It is stupid for people who watched dbe and some what enjoyed to say they watched it like it wasn't even involved with dbz. If you like the movie you don't have to make an excuse about it. I personally enjoyed the connections it had with dbe and can't wait to see an even better sequel.
I personally didn't agree with the Dragon Ball set up, but I liked the movie anyways it wasn't to "fake" or "over done", and I think a sequel would be brilliant. Of course I think it should be DBZ and should follow the plot of the anime series a little more.
I know the KOF movie would possibly be flop by any chance especially with its casting and how the look of the film is. I must agree with jsdman though I'm a fan of DBZ myself and watched DBE. Personally if you forget the whole plot of the series and just watch it you make actually appericate it. Even though I know myself it isn't all that but I do appericate the film's efforts and references to the series. At least it wasn't Uwe Boll who done it, so be glad of that.
dude playing terry bogard is aite but needs a pony tail atleast. meggie needs implants or something. i wanna see how they will put this movie together its gonna be interestingly hard.
Monique definately can pull off Mature as well as Sean pulling off Kyo (even though Kyo sucks). As for Vice, no way, they can pick someone better & sexier, they can't ruin Vice, she's one of my favorite female fighters. And the wholes sci-fi twist thing, NO!!!! They'll ruin it just like they ruined Street Fighter 2!
Monique Ganderton WAS a model. These days, besides acting, she also serves as a stunt-woman, which is likely a large part of the reason why she was cast in this movie.
Impulse, I feel your pain on hearing nothing but crap on DBE. I for one, saw it as the BETTER of the movies that were released by Fox this year, because let's face it. Holloywood hit it's fans with a one-two knock out punch in the WORST way with releasing these movies. Look how quickly they got released to DVD. Still, I found DBE an enjoyable movie and jump on the first person saying Chun Li was better.
...But as an SNK fan, this just makes me cry on the inside. Still watching it, thou'.
As far as I know, the only official KOF movie image that has been released so far contains Rugal, with Mature and Vice standing either side of him. You may have seen a comparison image floating around that has Mai, Iori and Kyo's movie versions on one side and their game versions on the other. I thought the pics of the actors were from KOF but later found they were from other movies, such as Sean Faris's pic being from Never Back Down.
I hoping there was an original chars from KOF...and much with stylish action.... Oh ya! and especially look exactly right with the person like Iori and Kyo or something...no changes so far....And no spoilers......PLS!! I hope they can do a lot more better than that in fiction...T.T
if i remember correctly in the beginning games of KOF, ralf was part of the brazil team, im not saying he isnt american, but thats what i know, peace out
I still say King of Fighters should of been a Full length animated movie. In anime they could do more stuff that could only be done in games and anime. live action films tend to suck
Think that King of Fighters Movie will be great if the cast of stars was a mixed of asian and american actors! I think Kyo should be played by an asian actor not an american. That's just my opinion though!
since when movies like this are not made to get money from the fans huh? and answering to your comments about how fans complaint too much i ask you this question how would you feel if you have a book that you love and hollywood decided to make a movie out of it but oh no they didn't make just little changes but they changed the story about 70% woulnd't you be upset, i'm not a fan of the anime but watched it when i was a kid n to be honest i find offensive the way you refer to people like me
First off, if you've followed any of my previous videos in regards to Dragon Ball Evolution, you'll note that in one of them I say that I think its great that people support DB so much, but the extremes to which they can take that passion makes them seem irrational, and honestly, that more than anything else is what bothers me. Dragon Ball gets away with all the craziness it pulls because its animated. Taking every last detail of that and putting it on screen in live-action wouldnt work.
Furthermore, beleive it or not, I DO get where youre coming from. If you find my attitude offensive, then I sincerely apologize for that is not the intention. But in all honesty, the negativity has taken its toll on me, particularly when I was personally insulted and likened to the people who work at Fox Studios just for choosing to support Dragon Ball Evolution rather then follow the crowd and trash it.
Also, as I've stated before, I am a fan of the anime. I used to be pretty flamin' obsessive about Dragon Ball in my early high-school years when I was first exposed to it via Z, and while I still hold a soft spot for the franchise, I also understand that changes need to be made for a reason, and if I wanted to watch the anime, Id whip out my DVD sets and watch the anime.
Alot of people dont agree with the characters of the movie but i think that they didnt do to bad really because u just cant find actors that look like anime characters. And of course the movies goin to be different they are trying to appeal to everyone not just the DB fan base so u just have to be open minded about how they go about making the next movie if they do make one
they should make a 3D-CGI movie rather than live-action..US make the DBE sucks..Japan is better making a live-action compared to the US..like Death Note, Prince of Tennis..
Dragonball Evo wasn't a bad movie, not at all. I just thought they could've done MUCH better but that's usually the case with this kind of movie. People are so used to the respective series/game that they can't adapt to the movie interpretation of it. That being said, the downfall of this movie is going to be the character mismatches, for me. Kyo's american-looking, his dad's japaneselooking, terry bogard looks old and.. well.. ryo's a dork in this.. the only good thing is that Will=Iori!! :D <3
It has the possibility of being a great action flick, but a horrible Video Game movie. They have a talented Director, and the actors are all Stuntmen/women. Course Ray Park playing Rugal (when was the last time Ray Park had a role that didn't involve him using a sword? XD) will be an interesting thing to see. However, I feel had they gone along with the story that was present in KoF 94, it would make a better film.
I would say a sequel (Vegeta saga) that has no connection to the current DBE. Reason is because I think the DBZ will be more interesting or at least more entertaining given the right sfx, fight choreography and etc.
If that movie turns out successfully, then maybe we should they should make a sequel (Frieza saga), and for last an orgin movie (DBE reboot)
A sequel to Dbe would be wack because of the fact they would have no choice but to be connected to dbe. also have you heared. vegeta is now goku's brother. talk about craming characters like shit. They also have no plans bring in krillin & tien. Why have a sequel to a movie that clearly sucks. No plot, bad acting, fighting poorly done and rushed and a lack of everything.
I know know much about the DBE sequel beyond whats been said by Chatwin, but last I heard, the "Reborn" synopsis on IMDB mentioned Raditz, with Vegeta's name nowhere to be seen. Still, having Vegeta as the main villain of the sequel isnt surprising, given that nobody care about Raditz lol. To answer your question of "Why make a sequel to a movie that clearly sucks?"..Probably so they can get a chance to improve. That's usually what sequels do, after all.
Well I think if they ever did a reboot and stuck closer to the story, the only way Goku could still be a kind is through perhaps a combination of the first three story-arcs without featuring the Pilaf character since he is too much of a joke to take seriously as a villian. Any post-King-Piccolo-arc point would mean making him a teen/young adult, age-wise.

a sequel seems like a better choice because we would be moving forward not backward.
and why people keep bringing the hulk up when it comes to rebooting DB hulk was good but they are 2 very different films,
I agree, the two Hulk films are very different beasts. As you can see in this vid, I didnt like the first Hulk film. I felt it was one of those movies that worked well in concept but fell apart in execution. What really ground my nerve back then is that it felt too artsy for a comic book movie. I respect that it has its fans, but I just dont like the first Hulk film.
im talking about some people comparing the hulk reboot success and DBE, sorry if you misunderstood
like i said
Why people want to waist 5 to 10 years on a reboot when DB popularity wise is on life support right now, and by that time it would be dead (popularity wise),
im saying the Hulk and DBE are 2 different films yet some fans of DB expect the same success if there was a reboot with DBE.
its ok the way it is, but the fans who dont like it think a reboot will fix everything?
Dude if this movie would of been true to its source in the first place it would of did great but the fact that they changes so much and had the worst acting sents Power ranger turbo and had no plot made alot of fans pissed off enough to not watch it. The reason fans talk about the hulk is because that movie stood true to the fans and had great acting and a good cast and story. Also that was proof a reboot could save a live action series.
Funny that you mention Power Rangers, because I respectfully disagree with you and honestly think that's what a close-to-the-source-material live-action DB movie would've both looked like and reminded people of. I've seen some of those fan-movies on here and other video streaming sites, and there always good for a laugh when I've had a crappy day lol.
All the times Ive seen dragonball it never reminded me of power rangers up intill that stupid dbe movie. Dude dragonball is not as lame as you make it sound. Dragonball had alot of great serious moments unlike like alot of power ranger episodes and movies. With all the material they had. this movie would of been a Great movie and as great as any other superhero movie. You just down graded the series.
Downgraded the series? Since when is speaking honestly and truthfully about how lame a carbon copy of the source material would look in live-action "downgrading the series"? I own the original Dragon Ball anime on DVD & honestly find it easier to sit through than Z but there is a reason why DB never got off the ground in the US until 2003. Harmony Gold tried in the 80's, Funimation tried in the early 90's and both attempts failed due to abysmally low ratings.
Furthermore, I've been a fan of DB for nearly a decade and in all honesty, there are some franchises out there that you just plain cant adapt 100 faithfully in live-action without it evoking the feeling of Power Rangers in peoples' minds. This is one of them. I want to make it clear that I'm not trying in the least to defend DBE when I say this, but as badly as DBE bombed in the US, it would've bombed even harder had it been more in tone with the show.
First off Dragonball has a big following and for you to say if it would of been true to the show it would still bomb is BS. Have alittle more faith in the series. This show is awesome and not as cheesy as Power rangers. I believe this movie could be done right and one day it will be proven.
Perhaps a reboot will come, and I am open to the idea, but I dont see a more direct live-action thing happening. If you do, then kudos to you, I respect that :) I on the other hand honestly feel that the only way a DB could be made 100% faithfully to the series in a form other than anime is if it were CGI.
So whats say we agree to disagree and leave it at that? :)
i somewhat agree with you. alot of things that occur in the DB universe is near impossible to replicate on live action terms without it looking a little cheesy.
But, with movie tech always getting better, a reboot could possibly own up to the crazy universe of DB.
no reboot. just do the sequel, and make it amazing! it would be cool. have it start with a little thing like in the incredible hulk, and shoiw a little of what happened before. the, start out with the whole Radits thing
DB should be rebooted. But don't reboot it up to the level were the "TRUE FANS" want it (The ones that are crying and saying a lot of B.S), at least reboot it up to a decent level. I say give it to WB, they did a Great job at Speed Racer LAM and I know they will do a better job to DB.
Why are they keep making these movies like that streetfighter and dragonball. Well hey, I guess they might come around and make it better like the hulk 2, well the restart to the hulk.
First off, as a movie by itself, it was pretty whack, but thats what made it entertaining as far as Im concerned
Secondly, the US box office was indeed very poor, but Im not at all surprised that Hannah Montana made more money considering the shoddy job Fox did promoting this in the US.
Thirdly, no definite plans for a sequel bar the written script. I was trying to point out that a sequel is possible when one considers the total worldwide gross has raked in almost all of DBE's budget.
The budget of the DB LAM was 45 million, so far "Right now" its like 43 Million. About 3 months or so it will get up to at least 50 million at laest. In the U.S it bomb, but in all all the movie DB LAM didn't bomb that hard.
i am not sure about the question thing, cuz for dbe just want it to be longer, more fights, character devolopment and a better cliff hanger. but i was thinking how retarded would a movie with a woman with bue hair, a bald guy sexually harrasing the blue haird person and a fighting 7 year old, i would probally watch DBE and sequels
I Liked DragonBall Evolution A Lot Becuase It Was A New Tiwst On The Story And In Movie Form And They Did A Good Job So I Woudl Like Too See A Dragonball Reborn
It is stupid for people who watched dbe and some what enjoyed to say they watched it like it wasn't even involved with dbz. If you like the movie you don't have to make an excuse about it. I personally enjoyed the connections it had with dbe and can't wait to see an even better sequel.

The budget of the DB LAM was 45 million, so far "Right now" its like 43 Million. About 3 months or so it will get up to at least 50 million at laest. In the U.S it bomb, but in all all the movie DB LAM didn't bomb that hard.

I'm going to see this for sure. The King of Fighters is an awesome series, and I'm hoping for the best.

i am not sure about the question thing, cuz for dbe just want it to be longer, more fights, character devolopment and a better cliff hanger. but i was thinking how retarded would a movie with a woman with bue hair, a bald guy sexually harrasing the blue haird person and a fighting 7 year old, i would probally watch DBE and sequels

I kinda liked DragonBall Evolution. Mostly because I didn't try to compare it to the manga/anime.
