@bh5496 I think it was set around the 1970's. If you've seen the 2nd movie, Rachel Keller went to investigate and found Samara's birth mom at a mental institution, still alive. I think she had asked the staff there if there was anybody who had been there for 30+ years(?) that would know something about Samara's biological mother. Also, Anna killed Samara because, well, Samara was evil.
