You're right "dampen" is fine, dampening... however is not, if you wanted to used dampening like you had in your video the correct word choice would have been damping. just like your fingers would act as a damper, not a dampener....look it up
You are wrong again. I went to a bigger dictionary and found the specific word "dampening", which means the same as damping, except that damping cannot also mean getting something wet.
What voicing do you use for a first position Fmaj6 chord? Also, do you voice basic triads by dampening the 1st and 5th strings like you do with 7th chords?
heeeey, do you have all the voicings written down somewhere? or should i just get the book? and where could i find the book lol?

You're wrong. Looke it up. The word dampen means to diminish activity.

I depends on what I'm doing with it. I don't use the first position chords in big band rhythm playing.
>>>>Also, do you voice basic triads by dampening the 1st and 5th strings like you do with 7th chords? >>>>
Yes, if I'm playing straight rhythm guitar.
