@fosutasu Would need to know how much wattage your power supply can put out, whether your motherboard has the right slot, how much RAM you have, and what CPU you have.
I still have a AMD Athlon 64 3500+ (S939). My X1950 broke down on me, so I was thinking about getting a 4770 for 60 euro. Will this be a significant upgrade, since my CPU is bottlenecking?
hey pc i have a question, when ever i replace something either it be a video card or soemthing, there is always a open slot in the back of my computer, does that contribute to dust or lower performance?
@KronoReaper you might want another fan on the inside, mine runs at 37c idle and 49ish stress, but i run my fan at 100%, and that's with a slight memory overclock. You should try to stop your components going above 60c
Can someone help me. I'm thinking about getting this card. Can I run MW2 on average settings. I have an intel quad core running at 2.4 Ghz and I have 4gb of ram.
So if i get this card can i run MW2 on average settings. I really need to know. thx
you couldnt run Crysis warhead enthusiast with a 4770? really? i ran it on enthusiast, all AA max out, with a 4670 and a core i7 860 all stock settings. i got like a 24FPS average.... it was pwn... i sold it though and got a 5830
this card over here doesn't seem to drop in price. Since it's been a year since this video came out, I would buy a 5770 for some extra euros, you get an HDMI port, scales down considerably in 2d mode (only 18 Watts). This would be great with my cheap 770 MSI and a Phenom II 555. I'd better dump the 955 BE, because it's merely hot and useless! Great work ATI!
Hey i have a 400PSU, will this card run fine on it since i heard that ATI cards dont actual need what ATI says on the product half the time. Can anyone tell me if i can run it?
@PCWizKid I know someone who runs it absolutely fine on a 300W psu that came with an cheap pc case, ofcourse it also depends on the rest that is in the system =)
hi this is me, again again. i got a CPU. the amd phenom 965 be. very nice. now i need a new GPU: i only have one PCI slot, so what 1 pci slot good gpu do you recommend? please respond thank you:)
tigerdirect delivered it to me just now, the xfx 4770 version didn't come with a dvi to hdmi adapter or a crossfire adapter which sucks. i'm using a nexxtech adapter and i'm getting no audio. if you guys are getting this card do not get it from Tiger Direct get it from NewEgg or NCIX instead.
Hi Mate, You know the Graphics Card ATI HD 4770, Could it run on this PC: Emachines E3048 2GB Ram, 320GB Hard Drive ????? by the way it had 512mb ram and i upgraded it plus the hard drive
my power supply has 350 watt....would my power supply suffer this??..... hope you can help me! :D my system: processor: intel q6600 @ 2,4ghz memory: 2x ddr2 -> 2gb HDD: seagate; barracuda; SATA; 7200.10; 3,5"; 360GB display: 19" my old videocard: zotac 8400 gs i want to discard my old videocard and buy this HD 4770....would my system suffer this card? thx
i bought the XFX 4770 and have had good luck with it so far. running all my games at 1280x1024 maxed out and i still get well over 100 fps. except for crysis, i get between 30-65 on medium detail but even that makes it look like a 360 calibur game, lol
I ordered Sapphire HD 4730 for my budget build and it's core is clocked at 750 Mhz, instead I recived Sapphire HD 4730 "Value edition" with 625 Mhz core clock. Did I get ripped off?

Thanks for your help. Dont think Ive asked you this before. You seem to know what your talking about so hopefully you could help me with my GPU choice.

@IP1NKYI Hey man, I'm pretty sure that the 4770 is better than the 9800gt in pretty much every way. I think it scores on average 15-20% higher on benchmarks than the 9800gt.
Are them 5400 - 5600 - 6000 Intel Processors? If they are im not really after a Dual Core / Core 2. I got one in my LapTop, I was hoping to get a Quad core in my PC. At the moment that Barebone bundle sounds like a good offer, but i wont be buying anything till the summer so ill see whats out then. At the moment im just doing some research and getting to know the basics of PC Hardware as ive never really looked into the different Hardware available, and what cards are better etc...
One little advice though: Many, well *most* really, applications and games *at best* support two threads (or cores). That means a game supporting two threads will run faster on a 3GHz dualcore CPU than it will on a 2.5GHz quadcore CPU.
This card is amazing. I bought an Asus HD4770 formula model and it´s a rocksolid stable at 925mhz core, 1000mhz memory overclocks. Idle temp is low as 35c and few hours of furmark testing the temp was between 55-57. With only 100 euros I got an card that closes in my old HD 4870 in perfomance. Just amazing!!
YES YES YES, THANKS PCWIZKID!!! I've looked all over the internet to find a card that is proven to run FALLOUT 3 at good quality and decent frames.. FINALLY!!:D
hooly crap!! i bought the xfx - 512mb version today..
Is it any good? well, lest just say that i'm playing fallout 3 on ultra high, on a fucking office pc!!:D seriously, it has a 1.6ghz celeron and 2gb of 667-ram xD that is soo fucking cool, HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! also, i'm running it fine on a 350w psu!! food for thought huh?
while the 4770 has ddr5, and when you OC you can easily 875mhz core clock and 4000mhz memory clock, it also has 640 stream processors while the GTS 250 sadly only has 128.
@halfpol if your talking about core clock, the GTS 250 has a core clock between 736 and 760. the 4770 is 750mhz but people have gotten these things to OC too over 1000mhz.
GTS 250 memory clock is 2200mhz while the 4770 3200mhz
4770 has has 5 times as many stream processors and it's 40nm.
I bought a Powercolor HD4770 today. Works on my 350w PSU and even fully overclocked to Catalyst Control Center limits! (core is overclocked at 830 and memory at 850 mhz)
Been playing Dragon Age at these clock rates for an hour. Although the fan speed is just 33 percent, the heat never goes beyond 70 celcius. This card definitely has more oc potential but I don't want to push it that hard from the beginning.

> ATX Tower Case With 400w PSU
> NVIDIA MCP61P Motherboard
Would a 500 - 550W PSU be enough for this Card?
Thanks in advance.
IP1NKYI 2 years ago
Absolutely. ATI/Asus recommend 450W minimum, and while my PC only has a Athlon X2 2.1GHz, it runs fine with a 400W supply.
What really matters is the amount of amps the supply can deliver , and how stable the supply is.
A good quality supply of 500W is by far desirable to a so-so 650W.

ATI is smart money at this time.

@IP1NKYI Hey man, I'm pretty sure that the 4770 is better than the 9800gt in pretty much every way. I think it scores on average 15-20% higher on benchmarks than the 9800gt.
aef4266 2 years ago
@aef4266
abaut 5-13% better 9800GT,
But 9800GT in physics benchmarks better,
but overall 4770 better!

IP1NKYI 2 years ago
No mate. They're AMD (AM2 socket) processors. :-)
One little advice though: Many, well *most* really, applications and games *at best* support two threads (or cores). That means a game supporting two threads will run faster on a 3GHz dualcore CPU than it will on a 2.5GHz quadcore CPU.

Is an AMD X2 240 (2x 2,8ghz) too slow for this card? Or what Budget CPU would you recommand?
dharkbizkit 2 years ago
It's certainly better than my Athlon X2 2.1GHz CPU. Emperical evidence suggests that a X2 240 would be quite ok.

Nice no-nonsense review.
You concentrated on key issues from what I could tell.
Got a 4770 myself, lovely card.

Just amazing!!

halfpol 2 years ago
it means you can connect two monitors?
nikosyv 2 years ago
he means that it is INSERTED into one slot, but is as thick as two slots, meaning two slots will be covered when you insert the card.

4770 vs GTS 250 .. which is better?
x2xHalox2x 2 years ago
GTS250 better!4770 = 9800gt +
halfpol 2 years ago
the 4770 kills the 9800 GT
look at some benchmarks.
the 4770 can OC like crazy and can outperform the GTS 250.
the GTS is ddr3 and is clocked at 2200mhz while the 4770 has ddr5 and is clocked at 3200mhz making it faster, overclock better and use far less heat.
FedoraFTW 2 years ago
but 4770 hace 128bit inter face,gts250 have 256bit
halfpol 2 years ago
@halfpol that's one thing.
while the 4770 has ddr5, and when you OC you can easily 875mhz core clock and 4000mhz memory clock, it also has 640 stream processors while the GTS 250 sadly only has 128.
FedoraFTW 2 years ago

halfpol 2 years ago
@halfpol if your talking about core clock, the GTS 250 has a core clock between 736 and 760. the 4770 is 750mhz but people have gotten these things to OC too over 1000mhz.
GTS 250 memory clock is 2200mhz while the 4770 3200mhz
4770 has has 5 times as many stream processors and it's 40nm.
the 4770 is a faster card when OC'ed
FedoraFTW 2 years ago
You dont HAVE to have 550+ PSU BUT its recommended for best preformence and to ensure it allways work as its suppose too.
I'd say 400w+ will do fine, altho if you run more then one card then I'd say trying to get 500+ or 600..
murwaz 2 years ago
I bought a Powercolor HD4770 today. Works on my 350w PSU and even fully overclocked to Catalyst Control Center limits! (core is overclocked at 830 and memory at 850 mhz)
Been playing Dragon Age at these clock rates for an hour. Although the fan speed is just 33 percent, the heat never goes beyond 70 celcius. This card definitely has more oc potential but I don't want to push it that hard from the beginning.
Aragiss 2 years ago
My card is running 850/1000 atm just fine :)
murwaz 2 years ago
in Finland the 4870 is only like 30€ more than the 4770..

Thank you very much for giving me an idea of what to expect.
