The funny thing about this is back when this trailer came out, we never thought the graphics and gameplay would be like this. But when the game came out, it turned out to be even better than the trailer haha. Killzone 2 and 3 are fuckin awesome.

Graphics in games have not even come close to looking like this CGI video. The closest it has come was crysis1 but that is riddled with tons of low polygon count shrubbery. the volumetric smoke displayed in this video has not been achieved nor has the animation quality. The Parallax mapping shown here has not been accomplished to this degree. The only similarity of graphics from this video to current games is the character models. I'm sorry guys but games that look like this are a few years away

KZ3 was ok. It just didn't do anything special. KZ3 only continued the story from KZ2 and added some more stuff to multiplayer. Which I did enjoy the latter. but still, it could have been better. It was more like an expansion pack charged at full price.

@plutoend99 In terms of graphics and the intensity of the combat environment, Killzone 2 lives up to this trailer however this trailer generally has a cinematic and polished feel that the game doesn't quite capture. If I were you, I would just get Killzone 3 because it is very similar to KZ2 but with a better story and more graphical and gameplay diversity and the story is simple enough that you shouldn't worry about being confused. Hope this helps.

The graphics literally still hold their ground today with most games and the story is intense, the characters are outstanding, the atmosphere is absolutely incredible imo, and the multiplayer "was" fun. Killzone 3 improves on KZ2 in almost every way except story, intensity, atmosphere, and just having the unique feel KZ2 had. Music is wonderful in KZ3 too, but I think KZ2 is by far the best in the series.

@MutaFukinBadAss The game has sluggish or slow controls because that's how it was made. Call of Duty on either console or PC does not feel like Killzone 2 because they were made differently, and doesn't have to do with fps.

If u complain about the controls in Killzone 2, then you just suck and can't get used to it. (Not you personally but the people that critize the controls.)

The campaign was decent but the multiplayer is where the game is just legendary. So chaotic and fun, just awesome

this was just to hype people up they didnt have much of a layout for kz2. honestly it's more realistic. by the end of the video most of this guys squad is dead. when ur squad leader(first guy u see) gets shot under the bridge(the guy who says aim straight keep ur fire low) took command. he didn't have many men left so he have the disperse order. they joined other companies the guy ur shadowing joined the cave. also the fact that u hear 8 people yelling ontop of expulsions along with radio threw

@murtaza6169 The idea is that Killzone is the Halo of Playstation... after MS bought out the original Halo slated for the PS2, Guerilla took the same engine and similar gameplay mechanics into their own games so that PS users wouldn't feel left out. Believe me, after playing the KZ and Halo games, it's tough to choose. I can guarantee PS3 only users that they aren't missing out on anything special. That said, KZ3 was fun as could be, and so was Reach.

The only reason you can bring the fact that 360 has "better graphics" is because of the 360's CPU. Without that Xenon CPU the 360 is a real shit. The PS3 can handle anything and if Gears were to transfer to the PS3, using the Blu Ray capabilities Gears would have "better graphics" than it had on the 360. Since the PS3 uses its CPU alongside the Blu Ray technology - it makes games more intense (talk about exclusives).

Why? Because it takes up 40 GB of Blu Ray space. The heavily modified havok engine for KZ2 may not run well on the 360. The render detail will produce a lot of hiccups on a normal disc. If anything the graphics may be compressed onto a Dual Layer and will look like crap. And third, the company is bought by Sony so it works solely with Playstation.

Yes some games look incredible but I still havent seen a game which has blown me like this demo. But games will look like this on the ps4 for sure, no doubt. This is known as a "target-render", which was created and rendered in CG, and was made as a reference for the company's goal for the final look of the game. And graphics of this level are possible on next-gen graphics cards, however, we still don't know how powerful Sony and MS want their consoles to be; we can only speculate.
