Thanks for having this up! I'm Anglo-Celt with a dash of Germanic and I'm a complete and utter Atheist but I've always had an interest in this area and wondered why nobody seems to talk about it in schools. Wish more people would realise this history when they talk about the Middle East and Arabic world. Why aren't we taught about scientific history outside the West? Majority of the "miraculous science" was knowledge attained by the ancient greek philosophers, LONG BEFORE both islam and christianity were invented. To be honest the era of the "islamic golden age" had infact nothing to do with islam itself, as the arab lands flourished with science before islam even existed. After it came along and suppressed all intelligent thought, and indeed criticised those who spoke out against it the arabs merely adopted this backwards lifestyle and way of thinking.
These achievements are the products of Islamic teachings that influenced the early muslims which has benefitted mankind as a whole. That negative slander which you have voiced about the most influential man on the face of the earth has on the other hand brought nothing good that man can benifitted from it.

As evident the Arabic number system is not really arabic, Westerners call it that way because they learnt about it from Arabs. It is Indian number system copied by Arabs, Number Zero was discovered in India. Arabs got most of the scientific knowledge from other parts of the world.

I watched a documentry the other week, I live in britain and there are many Islamic schools. In the science class they refuse to teach evolution and even the muslim TEACHER didnt know the answer to a simple evolutionary question.

Listen friend, Science doesnt just guess things, its not just DNA that validates human evolution. Chromosome's contains telomeres which hold on the tail ends of chromosomes. However the telomeres in human chromosome number 2 are in the middle! This means a fussion must have taken place when we seperated from our cousins (Great apes)

I'm Anglo-Celt with a dash of Germanic and I'm a complete and utter Atheist but I've always had an interest in this area and wondered why nobody seems to talk about it in schools. Wish more people would realise this history when they talk about the Middle East and Arabic world. Why aren't we taught about scientific history outside the West? To be honest the era of the "islamic golden age" had infact nothing to do with islam itself, as the arab lands flourished with science before islam even existed. @volound Back then, the language of science was not developed. The Qur'an didnt have to mention things like this. God did mention the formation of planets and stars. Many other things too. If you buy the Qur'an in translation of English, I'd guarantee you'd find text related to Science. Furthermore, In the Qur'an, revealed 1400 Years ago, God spoke about the Moon not reflecting its own light as the sun provided it all. Scientists just discovered that recently. I don't know if this is supposed to take a genius to figure out that bones have to exist before the muscles for this to happen. As evident the Arabic number system is not really arabic, Westerners call it that way because they learnt about it from Arabs. It is Indian number system copied by Arabs, Number Zero was discovered in India. Arabs got most of the scientific knowledge from other parts of the world.
Science has nothing to do with religion. Arabic was already there in middle east long before Islam came in to picture. So the words that stat with Al- are not really islamic they are just Arabic.

@AmxCsifier True, in the past the islamic world was indeed dominant in regards to scientific advancements. However, now that science has moved beyond the theistic fairy tales, its clear that the likes of islam and christianity are lacking in modern scientifical knowledge. For example, we now know how the stars and planets formed over billions of years, we know that humans are in lineage with apes. We know the earth is just a spec within a vast universe.

I watched a documentry the other week, I live in britain and there are many Islamic schools. In the science class they refuse to teach evolution and even the muslim TEACHER didnt know the answer to a simple evolutionary question.
It was truely sad.

@AmxCsifier In some islamic schools in britain, the children are taught that the Quran is the perfect science book aswell. These children are growing up ignorant of scientific facts like evolution and big bang cosmology etc...
Sweeden denmark france germany iceland are all secular nations, they have by far the best education levels, lowest crime rates, lowest abortion rates, lowest STI's lowest suicide rates, Best health and life span etc...

However, The American National association of science contains some of the most elite scientists of our time and is still the dominant force of intellect within scientific research. Only 7% of the members believe in a personal god.
I'm not saying all believers are dumber than non believers, but its obvious now adays that religion restricts knowledege!

Wrong! The chimpanzee is our closest relative at 98.4%
Listen friend, Science doesnt just guess things, its not just DNA that validates human evolution. Chromosome's contains telomeres which hold on the tail ends of chromosomes. However the telomeres in human chromosome number 2 are in the middle! This means a fussion must have taken place when we seperated from our cousins (Great apes)

@lmhjs1000 Macro Evolution is a scientific claim worth doubting. There are valid criticisms for it. Ibn Khaldun wrote: "One should then look at the world of creation, it started out from minerals and progressed in an ingenious grandeur manner to plants and animals." That's 400 years before Darwin.
Even if evolution is true, that doesn't disprove of God's existence.
