This video is a bit dated. The USCG/SOLAS life raft they show flipping over so easily is no longer used. All newer USCG/SOLAS life raft have significantly better ballasting than the one shown flipping over so easily. The US Navy uses upgraded versions of USCG approved rafts. The Givensrafts offer marginally better ballasting than rafts currently available.
I just wonder why there are no new design for life raft , it is as old as donkey like this video , 480p should be history. the Given's concept is excellent. But I still have the question: why LIFE RAFT is that cheap in comparison with LIFE , The boat costs Millions but LIFE RAFT remains few hundreds or thousand. LIFE RAFT is the most primitive product lasts for over 50 years with minor improvements.
we used this kind of raft when we abandoned our ship in japan caused by tsunami,,,,,this liferaft saves us we are one week riding in it................
This is clear testimony that more Givens Life Rafts need to be in use, and the rest relegated to lakes, ponds, and swimming pools, where they will prove more useful, and less likely to cause needless loss of life.

Nice commercial presentation. I do think the sound track needs to be cleaned a litle bit. The product appears to be superior to anything else seen in the video. Well done.
This is as they say a no brainer, the Givens buoy life raft is the only one I would want to be in. With this knowledge and the help of the Coast Guard to test it it should be the only one approved by the coast Guard.
I never realized how UNsafe life rafts could be. Why would you want to have any of the other rafts after seeing what this one can do? A real no brainer to pick this one if you ask me.
@albertaopa oil rigs have higher standards they dont have rafts they have free fall life boats where they boat is on a slide and it is sent off the rig to get the boat far away from the boat quickly
what if its a 36foot wave sea? will it get destroyed or just need righting if it tips over?
