That is soo sweet. Once me and my brother found this baby Mockingbird. We put it in a cage with the top opened really wide so no cat can get it.Next thing we know the Mockingbird was gone because the mother came back. One day we found the same baby bird on our deck. :' )
About 5 weeks ago,I suddenly noticed a nest in as azalea bush 3 feet from my front door.A week later,3-4 eggs were there in the nest.1 week later, they were little babies that could barely hold their necks up to be fed. They got stronger and larger day by day.Today, about 17-18 days after hatching, they left the nest.
Will the nest be used again? Will the chicks "keep in touch" with the parents?
I have same thing going on right now in my backyard. 3 baby robins. Mom and Dad very protective and "ALWAYS feeding them from dawn to dusk. I help and dig worms for them to. I taught momma robin to look in a particular place where i put them and she does. Also a neat fact is the momma takes the baby birds poop away from the nest. It is solid not liquid and drops it 20 feet away from the nest.
how old r they at 2:51? cuz i once saw 3 dead robins on the ground and 1 alive, its parents was guarding it and they attacked me by trying to poop on me(black poop or berry) next day the birdie was dead..
sadly... i found a nest and watched over the babies but they died... their eyes werent even open but im going to look where i find nests today to see if theres little guys there, im bringing a camera to show off but i wont tell where they are
It reminds of my childhood: my parents allow a pair of starlings to build a nest on our porch. What an experience that was, watching the little ones grow and leave the nest.
I saw a robin collecting grass and twigs and piling these atop the Y branches of a crepe myrtle tree in my yard. I want to chronicle the whole process but the tree is a bit high and I do not have the fancy equipments to do it.
I watched this whole video. Thanks for sharing. Now i know what to expect.
I have a Robin's nest in my pine tree. It's not that high and even I can see the eggs by just looking over it. There are four blue eggs and I'm afraid that my neighbor's cats or dogs might scare away the mother for good or actually knock down the nest. Any suggestion on what I should do or let nature take its course?
Cute little birds. 'Sigh' I'm afraid I have my hands full right now. Just got back from work and found a baby bird. Probably a robin. No one would take it in, so I'm at home feeding it and now it's sleeping. It eat no problem. But I have to keep it warm somehow. I had no choice. There was no nest I could find nearby and no parents. Person said parents must've kicked it out of nest for lack of food but I couldn't find nest. It was keep it or let it die. Now here it is w/me in my care.
I just got to say that i love it !! I have a nest to at my home and i will soon put some videos but how did you sooo close of them the parents must be frightning no??
Thanks for sharing, sorry to hear your ending. We had cats get our little ones last year. They have been nesting here for 8 years... two years we had unhapping endings.. but most are happy... cross our fingers... thanks for sharing.. good luck with the next brood.
Hi there, stay tuned a new HD version is under way, the 4th egg was laid two days ago.. the hatching should start in 10 days.. then 2 weeks of growing up... It looks awesom in HD.. crossing our feathers for a full nest... thanks for sharing.. cheers..
Sorry for the late reply.. they had two batches of eggs.. the mother will remove the unhatched eggs from the nest.. or the weakest of the 4 hatchlings usually gets the boot... survival of the strongest...
wow that was beautiful. a week ago i found a destroyed nest on the ground and a cat was attacking it. i managed to save 2 out of 4 baby robins. the mom never came back, and so i spent every 20 minutes feeding them. happy and fat they were :) but i made a mistake... the towel they ususally sleep in must have been wrapped up or sumthing too tight. they both died of suffication. :( one was so close to going free too... it was so cute. they would sit on my shoulder as i did my daily stuffs
Thanks. We too had a baby drop out this year, put it back, only to have cats get into the nest.. nature is not always what we think it should be. Too bad you little fella's were so close. 8-( Thanks for sharing....
They have nested in the same spot for seven years. The camera was within an inch of the birds. Robins are not affected by the scent of anyone around the nest. They are only bothered by predators and continous threats to the nest. They did not perceive us that way. Granted we tried to wait till they were out fetching food... Cheers
Thanks, yes the "empty nest"! They have nested at our home the same spot for 7 years. So we should have new vids shortly, with a bit better quality... glad you enjoyed.
wait a second one egg dirin't hatch
