she is so outstanding in grey gardens. i can't believe it didn't last forever on broadway, it is just a phenomenal show. i'm hoping for amateur rights soon!
um...if you ever did your research, you would find out they are really best friends, rosie filled her house with furniture for her and they have been friends for years!
its a shame this got cancelled.. with the hbo movie coming out im sure this wouldve been very good for the play.. they shouldve coincided it somehow.. maybye it will come back.. im sure it will
Thank you for posting this! I suspect the show closed too quickly because tourism is down in NYC. Nobody has money for travel & theater tickets right now.
I think I'd be a little uncomfortable if someone introduced me as their "best friend" on national TV !! I think Ebersole was probably thinking 'oh give it a rest Rosie'
this is the most poignant song that i have ever heard sung on broadway during the last few years, but i suppose that during each of our decades as we age, different songs mean more to us. this one means a great deal to me now! thank you christine and grey gardens. i only hope that the show returns to broadway, or travels before the film is made!
I cannot believe that they let darkness fell over Gray Garden's, I cannot believe that it will not be a national tour. Why is it going to Europe? It should and must be a national tour
Christine Ebersole has remarkable talent. It's too bad that she and Rosie are so delusional about having "no voice" in America today. They havee Murtha and Pelosi, what more could they want?
is she for real? She sang with the Gay mens chorus of LA a while back. Sang Some Enchanted Evening.... I mean, it was like the first time I had ever heard the song. So so so beautiful.... this woman.
Christine Ebersole MUST win a Tony for "Grey Gardens." She is MAGICAL in this show. However, I do encourage anyone who hasn't seen it yet to see the documentary that this show is based on before going. It will significantly enhance your appreciation of the briliance of Ebersole's performance.

It is because of talented women like Christine Ebersole that I much prefer Broadway/live theater to movies or TV shows.

God how I wish I had her vocal control and head voice

She knows how to present a song, not just sing it. No extraneous gestures, every movement she makes counts for something. What a great artist.

She isn't a suck up. She's friendly.

friendly yes, but still so annoying.

She said the same thing to Bette Midler AND Barbra Streisand! It starts to get a bit ridiculous

@knifecut Rosie and Christine are actually friends. Any host on the View introduces someone as their friend.

what is that shit around Rosie's neck?
pureimagination75 3 years ago
Don't know if you still care....
They sold buttons with quotes from the show in the lobby, along with t shirts, cd's, etc. Rosie's wearing the buttons around her neck.
Two quotes I remember: Jimmy likes my corn; feed the cat, starve your mother.

I am pretty sure ticket sales were good for this show! I heard they wanted to go out on a high. I am pretty sure it did really well!
Christine is freaking amazing! :)

Not sure if you still care.
It closed because it was contracted to move to London. It should be revived here!
Tourism isn't down. The theater district is still hopping! Let's hope it continues.

This is a great song and she does such a great job. I wish I saw it live.

She was indeed beautiful and had so much style. She made rags look wonderful.
Christine should have, at least, warn Little Eddie's signature headscarf for the performance.
She did a great job on the show, though. Her impressions were dead on. Watch the Tony performance if you haven't

it's not working....is this because of the thing she said about 9/11....hmm
