@cookiealy3 Jake also has golden brown markings on his legs and on his face. His sister who was being adopted at the same time was entirely white with golden brown markings everywhere. So, your dog's golden brown is consistent with the ACD. One thing to consider...does your dog have a blaze on his forehead? That's usually a very good sign of the ACD...
Jake is beautiful! I have a new Bordercollie/acd mix too. He is only a puppy though.
It is sad that little is known about them, could you answer some questions for me? How big is your Mr. Jake? Does he respond well to command? Do you have any tips to a new owner? Thanks
@MsZu29 Jake thx you 4 the compliment - he is 48 lbs. BCs & ACDs are incredibly smart, working breeds. You have a working dog that feels most fulfilled when given an assignment and trained. Jake knows more than 30 commands, still learning. Tips? Positive reinforcement only. Plenty of exercise (frisbee, tennis balls, agility). Both breeds are nippy & territorial. Lots of socialization essential. Everyone who comes in the door should give a treat, including the mailman, everyday. Good luck!
@ReMz10184 Thanks for your comment. You understand the little felllow. ACD wrapped up in Border Collie coat. He's a smart doggie, too, as you'd expect of those two breeds. Thinking of taping some of his best behaviors. BTW, he likes brussel sprouts, too. :-)
@empriseable heh! i haven't found one thing my blue heeler wont eat. From salad to hot links with tabasco added..... hell, u leave a beer sitting next to him and its gone! :P I can imagine that is quite the intelligent dog; as i've owned pure bread border collies and dingo/acd mixes. Wouldn't be surprised if Jake picked that straight from the tree himself!

@StefyStuff I bet he would, too. Wish we were closer to herding opportunities...
