What happened to the days of the MR-2 Twin Turbo and the Supra's?

The Supra's engine alone was a triumph to toyota's engineering knowhow yet they rather spend their money now a days on dinky Micro cars that have absolutely no soul whatsoever.

It's obvious that there is still a market for sporty/sports cars.

I Think Toyota is the only major car maker that doesn't have a sporty/sports car.

That was a MR-2 that only came in convertable trim (hence the S = Spyder). That model was never received well in the U.S.

I think it would have been a huge success if they made it with some kind of forced induction. I liked them though.

The LF-A is not in the sports car class. How can anyone say, "yeah I just spent 300+K on my SPORTS car"?

If you're spending that much it better be in the HYPER car territory and nothing else or you're getting ripped off.

Lastly, just like all of the really good japanese cars of yesteryear. Most people that do have that kind of money WILL NOT spend it on a toyota/honda/nissan/etc. no matter how well it performs.

NSX, RX-7, 3000GT, 300ZX, SUPRA,etc. were all in that category (In the U.S.)
