Unlike what he is suggesting, this would stress me out. If I make a mistake in my paintings, I simply fix it, no stress, nothing. I fix it.
I don't feel like what he is doing has meaning and I like my art to have meaning. I would LOVE to try blindfold painting to music, I think that would be an amazing experience, but for me this just has no meaning.
@jontsoi i have a major issue watching a doctor of medicine trying to wiggle his way into art. I am sorry, but his work is not at all subtle nor warm to the eyes. Commercialism at its peak. I have no intentions of making you feel bad or have anything against you. :(
nice..not sure about any medical therapy... stress yes.. i just started painting to help my stress.. but i do like the blindfold way.. are you using oils?
That is a truly marvelous idea, Doc. Painting can become stressful and I think you've opened an array of ideas of something I can do whenever I need a release from that stress... Thank you so much.
Dr. Jon Tsoi, you got my thumbs up. I should try this amazing technique and whatt you said is pretty true. I am glad I was able to watch this video. Neat.
I'm an artist myself. I always try to talk people into doing art. If more people did art we'd have fewer problems in the world. All of us were meant to do art. Let you said, it's physically and mentally good for us. Well done, Doc!
I think this is a great tool to teach people to cope with life's uncertainties which as we all know are many. It is a great an concrete approach that will hopefully allow us to go with the flow when we do not have control of the situation and to welcome the unexpected.
Wow nice, I am a working and selling painter and yes, sometimes I get too focused on the mistakes that I make. Yesterday I just had something major happen to me that has caused a lot of stress, this will be a great way to shift my painting technique to help myself out of my worries! Thanks for showing this:)
