  • Rob Teaches me some much!!! Thanks Man!!!!!!!!

  • I like your videos. I mean, I find the way you explain things really useful. Maybe it's more useful for amateur drummers, but even an experienced drummer could learn from them.

  • SAPO

  • Dude, if you really need a helping hand with the most simple song that can be played by a 3 piece band, I wonder if drums are something for you... lets say, any instrument.....

  • im finding this really hard help are there any easy ways of doing it

  • once again your like bar look like a drum stick!

  • @valkill74 Haha, I never noticed that before! I definitely prefer green drumsticks with red tips though and not the other way round! :)

  • hay nice drum tatoo on your right arm :)

  • what drum is that?

  • 'Sexy boy $: *u*

  • What is the price of electronic drums?

  • Comment removed

  • much better than expertvillage!

  • amazing video dude!

you looks a lil bit like john lennon on the 60's

  • Do u recommend this drum?

  • hi mate where did you get your drum kit from our whats the model called

  • wow.. great job!!

  • Hey, ive having a little trouble, ive played the drums until i was 7, and then the drum kit got trashed. I wanted(at the age of 12 now) to get back into drumming again. A acoustic kit is too loud so im going for a electronic. Would drum kits would u recommend and where to get them from, my budget is about £300. At wat sort of drums are they and were did u get them??. Plz reply!!!

  • @yourjust2pointless Dude, I'm not a drum shop! I suggest you Google this or ask at your local drum store as I have no idea of the local deals in your area. I recommend either a Yamaha or Roland drum kit but you won't get one brand new for £300. Maybe consider a second hand one on eBay? Alesis also offer good kits at a low price so check them out too. Hope that helped a little. Rob :)

  • @yourjust2pointless Alesis DM6 is a good kit I have one its £300 at GuitarGuitar

  • @HungryBangout Thanks alot, Im looking into the Alesis DM6 and i think im gunna get it!! Thanks for the help!!

  • @yourjust2pointless Your welcome, glad to be able to help :D

  • @UprisingDrummer18 No problem, I'm glad to help. I'm sure that some new beginner videos will be uploaded at some point in the future. Thanks for your continued interest in what I do and happy drumming to you! Rob

  • thx mate, i'm going to buy your vid pack and i just wana know if u did any foo figther songs?

  • @Migqell789 No worries! Yes, I have loads of Foo Fighter videos. Just check out my "Package Deals" page on my website and you will see the full selection. My "Drum Masters" Video Song Pack also contains all of my Foo Fighter lessons. Let me know if you have any further questions and thanks for your interest! Rob :)

  • Thanks! Your breakdown of the fills is really helping me learn this song.

  • hi rob. Just to ask in this vid why didn't u make it as long as your new ones aka assassin?

  • @Migqell789 Hey, this is only a PREVIEW video. You can download the FULL video from my website. The Assassin is a FREE video so the whole lesson was uploaded. I hope this makes sense and thank you for your interest. Happy drumming to you! Rob :)

  • holy shit it's edward norton!

  • how much does a drum set like this cost??

  • Hi Rob - i have a yamaha dtx500k, just wondering are you using a preset kit in this video? If so, which one? It sounds great but I'm having trouble getting this sound out of my preset kits and even editing i'm having trouble. I'm a big fan and have bought a few of your lessons, they're really good. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. my kit runs off the dtx500 module. cheers

  • @s4008794 I'm not the best man to speak too about this, mate. I'm using pre-set kit number 3 at the moment but some videos were different. I recommend you Google or email Yamaha for advice. Sorry I can't be more helpful and good luck! Rob

  • @DrumsTheWord No worries - thanks for getting back to me. My yamaha has a different module to yours and unfortunately the preset rock kits are not what i'm looking for - I can't get a 90s rock sound for the life of me! Looking to run addictive drums, from the videos I've seen the preset kits sound great. Cheers Tony

  • What kind of set is that?

  • John lennon came back and decided to play drums :)

  • I love an orgasmic sound of your drums

  • I've tried playing drums and can't do it. That looks fucking solid, loads of respect for drummers man.

  • He is so underrated

  • @powerfulimp correction: THE best

  • great video. dont worry about the negative haters on here. they dont realize that positive people feed of that negativity.

  • i hate your accent

  • 13 ppl can't hold sticks like dave grohl

  • Can I download the whole lesson for free :3 I have the sheet music I just need the technique. :D Love it how you do a cheesy smile when you drum :P I can tell your enjoying it. :D

  • @MyKittyGaz Not for free but you can pay and download it? The link is just below the video description if you're interested. Thanks for the drum love and I'm pleased you enjoyed the video! :D

  • @DrumsTheWord Yeah ive looked in the link and where can i download JUST the lesson. Is it the thing right at the bottom where it says "£4.79" then underneath that "add to cart" that one :P

  • @MyKittyGaz That's the button mate. There's no option to get the video without drum chart but to be honest the chart is thrown in for free anyway. Let me know if you have any further questions. Rob

  • @MyKittyGaz £4.79 for a whole tutorial lesson (about 45 mins explaining every single note) is decent value. This is not some numpty who shouldn't be charging - look at his experience and training on his website. I've bought the DrumMasters pack and if there was Hysteria by Muse and a bunch of others I'd buy them individually as well. Rob rocks!

  • pickin yo nose at 1:04

  • always had trouble on the 0:57

  • no no no no

  • @DrumsTheWord

How does this drum set costs? =)

  • That kit sounds good, I use a Roland TD6, and I thought, as far as electronic kits go, Roland was the only way to go, but I'm impressed! I think the TD6 has the edge on the cymbals though, Coz they are really very good!

  • holy cow, this dude has a tattoo of a drum set on his right forearm, this dude is hardcore!!

  • could you do the drum tutorial for never to late by three days grace?

  • could you do "never to late" by three days grace drum tutorial

  • love your tattoo <3

  • isnt it an open hihat??

    the chorus

  • @AskingVikas This video only shows snippets of the full video drum lesson. Dave moves to the crash cymbal half way through the chorus so the bit you saw must be the second half of the chorus. Hope this makes sense and thanks for your interest! Rob :)

  • great lesson! it helped me a lot to learn the song. Thanks!

  • how much cust your kit?

  • haha compare that to what is being played on the guitar... holy crap.

i don't actually play the drums, just the guitar but just playing drums on my xbox has made me realize how fucking hard playing the drums is. i bet that one can learn playing a whole lot of rock songs with the guitar a lot faster than with drums...

  • Thanks so much for posting your tutorials! My band's got a bit of a gig coming up and I was bricking it because I can't read tabs properly XD I'm definitely subscribing.

  • omg long hair! so cute! didn't notice until you cut it shorter! love yo rob <3

  • what's the name of that drumset, really like it, also like your vid. !!

  • @BrentVanHecke It's a Yamaha DTXPress Special IV. Glad you liked the vid! :)

  • rob, i remember watching your toxicity video, and then watching more when you didnt have more than 500 views!!! and now look at you!!!!

    congrats man!!!!

  • @DruMMaSt3R666 Thanks for your continued support, dude! Rob :)

  • @DrumsTheWord Can i do this on a basic kit?

  • @MrOhiostateboy Sure! Rob

  • I love your accent :)...

  • great tattoo

  • @DrumsTheWord Hey dude can you make a tutorial of a song from Blink182 titled All The Small Things? thanks

  • @brianmadmaxsy I'm not taking on any new requests at the moment but thanks for your suggestion! Rob

  • @DrumsTheWord Start slow to play fast right?

  • @brianmadmaxsy You got it! :)

  • i don't know how to read music so i just listen to the song and play along to it. it works!

  • oh, you look like Dom Howard a in something :D (or I want you to look like :D)

  • Are you making flams or malfs in the first fill or is it just dubble strokes? Please respond

  • Hey @dembumboclot, it's flams for the beginning drum fill. Thanks for your interest! Rob

  • 1 e and a 2 e and a. That's how my instructor taught me how to play 20 years ago, it's nice to see some things don't change.

  • damn, I'm just a starting drummer, and I want to learn it sooo bad:o

  • cool drumkit - almost first time an electronic drumkit does'nt sound fake - most electronic kits has not the real drumsound compared to a normal acoustic set

  • one and two and free and

  • It Hurts.... but it looks cool

  • What drum kit are you using?

P.S: You are David Grohl's PRODAGIE!

  • Hi @SuperPsychoSheep, I would never compare myself to Dave Grohl, the man is a GOD! But thank you anyway! :)

The drum kit is a Yamaha DTXPRESS IV Special.

    Rob

  • cool tatoo

  • hey im just starting out learning drums recently and i'd just like to say your a massive help to me with learning harder songs like this trying to learn off tabs is way to hard and i love the way you break everypart down and explain it i was just wondering if there is any easier way of playing the end part of the chorus ive been trying for a while now and i just cant get that foot peddle fast enough any help would be appreciated

  • TY M8

  • Really good vid thanks! :) Helped alot :):)

  • 3 people didnt smell the teen spirit. which means they havnt started puberty

  • 2:30 explains why the British are so hardcore.... (sarcasm) No no, but seriously this is really epic.

  • HAHAHA! Dude u rock man!

  • Thanks man! I can drum every single Nirvana song, from every album, except for Teen Spirit for some reason. Maybe I just avoided it out of habit but...this helped me with that problem! Thanks.

  • 2:32 "it hurts!" that was so cute!:D

your an amazing drummer, and thank you this really helped alot!!

    (:

  • never met sm1 hotter than u xD . . . never will TT^TT

  • 3 people never learned to fly.

  • What kind of kit is that? It's amazing. And your really good. I enjoy your other videos as well. You have taught me important techniques. Thanks and keep it up :)

  • Very good tutorial. Regarding the opening intro drum part this was an eye opener as on my cover I played the intro incorrectly

  • DUDE THANKS, BY THE WAY NICE TATTOO OF DRUMS ON YOUR RIGHT HAND

  • is it important that u need to use the one special type of drum kits for this song or u can do it on every drum kit (i mean: that it sounds the same like the drum kit that dave grohl uses in the song. PS ur great!!!

  • Hi @TheMita98, Thanks for the compliment, dude! No, it's not important what drum kit you use at all. Dave Grohl used his own kit, recorded in it's own way using his own own tuning so it would be practically impossible to try to copy his sound exactly anyway. Copying the "feel" of the drummer is more important than the sound of the drums in my opinion. This is all explained in the full length video lesson available from my website. Please feel free to email me if you have any more questions. Rob

  • This guy looks a little like John Lennon, and plays a little like Dave Grohl

  • you are better than the shit that is taught by expert village xD

  • @DrumsTheWord I've been trying the heel toe on the double note part of the chorus and that's the only part i have trouble playing consistently. Any tips or tutorial on it. Could it be my pedal or a problem with my bass drum?

  • Hey @DBOG, good bass drum technique is arguably the most important thing you'll ever learn on the drums, it's well worth putting time and effort into. I'm afraid that I don't have any videos on this subject yet but you can guarantee that this is something I will cover in the coming months. I recommend you check out other free online videos discussing the toe/heel technique. There are plenty out there. It totally transforms your drumming once mastered so good luck! :D

  • I am new to drumming and have a complete set but what is flam? Looks like the same as snare

  • Hi @TheKaylub, the flam is a drum rudiment that can be played on any drum or cymbal. It consists of two notes played very close together but not quite at the same time. The first note is played quietly and the second note, which is the main note, is played louder. So a right flam would be lR and a left flam would be rL. You can find a free lesson on flams at my website. Type "flam" into the search box on the site. Hope this helps!

  • @DrumsTheWord thanks for the info bro

  • Great drumming? Smells like teen spirit is so easy to play!

  • Lol i love the way u say POWAR

  • hi, great drumming there...how much does a drum set like your cost?

  • great recording......how do you get it to sound so clean......

  • you should teach the guys at expertvillage

  • I love this song... Thanks for the help. Cool tattoo by the way;)

  • this is prob the BEST drum tutorial I have ever seen ,Thank you ,great lesson and killer drumming

  • OMG i was my electric was like that! that's the awsomest i've ever seen!

  • That tutorial helped me a lot! Thank You man! ;)

  • Men You're awsome . The fills realy helped me and the beat, when you explaind that i can use one base not two (2:00 - 2:15) and it's almost the same. Thanks man :)
