  • People who claim to be all techy and put "reasoning' behind why FumeFX is better don't actually know jack shit about what they're talking about here

You only compare them because they're generally used for creating fire and explosions.

FumeFX does fluid simulations, with fire and whatever it is or without it, Afterburn is doesn't do any simulation, it's function is only to drive particles and enable shifting to the look of the particles. A good artist would know how to make use of both properly

  • @bbelilovsky AND most people here are completely retarded and use only knowledge learned from youtube. Afterburn and FumeFX are made by the SAME company, and are meant to be used in conjunction with each other like you said.

  • FumeFX and Afterburn are both produced by the same society (sitnisati) so they don't do concurrance each other.Fumefx is a gaseous fluid simulator(used for fire and smoke or stuff like that) ,Afterburn creates volumetric particles.afterburn is mostly used for huge explosions, fume fx can also do them but a similar simulation with fume fx takes 10 days, with afterburn it take sonly few hours/minutes.......that's the difference.

  • @ventHARAS Hey, this makes me think of a certain person named "Kiroswan"... I told him once that placing hate comments for no actual reason was kind of stupid, which resulted in him flaming and trolling my profile for over 2 months (while also creating new accounts to keep it up, since after a couple of days, i got tired of it and blocked his account(s).)

  • @IngwarCRO

    idiot

  • nah. FumeFX grandly pwns AfterBurn

  • I would have to honestly disagree with that statement. AfterBurn does somethings which Fume cannot do I.E. Controlling the out come of your explosion by using stick particles A feature fume does not have. If you do it correctly it would look flawless. Fume FX mostly for fires, small explosions and squibs. Afterburn you can pull off alot of bigger explosions fume cannot do. Pearl Harbor the movie used AB, The Movie Knowing. Armageddon etc. One movie that did use fume was Rendition park Explosion

  • maybe, but for the real "high defenition" you're gonna need FumeFX. It offers more realistic smoke and fire behaviour. Of course, if you want just a enormous explosion which looks good enough to fake the eye, AfterBurn is the choice for you! But i think FumeFX goes for the realism and AfterBurn for the "coolness".

  • Lol @Kramer213

You can double FumeFx up with any particle system and, if you know fluid dynamics like me, then you can program directly into into it's UI. This means that you have an infinite array of instances... ie. unlimited possiblitys....

Although I still think afterburn is cool, FumeFx is way better.

As long as you have at least 12 gigs of DDR3 1866 mhz ram and 2 intel i7's overclocked to a base clock of 200...if not...afterburn is for you.

  • @Kramer213 fumeFX does do huge explosions..I'm sorry but it is better

  • @snipperbes fag

  • @ventHARAS Ah.... this is why i hate Youtube, because 80% of it consists of overreacting children who are completely incapable of conducting a normal conversation without immediately raging out.

  • Too black imo.

  • nice :p

  • quite nice. Congrats. :)

  • One of the best ive seen.

  • Cool! Looks very very nice xb!
