@DeHerdtFutureMovies Really? You're gonna get that technical? This video was made six years ago, and we were in High School. They gave us the camera to use, however they didn't give us a nice boom mic to work with. Besides, the sound of the radio being recorded as natural audio in the garage was for the effect that you were actually hearing a radio being played in a garage. Dubbing that and leaving the rest of the audio raw would sound strange. So it's ok, we weren't trying THAT hard...
Like ive said the acting of the cop wasnt very good, but i have changed my mind on the guy how plays mr blonde, especially in the ending he did a good job!
His blood went away after you poured the water on him, and cutting between him and you before you were shot could have used some work. But all in all, one of the best torture scene remakes I've seen. My friends and I were actually planning on doing this ourselves, but we still need the equipment.
That was fun(ny too). I love the part where a cop is cruising behind you haha. I'm thinkin of remaking a Tarantino scene myself. If your interested I'll tell ya about it when I do it.
it was great man !!! you really should use your talent to bigger things. Try experimenting with your own scripts. Guys, could you tell me wich camera u use and what kind of efects. i would like to use the same efect in a homework. Thanks guys ,keep filming!!
think you guys did a really great job. anyone who expects the scene to mimic the extravagant budge given to a professional grade A film is using the wrong criteria. to me, the criteria was to capture the nuances of the scene and bring it to life, which you guys did very well. this is something to be proud of.
maybe one day you can follow up with the final scene - the one that comes afterwards
You could see the cop's right ear while you were dousing him in water.
I understand the technical limitations you were working with and everything, but still, the audience is supposed to believe there is no ear there. Shoulda worked the lighting so there was a shadow there, or something.
yes, you're right, I should have worked on the lighting a little more...if I had any time at all. We did not have the time to be figuring that stuff out.
the reason there was pink on my shirt before I was shot was because it was the second take. Luckily we were able to do it again without getting too much of the paint in the shot before I was shot again.
i didnt think this was gonna be good but as it turns out it really great. everything was on spot and you even did the long take out to the car.must have been really cold.
TO be done on a 30 dollar bill, you guys did a great job. Only bad thing I found was the "bumpy ride" from the garage to the getaway car. That is to be expected though, to happen on a regular camara. 2 thumbs up!;)
Oh it made my day that Mr. Orange in this video did the hesitancy of reshooting Mr. Blonde after he'd already killed him. Good job of noticing that detail !
COnsidering how hard this stuff actually is, this was a great job. It mirrors the real thing almost identically. The acting was fine. The only problem: the cop was less bloody when he was being doused with gas than he was when he got his ear cut off. But besides that, it was incredible!
He is in the film. In fact, in the film you see the gasoline that drops off of the cop get dyed with the blood, and the ear post-soak is near-bloodless.
are you kidding JordanNorton, this was made in about 3 hours total and we had a budget of about $30, cut me some slack, I'd like to see you try something this close, its not as easy as it looks
No! I meant in the actual film! Lol, when Madsen pours the gasoline over Baltz, you see the ear-wound get the blood washed off. Lol, you thought I meant in this? Lol no mate, this rocks!
And it's not a shot-for-shot remake like this, but I put digital effects to use in my summary of the Dogs film. trivia: The ear-wound actually uses the ear-wound from the movie: I print screened a shot from the film, then re-sized it so it could fit over my ear in Paint and then bloodied it in Adobe Imageready. I'll post it as a response now. BTW I am in my school uniform.
THAT WAS A BRILLIANT REMAKE - WELL DONE GUYS - SERIOUSLY GOOD, WELL SHOT AND EDITED. I Make re-enactments so I know how much work you guys did to make this - well done! (check out my remakes!)
hahaha dudes this is fucking incredible, iv seen reservoir dogs countless times and you did this scene exactly like in the film. only difference is you used a knife instead of a straight razor but thats alright, phenomenal acting!
The only reason we had to use a knife was that I didn't have enough notice to get detailed and "perfectly accurate to the movie" supplies. I would have ordered a straight razor off ebay or something but the movie had to be done for my cousin's movie class so we had to improvise.
Have to admit, i'ts damn good and I like that scene a lot. You've got some talent and I respect your work, You did great. How long did it take to do that?
It took about 6 hours divided up between 3 days in one weekend. We had to work on certain scenes on certain days because of working with the water and daylight.
Good job. A little quick, but you did good. I'm not critisizing, just saying your voice could have been a little gruff for Mr. Blonde. And your Marvin Nash and Mr. Orange were top notch, same as you!
That was very very good. You just about got all of the dialogue, timing of the actions, and camerawork to coincide with the movie. I really respect that attention to detail.
hey! cool man! and just for the record, when the actors made this scene in the movie, it was a fucking hell, the heat was something unbelievable.ironic, huh? well, they said that. hehe. keep it up boys, cheers!
I've gotta hand it to you, at first I expected you to fail at acting.. yet you actually managed to come out on top. Excellent job. Great work with the gun at the end, by the way.
Loved the video, was very good indeed, i look forward to seeing your monty python one as they are very funny. That was something Quentin would be proud of.
Actually our next project is a famous Monty Python scene called "Self-Defense". Look for that in the next month or so. Look it up on Youtube, very funny scene.
One scene that we almost did was the opening scene from Mel Brooks' "Young Frankenstein" where Gene Wilder is teaching a class and stabs himself in the leg with a scalpal. The scene would have been fantastic and it would have looked like the original because we were going to film it in a room in my school that is shaped exactly like the one in the film.
Scenes like the Walken/Hopper scene from True Romance are easy because they could be filmed in any small room, and only two people do the talking. Easy location, only a few actors.
The thing that stops us from doing scenes like the Jack Rabbit Slims scene from Pulp Fiction is location. When you want to do a remake of a movie right and make it look like the real thing, you cant just film it in your kitchen. You need to film it in some kind of restaraunt if thats what the scene calls for. Thats why low budget movies look so cheap, cuz people do it in their kitchen or back yard.
Everything was fine except your dance, which is for me, most important part of all.
But its a cool vid
