  • These guys were a creation of Jonarthon King, who sang "Everybodys Gone to the Moon"..These guys' big hit was "Good News Week". available on YouTube..

BTW That's Jonathon King doing the singing on this..

  • Mike Tinsley, the lead singer on this record, now has a solo release out on audio CD called " My Survival"

  • Vaguely country music..

  • 2009ironfighter's correct. They were RAF groundcrew serving at Wittering near Stamford. My parents knew them as 'Geordie' Honeyball lived near us. My Dad was also groundcrew at Wittering at the time.

  • just another version of "It's Good News Week"

  • These lads were all stationed at RAF Wittering a V Bomber base with Victa B2's of 100 & 139 Squadron. They were called hedgehoppers because that was the role of the B2's armed with the Blue Steel missile stand off bomb and anonymous because any one in the armed forces was supposed not to have a civilian occupation - ie rock star.

  • The Hedgehopper was DEFINITELY a British Buccaneer. They built them at Brough here in East Yorkshire, and the pub nearest the factory is called The Buccaneer in its honour, with various hedgehoppers mentions on the memoraibilia on the walls.

Rod Buckle & Jonathan King were involved in this recording I think????

  • Mike Tinsley "My Survival" released on the Basca Academy digital Recording label will get its first broadcast in Australia during March 2010. available on amazon

  • This is what you call music priceless.

  • I like them..in Holland they have no Top 10 numbers..what a pitty

  • The flip side of this 1966 Parrot label (in the States) single, "Please Don't Hurt Your Heart For Me" is also a gem. Great band!

  • know this record well, this group was put together, out of the us airforce, the pilots used to fly so low they where called hedgehoppers. bit of useless info...

  • Think you'll find they were in the RAF.

  • @mowgliebloise

They were in the not in the USAF. as you claim [shame on you]. They were in the RAF. The name 'Hedgehoppers' came from new role of the Buccaneer aircraft. This was originally a Royal Navy plane and the RAF were converting it for a low flying role in order to get under the enemy radar. The RAF has always referred to low flying as 'hedgehopping'.

  • wondering if some1 out there in the cyber world can help?.....

does any1 know if a man sang with this band called joseph harvey? or if he used a different name? any help would settle a pub arguement lmao xx

  • According to urban legend in Inverness .... YES !!!! Auld Joe was part of this one hit wonder group. Looking at the pics that go with this there is a couple of them that could be joe, one in particular in the last pic looks very like his recently deceased youngest son, and therefore possibly a young joseph. (front left) hope this helps.

  • Thanks for this one. I've been trying to find it for over 40 years.

  • Thank you for posting this. Yes it is very similar to Good News Week but it has merit in its own right. Sixties Freak

  • Great 60's sound, should have been a big hit. Like to get hold of a CD of thier's. Can anyone help?

  • Does anyone remember another song they did called "Stop Press"?

  • The song is very similar to "It`s Good News Week" but also great+++

  • I have heard this sometime in the beginning of my life, it's great, thanks for uploading and I had never seen them before keep up your great work!
