What game on ps3 can i roam around in a grassy field with a sunny environment? please tell me.. otherwise im tempted to buy an X-Box and buy The Last Remnant
Is there any difference between the demo and the actual game? Cause I hated the controls in the demo. It was literally just transfered from the xbox, and I dont wanna geet a whole new game system just for a game that could have easily been fixed.

These "units" and characters you fight with, if they die in a battle, will you still be able to use them in later battles or do you have to recruit new characters? (I just ordered the game, it looks pretty good!)
@RonaldLandor No, they will come back. In fact, you can revive them with certain Herbal skills or Magic spells right in the middle of battle. Hopefully you got the PC version...It's more or less the "Full / Intended" version. Enjoy!
I enoy rpg's I played all final fantasy games up to 12. This game was very difficult and felt like such a grind. I would have to face bosses up to 10-30 times just to beat them and I know beforehand to make sure I have good equipemt and levels but it was still tough:(
@trema12345 the most hard boss in my opinion is the hell gate, since your level still low and get AoE damage every turn, other boss is not really that hard if you know how to make a formation :)
i have a full 1000g in this game and my god it was so frustrating, some boss fights are even stupidly difficult for stat grinded characters, good game though i enjoyed playing and quite liked the weapon upgrades, not a game for everyone though. shielding demonblade +4 ftw = P
@honorguard88 lol question over a month and im trying to answer, i would recommendation the last remnant the atmospheric gameplay, More tactical included than FF, you need more knowledge to create a formation etc, and of course (360 version) you can bring up to 18 character in one battle field and there is more than twenty unique and main character,
if you liked final fantasy,then this game is a must have, the battle system may be different, but once you re used to it its realy great and puts a touch of strategy in the game wich is one big plus. also the story and atmosphere are awesome just like in the FF games, graphics are realy great, same goes for the music and sound effects.
the battles are challenging and i enjoyed every second of the 80 hours i was playing this game, too bad it ended way too fast :((

This is why i play pirate games, so later, i don't have to regret or ask for my money back! Second, the guy said JRPG not RPG, so you don't know what you're talking about, so yeah, i do agree with Skyrim being probably the game of the year, but THIS YEAR only and hopefully from other years to come since i like Bethesda games.
surprised! square enix seems to have done a decent job on this one. in an age where people want weekend-RPG's , it would be nice for Square Enix to look into Squares track record prior to merging, and make a true epic RPG for us. FFX is the only noteable RPG they've managed to squeeze out since Square Softs time.

@TrevHead10 that the game is laggy is true i have it but it only happens on the old xbox's the slim doesnt seem to have any laggy times, but i will tell you if that happens ;-)
The battle system is so unique, but the frame-drops ARE annoying. Like during cutscenes, he'll be talking then suddently the details on his clothing appear, and while your in battle, when the character slashes, it'll pause for a second/freeze, gets pretty annoying.
@MinionOfSafiria FFXIII was amazing! If you're a JRPG fan, you shouldn't try to limit yourself to just the FF series. Of course, it's the best JRPG series out there, but there are A LOT of other ones as well. This game come very close to being as good as FF to me.
i compare this often to "Dragonforce" from the Sega saturn,not exactly Dragonforce but it often reminds me of this . Its not like 100% the same but alots of thingsremember me very hard on it.
Look up for "dragon force gameplay" and you may see what i mean(DForce for SAT was like 15 years older than this,so dont expect to much)
Before I actually looked into this game, I couldn't tell it apart from Infinite Undescovery and Nier. I think this game is great but doesn't live up to the standards ToV or even to some extent FFXIII set (yeah I know last remnant came out before FFXIII, but still...).
This is my 4th favorite current-gen RPG, the others being (in order) Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean The Last Hope and Final Fantasy 13

However I'm also going to buy the PC version which I hear addresses these problems (except the last one, you DO get some controlling by turning skills on and off)
The game itself had so much potential but was rushed. Would've gotten better ratings if it weren't rushed.

@ultramegaman555 actually the last boss' power is relevant to your sidequests. If u did none then he's rank 1 and very easy but.... The True Conqueror (Rank 8) (PC) -Rank 8 / Diabolical - requires Dream's Edge that u get from Things Unchangeable quests :D that is AWESOME [i think]

This game is incredible, I got it about a month ago and just beat it. Screw IGN, they gave it a bad review because they were stuck on the Gates of Hell and were frustrated because they couldn't beat it. Like they say, you can't spell Ignorant without IGN...
i need some help.....im trying to capture a monster so i can split it......but i end up never catching the monster....i just end up with some item the monster drops. Is my BR to high or something? can someone comment on that.
@mrgoodbear you probably need a magazine for that particular monster. these magazines will help you get certain items that you normally wouldn't get. to get these magazines you have to complete certain guild tasks. it's best to look up the guild tasks in the last remnant wiki website to find out which task you need to complete to get that particular magazine.
Oh and theres an entire keyboard section in the options screen, so u can configure it there. Just so u know, cuz i see alot of whiners b*tching about the controls but whom are apparently to dumb to read
This game is great, i recommend the pc version, it's superior in many ways. It's a refreshing game compared to the usual stuff Square makes, high replay value to.
the pc version lets you have subtitles and original voice acting. Great game, over 20 hrs in and i keep discovering new stuff to the combat system. just make sure you set the fps cap to 30 or you'll never pull off one of those critical triggers!
@tikachu9999 dude u sure about what ur talking about sure the xbox 360 buttons apear but the keaboard gets the job done easly the mouse was very well implemented if ur talking about inside combat the xbox 360 buttons to press u when a character defends or atacks u can go to options and set to do it automaticly so u dont have to bother with that the game will do it when the chars atack or defend

if you don't like the lag in this game, get it on PC. it runs AWESOME!! with a decent PC of course. I only wish that square would release more rpgs on PC. like FFXIII or even FFXII. I hate how they assume that all RPG fans play on consoles :(
@carltot15 The Last Remnant was a turn based strategy game that allowed you to take your time with simple commands that they performed for you. Final Fantasy XIII was a fast, active, kill-you-if-too-slow sort of game, and the menu system would be quite hard to implement on the PC, I'm also guessing that they'd have to modify the graphics further just to make it compatible on a lot of PC's. If they came up with a different control scheme, I'm sure it'd be possible, but not now.

@koneki6787 I don't thnk the game is on the PS3, but it is on the XBOX360. You will have to install it on the hard drive, otherwise there will be a lot of slowdown.

@koneki6787 The game play will slow down, possibly because the processing power can't handle the graphics of the game too well. It only usually happens during battles, plus it may take a few seconds for the textures to completely load. I have a friend who had the red ring of death on his 360. He took it to Microsoft and they repaired it. You can also try taking it back to the store where you bought it. They may try to repair it or give you a new one if the warranty is still good.
This game wasn't too bad, i would have played to beat it, but i always kept forgeting to save for a long period of time and end up wiping and losing all my progress...
@P0ko4Sh0 That's partial true since gameplay value is being thrown out for graphical value. Final Fantasy XIII is the best indicater of that, it looks amazing and that's the only thing keeping the player playing.

And yes I used to play it, and it got boring very quickly. Paradigm shifting all the time for healing and defense, scan enemies to use auto-battle all the time... and hope your main star character you choose to control does not happen to die since no one can revive you. No towns, linear gameplay. No fun. PS1 featured best rpgs.
@ShadowxMaker ur just rlly low lvl ur characters will learn it eventually put more people with ur character so he dont die so he revive other group when they die, "couple of battles" are in there so u lvl ur chars, pick stuff for them to improve, get stuff to craft, upgrade weapons, to finish guild tasks for rewards along with elite guild tasks, its has many towns lol, cool chars to recruit many side quests to do most with new companions as reward in the end, gather stuff, secret stuff yea ps1 k
God damn .... iv seen the Game Over screen for like 20 times now and i just begun playing.. story is good graphics is perfect effects are amazing but it makes me so fkin angry loading again and again... i want the good old FF system when i could train and than kick some serious monster ass. its so annoying when i jump on 2 mobs and in battle its 3(people in my group) vs like 9 or more mobs.. and i hate having a 9 people group.. im used to 3 people. My opinion.. now back to the game.
This game was great. Awesome graphics, one of the best Soundtracks i ever heard in a Square game and an innovative battle system. Story was good but not great, minor point goes to the PC version where square just copied the xbox controls.
Iv played other jrpgs type battle systems.. nothing new to me. This one was plain imo, didnt wow me or make me get into the battles. I didn't break the bank with this game at all so not really upset about buying it. Thinking an rpg from square enix figured would give me that epic feel of a game like most FF titles but this one just felt like any other generic rpg. Who knows maybe in the future I can get more into this game but for now it wasnt what i was expecting. My two cents at least.
im enjoying this game alot but ign and other reviews scored this game low but the only things that can be an issue is the battle system and the framerate slowdowns at but after a while the battle system is actually pretty fun with your unions to back you up and after installing the game into my hard drive the frame rate issue is minimal to none but they fixed this on the PC version so thats cool but overall this game is great and the graphics are beautiful. and for under 20 bucks. not bad ^__^
I'm downloading the game now from Steam with high hopes. I've heard a LOT of complaints about this game, but it mostly sounds like whiners who went in expecting turn based or Final Fantasy. If anything, I'd compare this to games like Fire Emblem. It's more about a team effort, not a loner hero.

Imagine, when the enemies turn you can't attack except in critical defense but when its your turn, the enemy has a move in your turn. SO stupid!! its so shit!
Watching this trailer makes me appreciate the fact that I have the PC version. Lots of extras that the 360 version didn't have, especially Turbo Mode for battles.
Controls were definitely unintuitive though. When I first started playing, I really wanted a controller as opposed to keyboard and mouse, and it took a while to get used to.

The way I see it, there will always be those who prefer turn base games. Just because it is getting old and stale to those who were born in the 80s and 90s, does not mean it will be the same way for those who were born later in life. Turn base gaming should not just die, that is something I must say now since there will be those who are interested in it just as I was and many other people who buy it. Chrono Trigger for example, was my trigger point. Great game that was turn based, got me onto it
Agreed, I was born in the 80's and I still love Turn based RPG Games, I think it will be still a while if not never before they become a stale style of game to me.

The PC version is very fast. You just need to have a decent graphics card and processor. I have ATI HD 4670 and Athlon II X2.. runs very smoothly.

@MinionOfSafiria FFXIII was amazing! If you're a JRPG fan, you shouldn't try to limit yourself to just the FF series. Of course, it's the best JRPG series out there, but there are A LOT of other ones as well. This game come very close to being as good as FF to me.

i compare this often to "Dragonforce" from the Sega saturn,not exactly Dragonforce but it often reminds me of this . Its not like 100% the same but alots of thingsremember me very hard on it.
Look up for "dragon force gameplay" and you may see what i mean(DForce for SAT was like 15 years older than this,so dont expect to much)

Before I actually looked into this game, I couldn't tell it apart from Infinite Undescovery and Nier. I think this game is great but doesn't live up to the standards ToV or even to some extent FFXIII set (yeah I know last remnant came out before FFXIII, but still...).
This is my 4th favorite current-gen RPG, the others being (in order) Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean The Last Hope and Final Fantasy 13

Despite the fact that the story line and the scene are AT THE GROUND OF LOW QUALLITY example scene "Irina are you ok" and she was on a glowing orb obviewsly that she wasnt ok lol WTF, it has A STUPID PLAYING SYSTEM, i cant get the defence properly with armours or something, the initiative is FUCKED UP and more likely I CANT GET MANUALLY ITEMS ON THE OTHER CHARACTERS!!! this game is a bunch of nerves!!! the only good thing is the graphics...

360 version main problems that I had: Framerate and texture load up (fixed with installing directly)
BR rises too fast
No control over moves
However I'm also going to buy the PC version which I hear addresses these problems (except the last one, you DO get some controlling by turning skills on and off)
The game itself had so much potential but was rushed. Would've gotten better ratings if it weren't rushed.

@ultramegaman555 actually the last boss' power is relevant to your sidequests. If u did none then he's rank 1 and very easy but.... The True Conqueror (Rank 8) (PC) -Rank 8 / Diabolical - requires Dream's Edge that u get from Things Unchangeable quests :D that is AWESOME [i think]

This game is incredible, I got it about a month ago and just beat it. Screw IGN, they gave it a bad review because they were stuck on the Gates of Hell and were frustrated because they couldn't beat it. Like they say, you can't spell Ignorant without IGN...

@mrgoodbear you probably need a magazine for that particular monster. these magazines will help you get certain items that you normally wouldn't get. to get these magazines you have to complete certain guild tasks. it's best to look up the guild tasks in the last remnant wiki website to find out which task you need to complete to get that particular magazine.

the pc version lets you have subtitles and original voice acting. Great game, over 20 hrs in and i keep discovering new stuff to the combat system. just make sure you set the fps cap to 30 or you'll never pull off one of those critical triggers!

@carltot15 The Last Remnant was a turn based strategy game that allowed you to take your time with simple commands that they performed for you. Final Fantasy XIII was a fast, active, kill-you-if-too-slow sort of game, and the menu system would be quite hard to implement on the PC, I'm also guessing that they'd have to modify the graphics further just to make it compatible on a lot of PC's. If they came up with a different control scheme, I'm sure it'd be possible, but not now.

@koneki6787 I don't thnk the game is on the PS3, but it is on the XBOX360. You will have to install it on the hard drive, otherwise there will be a lot of slowdown.

@koneki6787 The game play will slow down, possibly because the processing power can't handle the graphics of the game too well. It only usually happens during battles, plus it may take a few seconds for the textures to completely load. I have a friend who had the red ring of death on his 360. He took it to Microsoft and they repaired it. You can also try taking it back to the store where you bought it. They may try to repair it or give you a new one if the warranty is still good.

And yes I used to play it, and it got boring very quickly. Paradigm shifting all the time for healing and defense, scan enemies to use auto-battle all the time... and hope your main star character you choose to control does not happen to die since no one can revive you. No towns, linear gameplay. No fun. PS1 featured best rpgs.

God damn .... iv seen the Game Over screen for like 20 times now and i just begun playing.. story is good graphics is perfect effects are amazing but it makes me so fkin angry loading again and again... i want the good old FF system when i could train and than kick some serious monster ass. its so annoying when i jump on 2 mobs and in battle its 3(people in my group) vs like 9 or more mobs.. and i hate having a 9 people group.. im used to 3 people. My opinion.. now back to the game.

This game was great. Awesome graphics, one of the best Soundtracks i ever heard in a Square game and an innovative battle system. Story was good but not great, minor point goes to the PC version where square just copied the xbox controls.

Iv played other jrpgs type battle systems.. nothing new to me. This one was plain imo, didnt wow me or make me get into the battles. I didn't break the bank with this game at all so not really upset about buying it. Thinking an rpg from square enix figured would give me that epic feel of a game like most FF titles but this one just felt like any other generic rpg. Who knows maybe in the future I can get more into this game but for now it wasnt what i was expecting. My two cents at least.

im enjoying this game alot but ign and other reviews scored this game low but the only things that can be an issue is the battle system and the framerate slowdowns at but after a while the battle system is actually pretty fun with your unions to back you up and after installing the game into my hard drive the frame rate issue is minimal to none but they fixed this on the PC version so thats cool but overall this game is great and the graphics are beautiful. and for under 20 bucks. not bad ^__^

I'm downloading the game now from Steam with high hopes. I've heard a LOT of complaints about this game, but it mostly sounds like whiners who went in expecting turn based or Final Fantasy. If anything, I'd compare this to games like Fire Emblem. It's more about a team effort, not a loner hero.

Watching this trailer makes me appreciate the fact that I have the PC version. Lots of extras that the 360 version didn't have, especially Turbo Mode for battles.
Controls were definitely unintuitive though. When I first started playing, I really wanted a controller as opposed to keyboard and mouse, and it took a while to get used to.

The way I see it, there will always be those who prefer turn base games. Just because it is getting old and stale to those who were born in the 80s and 90s, does not mean it will be the same way for those who were born later in life. Turn base gaming should not just die, that is something I must say now since there will be those who are interested in it just as I was and many other people who buy it. Chrono Trigger for example, was my trigger point. Great game that was turn based, got me onto it
