  • This video does not do justice to the danger of inadvertently consuming methanol had it been produced in fermentation. If present it would be some of the first to come off. Be extremely careful and don't drink anything you do not know what is chemically it could kill or blind you.

  • BONER

  • so it's not either or,you always hav wine 1st,..shall i tell you what she left out and what she should have said about distillation?she is seems like some kid fresh out of college thats read it out of a book and is doing it for the first time..

  • @ samljer..you idiot ! please do not speak of what you do not know! it's a step process,1-2-3..is that simple enough for you? you start with juice(1) thn it ferments into some form of wine(2) thn (moron)step(3) you get vinegar.you see when air is introduced into any fermented(alcohol)spirit, bacteria from the air (yes it's just floating around)begins to consume the ALCOHOL. once the alcohol is consumed through the magical world of chemistry you get vinegar.SO you see alcohol must be present 1st.

  • Moonshine ;)

  • it's not vinegar or ferment.it has to ferment inorder to turn to vinegar, she does not explain it correctly.

  • @450dump yes she did.

if oxygen gets in you get vinegar instead of alcohol.

either way it has to ferment to get either one.

    It was explained perfectly.

your either unsure of how it really happens, or your hearing is piss poor.

  • Never mind them dear, chin up...and the other one.

  • "Julia, will you come back and do another project with us sometime?" "Sure, I'd love to!" "Great, wear a sweater next time..." I'd wear that to bed...

  • No no no, throw out the first 10 milliters.

  • Lol!!!! she's so right about why people study chemistry. It's not just all about drugs and explosives though :D.

  • If you can control the temperature, Can't you just set the temperature to the boiling point of ethanol? Than you just leave it on and the entire batch will be 100% pure? or just really pure?

  • click it or ticket just one more way for them to slowy take more of our right away

  • Nice tits

  • wow holy shit cutie alert!!!!

  • Wow, she's cute! :3

  • Where can you buy a water distiller thts not 200$ and not from tha internet

  • Where can you find one of those tht aren't 200$ and not off tha internet, bc wth would my mom say if she's seen tht

  • you dont have to remove the carbon filter. in fact, the distilled alcohol will be purer and more neutral if you leave it. Vodka manufacturers use a carbon filter in the distillation of vodka.

  • She´s retarded. Dispose of the first 50 ML because it might contain some methanol(which boils as 64 celsius) segregate the distilled liquor into 500ml containers.

  • Nature was kind to her chest as well...

  • when i heard him say "sober for 19 years" i was thinking that it was gunna change fast.

  • The best way to do this, for apples, would be to mash your own sour apples (Red Delicious, Granny Smith, Fuji, Gala also work; however, if you are going to use juice it needs to be preservative free (organic works), the chemicals will kill the yeast. The fastest, easiest way to do this is with potatoes. Boil pre-cut potatoes for an hour, transfer runnings (you may course filter) to fermenter, cool, add yeast, wait 7-14 days for 5-7% abv, distill, and as noted, dispose of the first oz/gallon.

  • You guys gotta bring Juila Nolan back as much as you can.. Not only is she smart.. but damn she is a hottie

  • She look a bit nervous.... but so pretty...

  • I'd hit it!

  • She is so fake Chemical engineering has nothing to do with Chemistry this shows Systm is so fake and stupid

  • god she is one sexy nerd

  • yea she was the only street actor they could find on the spot that went though highschool 10th grade chemistry

  • She should tighten her bra.

  • always fill the pressure valve with vodka not water

  • If you distill it, don't it waste energy? I think it's cheaper to buy it than make it.

  • Comment removed

  • found that distiller for 65 bucks niggaaaa

  • if it turns to vinegar, will u still get drunk of it ?

  • now we know why strongbow tastes so bad ;)

  • smart chicks are sexy

  • the chick is epic cool, and really smart

  • lucky ass yeast get the live in alcohol there whole life

  • a huge nasty reflux still that does gallons of 95% ABV can be made for less than $119 + s&h... basic pot stills can be made for next to nothing

    otherwise, fairly good vid

  • please tell me he gave her a bunch of the stuff and got her panties off backstage.

  • yes it does work - if you re-distil from the little machine a couple of times - you got very good vodka !

  • alcoholic lmao

  • bunch of alcholics lol

  • crackwhore

  • you know what......i've been making hooch(un-distillated alcohol) for some time and dont want to take the risk with a home made stil.does this really work.....seriously

  • it does. It may not seem that way, but the science for it is sound.

  • @kendo024 Of course it works. Have you ever heard a little word called moonshine?

I wouldn't use that little machine she has... 3 hours for each fill? How long would it take at that rate do distill all of that mash? I'd make a real still, with lots of copper pipe.

  • DO THIS IT'S SO GOOD

i did this, made 4L under my bed in 3 weeks it was like 13% ish

i just bought 4L of apple juice, added half a jar of honey and a little brown sugar... bobs yer teapot.

i did it in 2 standard 2L bottles that used to contain fizzy water, and it only released the pressure every once in a while, it was fizzy whan i drank it.

  • They both look a little tipsy at the start of the vid and go from there LOL

  • this guy is a total tool

  • Wow. I didn't know this guy was still doing shows. I remember him from the screen savers. What a badass!

  • she's smart and making booze , damn , this chick is hot ...guy with annoying laugh , at times acts like a jerk who never touched an alcohol in his life

  • Mormon

  • Haha, wow this chick knows her shit, she called me out on 'both' at 1:10 xD ;D

  • 16:17 heh heh

  • you gotta love how she calles him a light weight at the end....

  • A few more drinks and I think Julia would comin outta that string dress there....

  • I'd pay to see that LOL

  • excellent work!

  • 172 f

  • jesus! its called an airlock

  • i have frends that can maka shine.

  • Yes. She is quite...attractive. YUMM!!!!!!!!!

  • you can get those buckets for free at any bakery or grocery store if you ask them nicely.

  • at mabey the start you should get abit of methanol.........cos methanol boiles at 64.....degrees............and alcohol is 78....degrees...

.so mabey you should chuck away the first bit.....

...do the beer company's try to boil away their methonal...

..so when i made some rum.......at the start there was definitly some methonal...on it way to 78 degrees..

  • how do you make vodka

  • you could make it out of sugar, water and yeast, all u need to do after its fermented is distill it MULTIPLE times for purity and run it through some activated carbon, but rember that on your first distilation, you throw away the first 1fl ounce for every gallon of mash so then you dont get methonal in ur finished product, that stuff can make u go blind and kill you

  • what do u mean distill? i never knew what that word meant? and what's activated carbon?

  • activated carbon is... well.... imagine turning a solid chunk of cheese into swiss cheese..... same thing... they take solid carbon and through a process make carbon full of holes like swill cheese.....the carbon itself is the exact same... just they have made a solid chunk of carbon have tiny holes on it... activated carbon is a very misleading term

  • Why would anyone do this unless they already had the water still? Drill a hole in a crock pot lid and add 3 ft. of copper tube and you have a still for $25.

Also , if you're distilling at home, I wouldn't get fancy. If you're going distill, why not just use a pure sugar and water mash and get 95% alcohol? I would have left the charcoal filter in to get cleaner alcohol. You can use it as a safer alternative to rubbing alcohol, as well as fuel for lamps and engines, and you can drink it too!

  • @TheRealPlutoniumBoss yeast need more than just sugar and water to survive.

  • will vodka explode if you put it in one of these distillers? i realized i have one at home

  • no vodka is just water and alcahol. the stuff they made here is just water, juce and shit with alcahol at a lower percentage, but the stuf that comes out will light and posably explode

  • Comment removed

  • lol, she's right. Not only am i distilling right now, I got into chemistry b/c I used to be on drugs and I love to blow shit up... i wanna do her... now.

  • @YouMockMe rofl

  • @YouMockMe me 2!!!!!!!!

  • I quote the ignorant pawn by the name of Julia...

"well, [home] chemists either want to make explosives or drugs, and sometimes both, and if its both its usually bad..."

I have a moped that can run on moonshine and veggy oil, and i like to get drunk every few days... Why is it illegal for me to produce fuel for both my ride and myself without "corporate assistance"?

Fuck you worldwide corporate oligarchy, and fuck you Julia (because your a verbal pawn to rich monopolistic slime bags)!!!

  • Unfortunately, her information is quite incorrect and she obviously doesn't know much about distillation of quality products.

  • HummoG ; please enlighten us on what errors where made .

  • Having knowing a thing or two on this subject. You can make a pot still for less than half of what that thing cost. I also almost guarantee that it isn't coming off a 95% either. I hydrometer would more than likely reveal that its about 60-75% at the most.

  • In order for the yeast to want to eat the sugar it needs to be a monosaccharide. The yeast can break the sugar down on their own, but it's going to take more time and it's going to taste bad. anyone who actually wants to make alcohol needs to know this. Boil the sugar in water and a bit of acid, say, citric acid. This will split the table sugar molecules and create a monosaccharide. Add THIS to your "mash" and your yeast will thank you.

  • @sushimaster1 Most brewing for beer is done with disaccharides (maltose specifically) table sugar is already mostly composed of monosaccharides sucrose with some glucose and fructose. I would not add citric acid, I would add yeast nutrients, which allow the yeast to obtain the other necessary nutrients it needs to break down the pure sugar water, which is more similar to mead.

  • thank u so much for showin me this, i shall use this information well :)

  • Oh, and yes she is sexy in the nerdy alcoholic slut style I so love.

  • So if you have a liter of wine/mash stuff that is 10% alchol will you only get 100 ml of pure alcohol or does the distillation process somehow produce more alcohol then originally in starter? At 44 ml a shot that would make around 2.3 shots of pure alcohol or around 5.7 shots of standard 80 proof.

  • The mash produces more alcohol, and some other rather toxic stuff. you can google super reflux still for a sligthly better still than that plastic bucket.

    be careful though.

    cheers

  • about the first ounce of liquid to come out during distillation is methane which you want to throw away. after that, its all gravy

  • yeah. the standard 5 gallon pail from the brew store (22 litres) makes about 2 litres of 80-90% alcohol. You can then cut that down with clean filtered water and make 5 or so bottles of 40 % vodka whicjh you can flavor with essenses from the brew store. Discarding the first liquid is something I've seen and heard, but as the chemist here says, as long as you boil away the alcohol at 65 degrees, you will only get ethanol.

  • oops, 165 F 78C to boil the stuff. Julia says it at: 11:39

  • this not true the first part you must discard because in all alchol porduction other biproducts are made such as acetone and methonol to name a few and they boil off before the alcohol...so you still need to take out 1 shot (one oz) to be safe from every gallon of mash in the still

  • could you use saran wrap or sumthing like that? and like put it really tight on the container?

  • yes. when you make beer, you can use tight saran wrap with a pinhole. Cooper's home brew says its doable. the airlock and bung are just handy, and you can see and hear the Co2 escaping. when it slows and stops it's telling you the fermentation is nearly complete. you still need a hydrometer to get alcohol content readings.

  • i think she looks nice and she is clearly intelligent

  • id hit it too. i dont care if you got bigger boobs who cares. shes sexy and funny

  • @dispensibleyouth totally!

  • @americanboy130 dude!

  • id hit it

  • or you can just stop looking at her tits

  • Yep ,I'm sure the Revision3 producer told the poor to wear something 'revealing' for more views. Its a 'requirement' in media for women. While guys have like 2 or 3 shirts and baggy jeans , women are subjected to tight ,lowcut .. to get any where. Watch any show , mythbuster,CSI, wheel of fortune, anything. Can we say 'archaic double standard' ? =)
