I went on my first Geocaching adventure tonight...we found 3 caches!!! NO GPS! Just clues!

i found a geocache without trying to. i didnt have a gps and i didnt even know what a geocache was, and i just found one. :/

Im 14 and I made enough to get a $160 Garmin GPS.. just don't waste it on dumb stuff and you will get enough!

i wanna do this so bad no gps tho and im a 14 year old boy so 100 ish is quite alot (live in uk) theres a geocach like 1 minute walk from my house :(, cant i just put the coods on google earth and find where it is and just look?

yes, but you should use the satellite view of the cache area on the geocaching site.

Yea all you have to do is copy and paste the coords. fro geocaching to google earth. I do it all the time =D

im going geocaching today with my uncle and im only 14. try going with someone you know who has a GPS ;)

@mental135 How accurate is google earth at finding the location? I assume it's as accurate as using a GPS. I've never Geocached before and don't have a GPS, but I do have google earth.

@janX9 That's what we used...it's very accurate, in fact it showed us exactly what lamp post to go to in one area.

yeah im 14 to and i dont hav a gps either so i use google earth lol takes awhile but it works

I tried that a few years back. But I couldn't find the one I was searching for. But make sure if you take something to LEAVE something! Thats the way it goes. You should throw in a porn mag... that would guarentee some laughs. hahaha

I agree with GhOst81, you dont need an expensive one. Just need to be able to punch in coordinates and have an arrow pointing which direction and how far. I love mine and it was one of the cheapest available.

I got a decent magellan Sportrak for $55 the other day and it is WONDERFUL. Can't wait to start marking caches off my list this weekend!

There isn't sound. Was using just a digital camera, it takes crude videos but no sound.
