@kosolo1988 Nas and Common aren't mainstream...I don't remember ever hearing them on the radio. And even if they were mainstream, doesn't mean they're sellouts. Kanye isn't a sellout, and Lupe wasn't before Lasers.

Hey, I’m a young artist, and I would really appreciate it if everyone would check out my original compositions “My Bluest Sky” and “Será.” “My Bluest Sky” sounds a bit like a cross between “Irreplaceable” by Beyoncé, “Water Runs Dry” by Boyz II Men, and “Tell Him” by Lauryn Hill. And “Será” is, of course, a Latin number that is very high energy, hot-blooded, and extremely unforgettable. Thanks!
@petercow2000 "A few New York niggas/catz that did her in the park" is referring to where hip-hop got its start, with Run-DMC and other Brooklyn/NY artists.
He's the first mainstream person I know with a Underground Hip-Hop feel. I was introduced to him today, I feel great I found this guy now knowing there are still some good parts of mainstream.
@HistoMagouri Common Sense ain't really ever been a mainstream rapper. Mainstream wasn't listening to Soul by the Pound and like the whole resurrection album. Ressurrection was pretty slept on when it came out except this track. Like Ice Cube he just kinda parlaid rap into mainstream acting.

Pretty ironic. Common fell victim to the same criticism he's talking about in this song. This song is amazing because of the words but he wants to keep out the second verse and put in a product's name in it. Then he wants to cut out some words and try to add in some fake soul.
This song is more than 10 years old and in those 10 yrs common changed. He doesn't belong to this song anymore.
@Dendenmooshi What product are you talking about, he just chanted some hip hop phrases, and what song of his has betrayed the idea of this song? If your thinking about UMC then you missed the whole message of UMC
as great as hating on bieber is, we need to get at whats killing rap these days.

Because sometimes there is going to be a drought, so you have to lay low and play slow until it comes back around. So it is what it is.
kanye west copied his first line "i met this girl when i was ten years old, and what i loved most she had so much soul" kanye west in his first verse in the song homecomin he said "i met this girl when i was three years old, and what i loved most she had so much soul. listen to it! kanye west copied common
