Interesting bit of info about this engine. She and the Walter E. Disney are the same wheel arrangment and have sequential serial numbers (58444 and 58445) They were side by side on the shop floor back in the day, ran for the same railroad in Mexico and are once again running together
it smells like your at a gas station pumping, sickening smell, the ride is not the same when you get headaches and naseua from that smell. what happened!!!
the camp ground train was a better feel too!!!! yuk!!
Anyone who is really interested in Walt Disney and his love for trains should check out the Carolwood Pacific Historical Society. It is headed by Michael Broggie (the son of the imagineer this engine is named for) and his wife Sharon.
Yes, the 4 Disney trains are authentic narrow gauge equipment built by Baldwin in Philadelphia and put into service at the United Railroad of the Yucatan from 1916 thru 1928. They were brought back to Florida circ 1969/70, rebuilt and put into service. See Wikipedia for more information.
@h0troddude not exactly... these are what you call, "Narrow Gauge" Meaning the distance between the rails is smaller than Standard gauges across the US. Besides, these train drivers are only about 36inch wheels, indicating they could have a top speed of about 30MPH.... Not to fast in that case. Still, it would be fun to imagine the Roger Broggie bringing parts from Imagineering in California to Florida.
