  • This girl is made of win

  • there is not the problem off money. There will never be enoth money. And the change lies in the change of society. We need to Change how we run the world. We have the tecnology and the humen power to do it. But the system is fu!"#¤d and needs to change :)

  • Bravo! Let's keep the pressure on governments to tax more poor people in rich countries and send it to more rich people in poor countries!

  • She's outstanding. When will our representatives finally stop burying their heads in that sand, wake up and LISTEN! Times a wasting!

  • It is not human transportation that is the cause of climate change, it is our solar system's normal cycle. Wake up people. It is so typical for humans to think they control the climate. The polar ice caps are melting on Mars as well. Explain that one from an anthropogenic view, unless you think little green men are driving Hummers.

  • @gurujmr It isn't that humans "think" that they "control" the climate. It is the peer-reviewed science that has proven (yes, that's correct - proven) that we have changed the climate. We do not control the climate, because what we are doing is making is chaotic and out of our control. I'm an ecologist and it would take me too long to explain how planetary geochemistry works, but climate scientists are well aware of this. You are one among the ignorant bunch that deny yet ignore the facts.

  • @macrodactyl 16 people are morons who failed science, math and logic and who think they have anything relevant to add to a grown-up conversation they don't belong in. Idiot. Keep posting something and I'll slam it right back in your face, homie.

  • @Imajicka1 Sorry, this response was aimed at gurujmr... keep fighting the good fight macrodactyl.

  • 15 people still think the world is flat. ;)

    Awesome speech... MIC CHECK!!

  • @Imajicka1 854 people are fools that have an anthropogenic view of the world, and a narcissistic view in general

  • Is it not obvious the leaders of this world do not give a shit about us? We need a revolution in the way we think or our problems will never be solved.

  • deep cuts now!

  • yes, COA power!

  • I have so much hope in the young generation.

  • Haha, I know Anjali. I'm very proud of her and this speech :)

  • This is to let you people out there know that Ms. Goodman is nothing more than another political Shill for her zionist buddies funding her. I was sad after being an avid listener for more than 6 years to be this naive and so stupid that it took me a very long time to figure it out. It's not what she talks about that matters. It's What she Blatantly Leaves out of content that matters. It's you opinion but Today was a prime Example on the Syrian Issue alone. It's All Propaganda coming from D.N.

  • WONDERFUL Anjali !

    STEH AUF !

Eine ehrliche Botschaft für eine gesunde Welt !

    Stand up !

An honest message for a healthy world !

  • Congratulations ! You are GREAT !!!

  • 4:00 cynical remark from a douchebag

  • @kikhazz That remark what not cynical at all, he actually wen on later to ask why she [they] were not given the opportunity to speak until the end.

  • Not the first one for sure but since things go on like this, she might be one of the last ones who has the opportunity to speak about these things before the shit hits the fan.

It's easy to talk about adaptation until you have no clue what it takes. African people learned to adapt - we wouldn't survive for 3 days out there. (Not to mention all the accompanying effects like diseases, riots, famine, anarchy.)

Hands up if you've ever fought for food, water or shelter. (Movies do not count.)

  • bla bla bla... green propaganda.. i heard this a lot of times... now 2012 is down... they come up this again.. bitch please you can't stop climate change, we adept this or die. that's all

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

  • she's hawt already

  • Voices like Anjali Appadurai's, are soooo welcome to hear, yes??? But they're not rare. They're merely rarely heard or listened to, and/or presented in so-called "mainstream" media. I've been to an Occupy site and have experienced first hand their energy and notions while helping to 'pick-up' and keep the property clean. I was following their lead keep the site together. Had felt and still believe that if it were not for the innovations of the youth wing of the movement, there mightn't be one.

  • and 80% of the hall was already empty...

  • Hooray for staged drama.

  • Global warming is a lie!

  • Wow! This speech can only be described as jaw dropping and roof raising! Ms. Appadurai brings the true passion for the social justice that should be in all our hearts when this issue is seriously addressed, as it should have been in Durban. The fact that is was not is tragic and disheartening!

She is dead on when she insists on leadership from the developed countries that have the resources to develop alternative low-carbon energy solutions along with sustainability-friendly trade practices.

  • How does this only have 4,862 views after 3 days?

  • Brilliant speech - kudos on Anjali Appadurai!!

  • DAMN RIGHT! goosebumps!!

  • shame it wont make a blindest bit of difference

  • Climate Nazi's...If the Science tells you AGW is FACT then you need to start reading your Science books properly.

  • @trekfoam I'll do ya one better, I have traveled to places that are directly affected by this. Regardless if it is man-made or not, humans are still effing up this planet. Also, global warming is indeed happening, our whole solar system is getting warmer as our galaxy merges closer to the milky-way. The matter at hand is whole entire countries are disappearing, as fellow humans, we must do all we can to help.

  • What are we going to do to the climate? Shoot some magical fairy dust into the air and hope something changes? The world changes, humans will either adapt or die.

  • The announcer guy sounds like Severus Snape

  • you are really trying, girl.Next time try to be more gentle. Good people do exist, and I also would love to hhear what you say.Let me rec4.veal you a secret.....All human are good .

    Humbly yours,Love,A

  • this speech is a disgrace

  • This video was originally posted, transcribed and translated into Spanish in "Usted no se lo Cree" website

  • Another brainwashed youth... I apologize on behalf of our age group...

  • This is absolutely amazing great job Anjali!

  • Brilliant young woman.

  • RIGHT ON

  • I'm in love

  • Absolutely the right speech calling for the appropriate sense of urgency .. sadly, there have been similar speeches before from youth reps, like at Rio de Janeiro, 1992, equally moving, equally right .. when will these voices really be heard?

  • Inspiring! and true words.. GET IT DONE!

  • Share this to everybody, now!

  • she rite ON SEXY N BEAUTIFUL N SMART TOO OHHHHHHHHHH -KID GHOST AKA DARIUS J COLEMAN

  • Goverments, Leaders, Lobbyists, CEOs, LISTEN TO THIS!!!

    There is nothing to add.

  • one of the best speeches ive ever heared!

  • Bravo! Amazing! These are the kind of leaders and politicians our world needs now. Congratulations to Anjali from the NGO's in Durban. Keep on the good track!

  • She's a terrorist!

    Detain her immediately!!!

  • Good for her! Although...it's depressing to note that the sparse audience (aside from the group of young people standing in back) seemed to comprise mostly bored-looking seniors.

  • Amen to that.

  • She's so charismatic. Sensational speech!

  • That was SO inspiring!!! I love this girl!! Keep it up! Get it Done!!! I wanna help too!!!!!!

  • This is the future of politics.

  • LOL we have only 5 years, if FUKUSHIMA continues to SPEW out... we are not in danger of CO2... Carbon Dioxide is needed for plants to LIVE, do you understand that the planet would die without life giving gas? And that happens to be the gas we exhale... tax us to breathe? but allow Fukushima to spew? allow burning coal with mercury? allow GMOs to kill people and bees? but heavens don't let that planet breathe CO2 and give us Oxygen, God forbid we live!

  • Those people represent peoples and peoples dont care for words. They have seen so many great speeches... wait for five years and the rainforests will be gone. A nice example for the people of brazil. AND THEY GOOO DDOOOOOOOOOWWWWWN

  • Everyday . Conserve to preserve .

    Water , heat, gas, fuel, Electric . . . . . . .

Get it Done . great Mic Check. . . . wiggle your fingers high .

  • Deluded foolishness. It has been exposed as a hoax and the zealots continue to worship a manufactured chaos.....

  • GET IT DONE!

  • "western world" deems itself "reasonable" but is not capable of undertaking the neccassary steps. oh the irony!

  • All the Kyoto agreement was about was carbon credits when you boil it down...countries like Canada are expected to buy credits from undeveloped nations to offset their emission and on paper it looks good but nothing has changed...it's a shell game to transfer money from the haves to the have nots...nothing more. Not to mention Canada is responsible for a whopping 1.8% of total emissions...How come nobody goes after China ( 23.8%) I'll tell you why..they would just tell you to piss off that's why

  • @brewguy100 Canada? The 2 big is USA and China. The cutting of pollution could cause the change of lifestyle of Americans (or any random wealthy country). It will happen anyway, but with force of the lack of oil and other important minerals. Somebody said, everybody talk about co2 pollution, but nobody want to leave behind his/her car's comfort. The selfishness is the source of tragedy of the humankind.

  • I'm so fed up with coward politicians allowing companies to wreak havoc upon our home just to get a chance to play golf with the CEOs. I'm so disappointed by so called developed countries acting like egoist kids. I'm so tired of waiting years and years for decisions when we're on the verge of irreversible destruction.

    Get . it . done!

  • @joakimikaoj its a fact that companys of rich countrys are outsourcing their CO2-emissons into development-countrys.

Thats one of the points that countrys are complaing of.

But at the end, you r ringht(and she is of course, too)

we have to forget diplomacy and just

    GET IT DONE!!

  • Damn, she's hot inside and out. Save the planet people.

  • This girl is my hero.

  • Regardless if you believe in man-made climate change or not, the issue still stands. The current way of life is NOT and NEVER will be sustainable. The only way to the future is a greener, sustainable way. We must live and work with the Earth, or I assure you it will rid us of it.

  • In regards to the COP presidents remark "I wonder why we did not let 1/2 the worlds population speak first, just only last" you did let 1/2 of them speak....the other 1/2 you idiot. Just because it isn't the 1/2 you want to hear doesn't mean you don't have to listen...asshole.

  • Good job, Anj! Shes my friend's older sister :)

  • ok, I agree with not polluting the earth, but I don't buy this carbon dioxide crap contributing to global climate change. We should not get tricked into paying more taxes to the government for bogus 'scientific' claims.

  • @thebachu786 did you skip your science classes? hint, read up on how co2 works in our atmosphere, then look up what the concentration of co2 in our atmosphere is right now, and how the concentrations have changed over the last years. taxes won't save the current environment, but they will make it easier for humans to adapt to the changes if used in the right way.

  • @slatslatslats No, I love science. Historically c02 has been much higher, and most every claim made in 'an inconvient truth' have not come to fruition. you don't need to paddle down 5th ave. Trust me on this one, the taxes are just a scam to screw farmers and eventualy you into paying more. Aren't you concerned about the numerous climate gate scandles that have rocked the UK?

  • @thebachu786 i'm more concered over our economic system, our overconsumption and the fact that we kill eachother over the paper in our pockets and the pixels in our bank accounts.

  • @slatslatslats I agree with you on that 100% Our economic system is a big problem, overconsumption is a great example of the ills of materialism. I believe having a fiat paper money system allows for us to exploitation at a global scale, be it industry bubbles, shackling the developing world in debt, concentrating wealth etc.

  • 'This morning, a young woman, Anjali Appadurai, took the microphone at the UN and BROUGHT DOWN THE HOUSE with compassion and truth.

"There is real ambition in this room, but it’s been dismissed as radical, deemed not politically possible. What’s radical is to completely alter the planet’s climate, to betray the future of my generation, and to condemn millions to death by climate change. What’s radical is to write off the fact that change is within our reach."

  • Great news. The Pacific, Atlantic and every level of the Atmosphere are cooling. Volcanic and techtonic activity is increasing. Who gives her the authority to speak for half the population of the Planet? Do not be so foolish! man cannot change the Planet's climate at his whim. Past warming was caused by a Grand Solar Maximum. There is no Scientific proof that man has caused the Planet to warm.

  • @david222444 read some more paleoclimate-related research and try again, sir.

  • @slatslatslats What are you some mystic sorcerer? No one repeat no one can foretell the future. At present and note i say at present. The Pacific Ocean is cooling, the Atlantic Ocean is cooling, every level of the Atmosphere is cooling, volcanic and techtonic activity is increasing, the Sun may be entering a Grand Minimum, the Planet's magnetosphere is weak and the Gulf stream may stop in the near future, do not bother me with Co2, it is insignificant. Scientific proof please!!

  • @david222444 my comment wasn't related to the future at all, it was related to your statement that the past warmings of the planet was caused by grand solar maximums, which is incorrect.

  • @slatslatslats Incorrect!! The whole stupid Greenhouse Theory is incorrect, this hairbrained idea has no Scientific proof to it. I have been looking for proof to justify this myth for twenty years and there is none. There is more proof that Santa clause exists. Oh wait you probably believe in him too. Can you prove that the Grand Maximum did not cause the Planet to warm and as a result liberated co2 from the Oceans and biosphere?

  • @david222444 oh, come on. i'm not even going to bother. have fun watching others trying to make the world a better place for your kids.

  • @slatslatslats oh have fun killing the poor and elderly who cannot afford to heat their homes because the price of energy has rocketed due to the green renewable agenda. Learn to adapt to a cooling Planet. A better place for my kids would be an Atmosphere enriched with co2 which would benefit all life on the Planet. Maybe the third world will pay us reparations for past enrichment after all they got the increased crop fertility for nothing. Hope I have made you think for once.

  • @david222444 how about i take your comments into account when continuing my climate research, and you read some more research on our past co2-rich atmospheres.

  • @david222444 Sir this is how easy it is for me to debate with you. You are American, Conservative, and you value right wing American media as your #1 news source. That makes your point of view so small, such a minority, that you wouldn't even be able to imagine what half the planet's population desires. Why can I safely make those assumptions? Because people affiliated with those stereotypes are the only idiots on the earth who would spew the ignorance you promote.

  • @rlidrazzah Wrong, wrong, wrong. this is how arrogant and ignorant you are. Scottish, socialist and studied Biology/Earth and Environmental Sience at University. The point of view so small is politics not Science, concensus is politics not Science. The fact is that there is no Scientific proof to your pie in the sky theory. You are the idiots and concensus is nothing but a challenge to a Scientist. Learn and learn well, the Planet is cooling abruptly and cooling for the longterm.

  • I live in an area where many people still do not believe climate change is happening. Where people do not see how money in politics has corrupted this world and do not see a need for any form of reform an any way. I see this on a day to day basis and wonder why I do what I do. But then I see this, and I cry. Thank you, for speaking on behalf of me and on behalf all of the close minded fear in this world. Thank you!

  • Admission cuts? How many admissions come from war. Stop the wars and save the planet. The UN should stop the US from Patronizing Iran and remove all their troops from the middle east they have no reason to be there. The US is not a defence force and never has been its an attack force.

  • The end of her speech is amazing. Get it done!

  • Amazing speech! I cried at the end when the COP President says "On a personal note I wonder why we don't let half of the world's population speak first - but only last"

  • Kevin Rudd - Deep carbon cuts now!

  • She was wonderful, and the mic check was frosting on the cake. I salute her.

  • I wonder how many tons of jet fuel these "youth delegates" burned to give their little emotional appeal? For God's sake, THINK OF THE CHILDREN!!!

  • As gorgeous, talented, intelligent and well-spoken as she was... I'm sure her little yelling stunt at the end did a lot to reverse her cause. Now her speech will be marginalized as "just another OWS malcontent".

  • There were hardly ANY delegates in that room! Where were they? We need many more passionate people to stand up as this marvelous girl is doing. GET IT DONE! Indeed.

  • The old lady at the beginning should learn to pronounce people's names.

  • This is Epic! Get it done!

  • Incredible speech by a wonderful young woman!

  • Amazing speech. Extremely relevant, and reflecting the sense of urgency and the straightforward and passionate way of addressing the issue. Thanks for covering the story, DemocracyNow.

  • The biggest climate change has been the saturation of the atmosphere by chemtrails, chemclouds with metals. Why aren't these people addressing THAT?

  • @antidoteco Really? Come live with the 80% of the population from my country, Maldives.. try saving your own house while being eroded away!

  • @antidoteco Lol at yourself my friend, willow trees grow in the nothern hemisphere! and fyi, this is my last reply to you.. since I do not want to waste any more time than I already did replying to a racist uneducated sad little person!

  • @aminathshifana - Since when is a Unibrow nasty greasy wife beating Muslim a race? How Is saying something something about a religion racist you environMENTAList stinky LIb-turd?

  • Those that claim climate change is a hoax willfully ignore the evidence all around them. They are dupes, fooled by the confusing propaganda of the energy companies who don't care about the future, but only care about short term profit. The consequences of climate change are so frightening, they'd rather believe the reassuring lies than face the truth.

  • The horn of africa needs stable government and FOOD

  • @PHONEYPOLITICS Foolish ostrich.

  • 'twinkles' btw, for this.

  • Bless you Amy, and democracy now for all the work you are doing. It is very much appreciated.
