  • Not picking on Netgear when I say this but why aren't routers made with a better signal to start with? This may extend a signal but how bad does it hatchet the throughput? What's the Mbps sacrifice with one of these?

  • Can I use four of these at once, connected to apple airport extreme?

  • How mach monney will it cost

  • Dose it make your router weaker

  • This is utter junk, dont waste your money people, it constantly drops out, ornage light on all the time and its slow as.

  • How can I forward ports through this extender because I have a server that requires port forwarding and I have my server connected to the extender but it does not froward the port

  • it stopped working within 2 weeks i switched to amped wireless SR600EX and it worked WONDERS

  • I have a cisco router so how would I sync the extender to it? there is only one button on my cisco router and it's a refresh/reset button.

  • Too expensive and the range is poor

  • Does this works with the netgear wndr3700v2?

  • I notice at my work I see an unsecured NETGEAR wifi connection? could I connect to this with my wifi device without the person knowing and use their internet for free? or is it some sort of scam by a Russian hacker who wants to steal my information?

  • Hello I bought the Netgear WiFi extender and I try it in my house but however it still cuts out sometimes. Do you think that two extenders will stop the drop out?

  • I am wondering if I can install two of these. Anyone know?

  • Some people, like myself, don't have Ethernet cable access throughout the house. Have it in just one location. This range extender should work for me.

  • would this work to mooch off apartment community wifi?

  • Would this thing work if I am already using the Netgear powerline adapter?

  • does anyone know if this works, i think this would be great for an office

  • This thing doesn't even connect to internet, don't bother with it.

  • @Watulioprodoxons With that I mean, it will connect to the router that has internet, but gives no internet, at all...

  • @Watulioprodoxons Its suppose to extend wireless signal buddy.

  • do u plug this into a wall after its configured or nor

  • @douglassnoddyjr ou would first plug the range extender into an electrical outlet roughly half way between your router and the location in your home that has a 'dead spot'.Wait for the LED lights to turn green before you press and hold the Push 'N' Connect (WPS) button on both your router then on the range extender. In a few seconds they will pair, and you'll have extended your range. If your existing wireless router doesn’t not support WPS, you can configure using a wired connection via laptop.

  • @NETGEARChannel I don't have a WPS button on my router. I have the Black ARRIS router Comcast gave me. I have a dead spot in my room and I wanted to extend my range, but I don't know how. I followed the instructions in the box, but nothing worked. (I also have an AirPort Extreme wifi box made by Apple). I would really appreciate it if you could help!

  • I just bought this and its works great, easy set-up, priced kind of high for $70.00 but it made a big difference.

  • @zell23703 Im thinking about buying it. After your comment it makes me just wanna go and buy it. $70.00. Not too too bad.

  • Costs more than another router. What's the point?

  • @macemoneta Simpler configuration.

  • @macemoneta your modem might not reach the halfway point that you want your router to be in

  • @OgrAdaY You don't need it to; routers can be daisy-chained.

  • @macemoneta installing a second router can fuck your shit up bro

  • @pelman535 You're doing it wrong

  • @macemoneta no

  • @pelman535 I've set up multiple routers at several homes, no problem. You connect the routers LAN port to LAN port, not LAN to WAN. Give each router a unique address, turn off the DHCP and other services and enable bridging on all but the primary router (first off the cable). Also, if you are doing port forwarding (directing incoming traffic to servers), that is only configured on the primary router. Works every time.

  • @macemoneta We find that many times someone may have a perfectly working router but because of the technology used or the environment conditions within their home, they may not get a solid wireless signal in every room. It’s not unlike roaming around with a cell phone and some spots just are not as good.So instead of taking down a working WiFi router and installing a new one, you can easily just add a NETGEAR Range Extender to boost your existing WiFi router signal around your home.

  • @NETGEARChannel I never proposed "taking down a working WiFi router and installing a new one", I proposed that adding a second router would provide the same functionality at lower cost.

  • It would be really smart if companies like Netgear made smart wireless equipment that automatically powered down when not in use saving power...

I know of very few people that actually turn their router completely off when not in use when they're not in home or sleeping...
