Fantasia nor my mom had ever met but Fantasia's vocal's and my mom's piano ability came in sync with God's will on this day. That's what makes this so amazing , to have witnessed God in His Glory.

I loved her performance on Bobby Jones (look it up if you haven't seen it) and hope to hear more Gospel from her, but as a secular performer she's just one of a kind. She truly is a young, female James Brown, she's Tina Turner, she's Aretha, she's Elvis, she's carrying the tradition of performers who don't just get up and sing a song, but they come to life onstage.
True, that's undeniable. God clearly spent a little extra time putting her voice together. Whether she's doing gospel, r&b, or rock, you have to really listen to her voice, there's so much musicality that sometimes I listen to songs from her first album and notice things I didn't notice before, she knows her way around a melody and she's great at singing overtones. I get excited just talkin about her voice.
This was very nice of Fantasia to do this for this ill woman. But why every time I get on youtube, someone is either passing judgement, saying something ignorant, or beating you to death with the scriptures. I believe everyone should seek God for themselves and leave the judgement to him.
If people spent more time on getting themselves together, they wouldn't have time to talk about or judge others. I like Fantasia, her voice, and her music. I'm glad she won American Idol. If I had to pick the two people for the finals, it would've been Fantasia and Jennifer Hudson. Of course, Fantasia still would've won but it would've been very close :) !!

Obviously being black played a small part of it, but I think it was more the 3 of them divided their votes whereas Diana got all the teenyboppers

I don't think people realize how much prejudice comes into play for competitions like American Idol though anyone who watches it objectively would have to wonder why so many awful singers who just so happen to be pale-skinned and cute always make it to the final round while the Jennifer Hudsons and Tamyra Grays usually don't last.
Amen, you could tell the family felt very blessed by the opportunity, and the chord progression she played was lovely, no rehearsal or anything she just went up to that piano and played the mess outta that song. I bet she played in church at some point in her life.
I wish I couldn't had that opportunity to sing with Fantasia. I can't play the piano but I can sure hold a note. I've had and still is having the same problems that Fantasia had with her vocal cords. I've already had two vocal surgery and I am in my third session of vocal cord therapy to try and save my vocal cords from going under the knife again. So I understand what Fantasia is going through or has gone through. It's not joke!!!!
I'm sorry to hear that, just remember that it's in God's hands. Have you tried taking voice lessons? There's no shame in it, lots of great singers take lessons. One possible cause of throat problems is improper technique, you can sound good but still do damage if you're not singing "correctly." If that's not it, I just pray your doctors can figure it out so you don't have to lose your talent. God bless.
