It's a no brainer: Manipulation of inflation statistics due to substitution, geometric weighting & hedonics. 10 year US treasury bond yield is around 1.7% as of 10 Oct 11. Global production of gold peaked in 2000. The global population is still growing at around 1.2% p.a. The middle class in India & China are growing. I would buy gold over US treasuries any day of the week & twice on a sunday!!!
