(part5) Matter where i go . Now its been over 10 years since i been back to T.O and my wife and i will be driving there in August some time and the first place i will be hitting up is my old house Maple Leaf Gardens :) and showing my wife where it started for me and the love of hockey . Thank you so much for taking your time and reading , and heck when i come back home for a couple weeks it would be cool to meet you :) . Thank you .
@mazdaman1982 WOW! On behalf of the team at WeWantACup thank you for the support and the wonderfully spirited message! I've had the pleasure of touring the re built gardens a couple of times and I must say even though it's a Loblaws, they've done a great job in preserving the the history (giant blue maple leaf made up of old seats from the gardens, a spot marking the original location of centre ice, and some original brickwork). Your response is much appreciated! Cheers and all the best!
(part4) skate there. Now to me this is a fresh start , a new franchise was adopted hear in winnipeg and sadly to say they had to name them the Jets but considering that they named them after the 17 wing Air Force i am up for that cause the old franchise was named after dick lol , this team is striven by Passion and there is a hunger i like and that hunger reminds me of my Leafs days when i was a kid . I will never ever forget where my Hockey routes started and they will always be in my heart no
(part3)it just was not feeling the same and in 2000 Wendel Retired :( with the Leafs witch to me feels right cause to me he was and is the Greatest Leafs to wear a Leafs Jersey ever we all got our greats and he was myn .I was so lucky i got to skate at Maple Leaf Gardens 3 times and to me that was a Dream come true to me , i remember every time i was going to leave the ice i would go to dead center ice and look up at the Score board saying thanks to the old Lady (the Gardens) for leting me
(part2) where my players to , the years when on and in 1998 1999 my father and i moved back to winnipeg :( where there was no NHL nothing but at the same time the Gardens where closing its doors and to me that was painful :( to watch the very last game vs Chicago , it broke my hear and actually killed my Leaf Pride , to me the Gardens is where it all began, from the Cups to where i started to love the Leafs ,but when 1999 came and the Doors closed my heart just started to fade very slowlycause
i really like what your doing hear , Maple Leaf Gardens was my second home when i was a Kid , my father was originally from T.O but he moved around when he got older and i am originally from Winnipeg but never a Jets fan from the old Franchise i could not stand them , i remember just before i moved to T.O in Late 1993 i went into winnipeg Arena with a Leafs Sweater on lol it was priceless , Wendel Clark was my player but he got traded in 1993 to 1994 but we still had Felix and Gilmore thows
Hey Matteo!! Great video man!!! I did not know the Leafs when they played at the Gardens ... but that should be a venue that meant a lot to Leafs Fans ... like home for us!!! It is sad they could not keep it as a hockey venue ... but I think that it is better to use it as a store, than to leave it closed. Loblaws just have to keep the hockey spirit of the building ... maintaining pics of the Gardens, etc ...
I don't have a favourite memory as any time I have been inside MLG was a awesome time , the history, the atmosphere..you could smell the hockey in the building
Let it stay it's historical! Don't tear down leafs history!

Great show, keep them coming. Many many memories as a kid at the Gardens, wish I had bought something at auction as keepsake but prices were crazy
