Mr. N.Ram of Hindu says in the first part that while exposing bofors and other cases he didnt take prior comments from related people, which is hypocritical of the standards he is following as in the second part he says these mistakes by journalists would not have been tolerated in FT or NYT. If you yourself dont follow particular standards, then you dont have any right to refer them to others.

Now Rajdeep Sardesai is criticizing Open magazine for not taking permission from Barkha before publishing those reports. Rajdeep is now raising 'larger' questions of corporate interference in politics. He is now shifting the debate from media scrutiny to corporate scrutiny.
