  • He's voice is fuckin amazing. I fall in love...

  • 'Cause the person I am

Are the parts that I play......''!!!

  • this song is greater than anything guns and roses ever did. im sorry but its true. this made me weep. november rain never made me cry like that.

  • Lol, that last guy spelled half those names wrong.

  • This is one of the the rares song i can singing.

  • I've heard thousands of bands. Savatage is still #1 and always will be.

  • RIP Criss. You are never forgotten!

  • Awesome music video, love the lyrics and amazing and very talented band. RIP Criss Oliva.

  • @raphater2000 shaddup

  • Ωραίο...

  • @RT5N Not just nice but the best I've seen, heard or even played.

  • Criss Oliva didn't get to enjoy his fame nearly long enough. Six years isn't nearly enough time for someone with his talent. Kind of reminds me someone like Jimi Hendrix or Randy Rhoads. I'm not comparing styles or abilities. They each had their own distinct abilities and an equally passionate fan-base. My only comparison is that they all died in their prime and who knows where their music or the entire guitar world would be had they lived.

  • Woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow

  • Anyone that dislikes this vid has no concept of what life or music is all about. Bunch of crack heads I do believe!!!!! Love these guys. W/O them, I would have had a many of rough times. They find that inner part of one's soul and rekindles it for them to carry on again

  • @72cadman they just don't want to believe that the crowds might be gone someday but there will always be us loyal followers of true metal at it's best.

  • dear savatage, please come back to old business \m/

  • @neazahmed Savatage will never return Jon will leave it as a testament to the great things him and brother Criss did before he passed away from a peace of crap drunk driver . BUT we have Jon Oliva's Pain to carry on some really good songs check it out .

  • Long live the masters!!!!!

  • "never won it to know never won it to see... "it's a lirics from another songs "belive" even so i love the songs

  • The greatest band most people have never heard of.

  • The only thing that bothers me about this video is that they add the obligatory hot 80s Metal Video Chick. She has nothing to do with the song.

  • Our dear brothers of Metal. This song's for you: Criss olivia, Steve Clark, Tim kelly,Randy Rhoads, Jason Mcmaster, Munetaka higuchi, Midnight,(Crimson glory), Eric Carr, Randy Castillo, Ray Gillen, Gar Samuelson, Ronnie James DIO(Master of the Moon, Thank you my friend) Kevin Dubrow, Bon scott, Robin Crosby and the one and only Cliff Burton. HEAVY METAL RULES !!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • @PEDROCLASSIC You have Munetaka Higuchi, but no Hideto Matsumoto?? :O

  • @PEDROCLASSIC Jason McMaster? Elaborate please.

  • @PEDROCLASSIC

    *Criss Oliva.

  • superb

  • Been listening to this for over 20 years and it just keeps getting better!!

  • Painful words... :(

    Hail Savatage forever & ever...

  • wonderful song, wonderful band...that's all

  • Best Band Ever!!! Anyone who puts this down are Brainwashed and Mindless!! They wouldn't reckognize talent if it walked up and slapped them on their ass.

Jon Olivia is the definition of Composer.

  • @rewind721 sorry, Type O = Jon Oliva

  • i holding on tight to world gone astray

  • Not NEAR enough views. <3 Savatage <3

  • Savatage made some of the best, progressive balladry ever. They helped start the prog metal genre, but infused it with a musical approach like that of Broadway. I'm sorry, they deserve to be so much more famous than their spawn, Trans Siberian Orchestra. Jon Oliva possesses one of the most distinctive, emotional voices and his brother Criss remains to be one of the most underrated guitarists. Long live Savatage!

  • One of the best power ballad ever. Such a talented band. Fuck I miss those days... Can't believe some people disliked this song. I usually respect musical diversity and opinions, but when it comes to SAVATAGE, you 4 morons can't make the difference between a Hyundai and an Aston Martin!

  • σαβατατζ ρε μονιαααα!!!

  • sends shivers down my spine...always

  • I never wanted to know

    Never wanted to see

    I wasted my time

    Till time wasted me...

  • What lyrics,simpley awesome.

  • oooh! a Jackson Warrior guitar!

  • Pure Gold!! I have been a savatage fan for six days now...I took a chance on The Apple store suggestions last week and got "orchestra". Wonderful music played from the heart

  • @rongatai I'm proud of someone ive never met.I take it your young?Dig deep into the Savavaults...its all good stuff. Please pass this onto your friends.you guys have the ability to make this band huge.you grew up on corprate crap and you are gonna get tired of it sooner than most.THIS IS THE BAND who didn't write just to sell albums.they wrote songs.which is unheard of today.most write jingles or movie soundtracks.its all about turn over on your crap.can my crap continue to pay me!!!!!

  • i have never seen this video before, thanks for posting---been a sava fan since 87

  • A master piece forever

  • First song I heard by this band and it is really good.

  • anatrixiastiko apisteuto apla...savatage

  • Happy birthday Jon! For every time I was crying to this song - so many years you to live more. And if you do - you will live forever!

  • Happy birthday Jon! For every time I was crying to this song - so many years you to live more. And if you do - you will live forever!

  • @salahhe

    you're a dumbass.

  • @norinvaux Maybe, but I can sing better then that in the shower.

  • @salahhe Yeah, but can you produce the same emotions as he can. I agree with you he is not he best singer by far but his feel is out of this world.

  • @boxingin Well, not under the shower, no. Most of the times I am alone in it and the rest I am to busy to sing. But there are always people crying at my shows (although I don't really see why) so I guess I can. And I didn't say anything about his feel, I only mentioned the singing. I mostly agree with you, he has heart, he could be really good if he learned how to sing properly, and I believe he can.

  • @salahhe I know you didn't say anything about his feel... I did, I said it. Anyway, I think I read somewhere that he took Opera lessons. Him and his brother were supposely trained in the field of Classical music. If you listen to their song 'Strange Wing' at the end of the song he really sings beautifully! Matter of fact he sounds like Jeoff Tate at the end. Check it out...

  • @salahhe Τζαστ φακ οφ γιου πισ οφ σιτ,

  • Best of the best

  • I sure do miss Criss Oliva. To think what he'd be doing now. Jons vocals and lyrics here are born of pain. I love the line at the end "I've wasted my time till time wasted me" That struck me back in the day and as corny as it sounds, saved me. Made me stop wasting my time. Criss at 3:08 is chilling. BEST band in the world. Saw them when they were Avaar. Man I'm old!!

  • A memory to carry on,the story's over when the crowds are gone...

  • Can the ONE person that didn't like it, explain to me WHY????

  • Savatage........

  • I realy miss the "old" Savatage Band!

    R.I.P

  • R.I.P CRISS.

  • Was für eine unfassbare Göttergabe!

  • che meraviglia di canzone

  • I can not understand people that don´t like this song. I think it´s one of the most beautiful songs ever.

  • Nobody can play Criss' solos properly but him

  • savatage mãi là ban nhạc mà tôi thích nhất....

  • Why the hell did Savatage never make it to big arenas? This band should have ruled the metal scene.

  • LEgendary band indeed it's a shame they didn't get the right recognition. They were still touring without the legend Criss Oliva after his death but decided to disappear after 2002 I wish they reunite and make a strong come back! Jon Aliva is also such a legend!

  • @DrFlaxWebFLOO such an underrated band...

  • it is the fate of the most brilliant and talented artists to always be neglected. Savatage have not only composed a lot of incredible songs that affects your heart regardless of how many times you have listen to them, but also wrote the some of the best lyrics there are which by understanding them make you a better person.

    But that is just me...

  • just wonderfull :)

  • WOW... AMAZING SONG!!

  • ive seen SAVATAGE 12 times. one of the best live bands. PERIOD. this song has soo many memories and has got me through some rough times. thanks john for the lyrics.

  • YOU ARE SO LUCKYYYYYYYYYYYYY you must be from Florida!

  • Best Band this world will ever see.

  • @JACKSONAXER

    I totally agree on that!

  • Just lovely ....

I have to ask my doctor give me a medicine reason not to listen Savatage ... my heart is going to split apart when I'm listening to Sava's music!

  • @avreon lol, I tend to think Savatage in itself is a good prescription for illness--and no drugs required.

  • Numeri 1!!!

  • This is one of the best ballads in the history or rock , only 9000 views?? you must be kidding me !

  • Now it's OVER NINE THOUSAAAAND.

Anyway, fantastic song, absolute masterpiece. So glad to know this band...

  • da brividi.........grandi savatage!

    Criss RIP

  • Sooo underrated...Savatage forever!

  • RIP Criss;

this is my fav band!! hope Jon reunite the band abd record another album

  • Sweet, The infamous white Charvel (without the rose) is in this video.

  • Holy fucking shit, is that Jon?

  • I was at the theatre the night they filmed this, Coronado theatre in Rockford IL. I used to live above the theatre in an old studio apt when i was 18 and a door outside my apt opened right into the theatre. I sat in the balcony and watched take after take for hours, it was pretty cool, you could feel the flames from the flash pots all the way up in the upper balcony.

  • Must've been magic! Did they do all of it with playback? I'm pretty sure they must have, but chance could've had it that you got to see Jon and Criss belting out vocals as well as killer guitars live!

  • On their break we got to talk to them, get autographs, and the drummer gave us a severe lecture on how music business is all BS and they don't make any money, you have to have a back up plan. He told me about his part ownership in the business that was making his drum rack at the time.

  • It was all playback to tape, drummer was really hitting though. I didn't really fully appreciate the band's music at the time,I only knew of Hall of the Mountain King, which I thought was cool, but they were very nice. I remember at one point they seemed bored because of take after take and instead of playing along to the track they just started moshing in circle, pushing, throwing elbows, etc. a 4 man mosh pit.

  • hahahaha, good memories there! But you can go "There you have it kids, even in the 80s, musicians already weren't making mokey"

  • oh man. "even in the 80's"?

even mozart was a broke fuck, compared to servants.

musicians have NEVER made serious money. =P

  • @LeperMessiah247 well the rolling stones made lots of money. and they are lightyears better than this cheesy powerballad shit...

  • @guitarbastard yeah, and how many rolling stones are there for every homeless kid putting on a show down on the corner and sleeping on someone's couch?

  • @guitarbastard Well we all have our opinions as to what we like as it regards musical mood, taste, or atmosphere. If you like the Stones so much, then why don't you go promote them on a Stones-related video thread. This thread is obviously for Savatage fans.

  • @guitarbastard well man i just can t understand you... you can t say that this song is bad... ok it might not be your style but this doesn t mean that its a bad song... rolling stones is one of the greatest classic group in rock history and their time has passed... so why cant be a little beat more open in new groups and ideas in such a bad quality music times that we are leaving?

  • Brilliant.

  • Hoffentlich zu hören in Balingen, Juli 2010 beim Bang your head!! turn thrm on again!!!

  • GREAT SONG...GREAT VIDEO

  • the girl in the video..........isnt she dawn oliva?.....chris wife

  • Isn't a section of those lyrics directly from Believe?

  • Accually When The Crowds Are Gone is from 1989(Gutter Ballet) and believe is from 1991(Streets: A Rock Opera) so the lyrics are originally from When The Crowds Are Gone

also: Alone you Breath(1994: Handful of Rain) shares some lyrics with believe

    all of them phenomenal songs...

  • Yes they correspond. Those lyrics must meant alot to person who wrote them ,that is why its repeated

  • Simplesmente maravilhosa!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • jon oliva said once, that he spent 1,5m dollars to keep savatage alive. strange isn't it? that kind of good band is not popular enough. what is wrong with the people i don't know .

HEY THERE IS BAND WHICH ROCKS !

  • Posiblemente una de las mejores canciones que he se han escrito jamás

  • b4 I could'nt have said it better. Thank you my friend.

  • damn this song is pure genious, Criss is my true inspiration for lead guitar.

    R.I.P Criss.

  • Savatage was an important band because they never compromised their musical integrity. This video is proof of how creative the results can be when bands follow their instincts.

  • Absolutely right man. Just see their musical versatility in just two albums: the mountain king and the gutter ballet.

  • Brilliant video thx man.\m/ \m/

  • this was the 1st song i've heard of them!!

    i absolutely ADORE it!!!

musiciens like them don't exist anymore...

    I miss Criss..!R.I.P

  • beautiful music *-*

  • This song makes me want to find any living band member and just just tell them You're fuckin awseome! I don't care love savatage too, Fuck you!

  • This Song makes me shiver over and over again!A milestone in music history!Brillant!

  • Very good *****

  • One of the best songs in metal..ever...

  • great song--------this is how a power ballad is..........stronger then death

  • descanse em paz, Criss! =/

  • hidding video on this site! this is so fucking amazing! RIP Criss!

  • These guys should be huge!!! I just don't get it.

  • They are now, but not as Savatage. In 1995, they released Dead Winter Dead which had a track called "Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)" on it. No one would play it because of the band's name, so it was re-released under the band name of Trans Siberian Orchestra. Savatage's last studio release was in 2002.

They were very big outside of the US, but fame at home wasn't gonna happen since everything had gone alternative and "NU Metal" by that point.

TSO is one of the most successful acts now :)

  • MADDCWBY, I used to think so too, but now I suspect Savatage couldn't be more loved among people in the know. The problem with the world is not that Savatage should be more popular, I believe the problem is that most people are just easily pleased with far lesser talents. Similarly, it is probably these same people who would actually prefer to fill up on fast food over gourmet if given the option at the same price.

  • @b4ihang i totally agree with you man!!!

  • @b4ihang Wow.I'm always trying to reason why the world doesn't get the Savatage sound.i think you have hit the nail on the head.we live in a lazy counrty(usa). Our food is packaged fast our media is packaged fast and the music as well.people don't have the time to slow down and actually listen to music thats not thrown at them via MTV and Radio. If Savatage was on the radio they would be huge.i ask people all the time want bands they like...most can only say the CRAP they hear on the radio..SAD!!!

  • @gimpy204 They did get it...when it was repackaged as Trans-Siberian Orchestra.

  • @b4ihang thats oh so true, hense why alot less talented "artists" have so much fame, and probably why the music industry today has been taken over by them, as theyve all followed each other like sheep really just for fame and money in my opinion.

nice analogy by the way. \m/

  • really ,really good song ....the best ive heard from these guys....
