The water is filtered before if goes to your sink, Ive been drinking the water down here since the spill first happened and its fine. The water company even told us its fine because people were starting to listen to other people like the ones in this video taking full advantage of this problem so they can tell everyone to "go green". I always thought that evaporation was part of the natural filtration process of water. and that is how salt from the ocean was removed. but oil is able to evaporate With the water? can someone please educate me on this? i've never heard of oil being able to evaporate, but then i've never really done my homework on the properties of oil.
@Koldatt oil does evaporate by itself naturally. It is a blend of different sizes. It is not a pure compound. These molecules of different sizes are called hydrocarbons.The can be as small as 16 gram/mole to 100 gram/mole. This usually occurs at higher temperature.Now factor in the dispersant Coexerit which breaks it down even further and we can understand the 150 times more toxic levels that evaporate.

The sulfur in it will, and if all of the oil that was spilt got burned, count to 7, the same amount of pollution was released by cars as burning all of the oil. The only thing that makes this worse is marine life, acid rain and air pollution is so insignificant with an oil spill compared to how much we pollute normally.

The oil in the gulf isn't even fucking burning and even if all of the oil that comes out of the well was burned, It would take over 1 year of the oil spill to match one day of pollution from normal oil consumption. The air pollution is not as big as people are making it. The problem is water pollution, people are focusing on the wrong thing.

Let us just say that it is serious environmental pollution. And in addition to that, it is stripping too many people of their livelihoods, all because of greed and lack of interest in safety. It is indeed affecting air quality. It has been reported on the news that people have been getting headaches. There have been raised levels of hydrogen sulfide in the air. It won't get any better, only worse--because BP is still trying to save their line.

The effect the Coexerit on the oil is that it disperses the oil making it now possible to mix with the water at a molecular level.It disrupts the natural ability of the oil to bond to itself. The coast guard is doing night spraying On Land which will contaminate the water supply in numerous way according to biologists. Another danger that has been pointed out is the intensification that occurs in this toxin as it moves up the food chain. Already people have reported effects by a mere splash of this water which is known to rupture blood cells and even rectal bleeding has been reported.

Divers say there is a 100 ft wall laying on the gulf floor from the oil settling, which will never go away because oil cannot evaporate and will continue until BP finally fixes this. Its even more horrible for us in Louisiana because every time a hurricane passes through the gulf it is going to stir up the oil and carry it along with it, the oil clinging to any object it touches, bringing disaster to anyone on the gulf shore line. Thanks a lot BP, you just fucked up our homes even more.

I'm glad that you properly refer to it as the oil "gusher" versus the oil "spill". It is already more than 30 times that of Exxon Valdez and still going unabated. Common sense goes a long way. Also common sense with the stock sales and short positions and Halliburton buying the largest oil clean up company a couple weeks before. All adds up to deliberate, partly to push for the global carbon tax, but there are many angles that some benefit.

I put it in containers to carry or refrigerate but will accept no water in a plastic bottle, not anymore. Let's all do this.

I always thought that evaporation was part of the natural filtration process of water. and that is how salt from the ocean was removed. but oil is able to evaporate With the water? can someone please educate me on this? i've never heard of oil being able to evaporate, but then i've never really done my homework on the properties of oil.

@Koldatt oil does evaporate by itself naturally. It is a blend of different sizes. It is not a pure compound. These molecules of different sizes are called hydrocarbons.The can be as small as 16 gram/mole to 100 gram/mole. This usually occurs at higher temperature.Now factor in the dispersant Coexerit which breaks it down even further and we can understand the 150 times more toxic levels that evaporate.

@Koldatt oil can not, and even if it could, it would not stick to water vapor. The sulfur in it will, and if all of the oil that was spilt got burned, count to 7, the same amount of pollution was released by cars as burning all of the oil. The only thing that makes this worse is marine life, acid rain and air pollution is so insignificant with an oil spill compared to how much we pollute normally.

@Dahnje 84million barrels of oil are consumed each day. When you "consume" oil, they basically mean burn. The oil in the gulf isn't even fucking burning and even if all of the oil that comes out of the well was burned, It would take over 1 year of the oil spill to match one day of pollution from normal oil consumption. The air pollution is not as big as people are making it. The problem is water pollution, people are focusing on the wrong thing.

Let us just say that it is serious environmental pollution. And in addition to that, it is stripping too many people of their livelihoods, all because of greed and lack of interest in safety. It is indeed affecting air quality. It has been reported on the news that people have been getting headaches. There have been raised levels of hydrogen sulfide in the air. It won't get any better, only worse--because BP is still trying to save their line.

The effect the Coexerit on the oil is that it disperses the oil making it now possible to mix with the water at a molecular level.It disrupts the natural ability of the oil to bond to itself. Oil by lipid layers next to each other are the very basis of life. Our cells are nothing more than an oil layer surrounding our DNA,proteins,RNA. Put in a chemical that upsets that biological structure and we are putting ourselves at risk to an umpteenth level.

The coast guard is doing night spraying On Land which will contaminate the water supply in numerous way according to biologists. Another danger that has been pointed out is the intensification that occurs in this toxin as it moves up the food chain. Already people have reported effects by a mere splash of this water which is known to rupture blood cells and even rectal bleeding has been reported.

@icecoldzero00 the only way to fight this regime is to speak their language, money. we have to stop giving our money to the oil field. i am from la and my family lived off the oil field for a long time but we also lived off the abundant seafood which is gone.our goverment needs to shift the workers of our current energy field to produce and maintain renewable and clean energy sources, taking the power away from the people responsible for the war on terror and drugs

Divers say there is a 100 ft wall laying on the gulf floor from the oil settling, which will never go away because oil cannot evaporate and will continue until BP finally fixes this. Its even more horrible for us in Louisiana because every time a hurricane passes through the gulf it is going to stir up the oil and carry it along with it, the oil clinging to any object it touches, bringing disaster to anyone on the gulf shore line. Thanks a lot BP, you just fucked up our homes even more.

You know, I didn't think about it, but it could cause acid rain from all the pollution. I mean, I guess, I'm not sure. I also suppose that it's possible for rain clouds to travel past several states and drag the pollution in-land.

I'm glad that you properly refer to it as the oil "gusher" versus the oil "spill". It is already more than 30 times that of Exxon Valdez and still going unabated. Common sense goes a long way. Also common sense with the stock sales and short positions and Halliburton buying the largest oil clean up company a couple weeks before. All adds up to deliberate, partly to push for the global carbon tax, but there are many angles that some benefit.

i have noticed a sheen on the fresh water i filled my dogs water bowl with today. i was curious so i dripped a drop of dish soap in it and sure enough it dispersed the greasy substance to the sides. this is something i have never had problems with.

@UndergroundMMA992 I heard that Corexit the dispersant used allows the oil to mix in and evaporate with water, just as it allows it to be deluted enough to mix in and not float right on top. It doesn't just sink either just allows it to mix in.. Im no expert my a long shot. PS I like your youtube name.

I wouldn’t trust the water; I imagine you heard of acid rain caused from contaminants rising into the atmosphere and returning to the earth in the rain killing vegetation/fish in lakes and ponds? We will have oil rain caused by the same principle as long as they continue to burn the oil off the surface of the ocean. Contaminating the crops, water supplies and poisoning live stock. Think about it what goes up will come down.

I hate to sound like a vigilante, but if someone doesn't stop BP from continuing the use of the Dispersant we are all doomed. But like a rat on a sinking ship, I find comfort in knowing that England will soon be getting their share of this spill. And our stupid criminal govt better put a lien on all BP bank accounts before England does.
