  • the best solo plant song ever made!

  • oh yes, these boys can rock.....

  • Phil Collins did a fucking great job on the drumming for this album...and for those of you who are wondering , that's not Collins on drums in this video, but sure looks like him a little...Collins is a lefty on drums, and had a white kit in the 80's..i know cause i'm a fan of both musicians, and am a drummer myself , who grew up listening to both !..

  • @blica1 Barriemore Barlow (formerly of Jethro Tull) filled in for Phil Collins as PC was off promoting his Hello I Must Be Going album and Phil used his black Premier kit on Pictures at Eleven and switched to the wood finished Pearl drum kit for Principle of Moments and Genesis (Mama Album) before he switched to the white Gretsch kit he would use up to 1987.

  • Fikei com pena..........

  • Cool video but that's not live.

  • Robbie Blunt one of the greats!!!!

  • Who is taht cool looking bass player ?????????????

  • a lot better than the shit he does now

  • God damn great fucking song! And Bob! Great fucking hair!

  • I'm not so sure this is live. The video was, but unless they recorded that track for the CD it wasn't a live performance. Great all the same. I loved his solo work.

  • that dont worry me none no more...........

  • Percy's outfit looks as if it's made of vinyl hahaha

  • Got the album as new release, WBCN Boston played the sh#t out of this...Soooooo cool. GREAT show, too. OMG, I sure do miss those days of my youth and all of the best ever music coming from the era......

  • Oh looook , it's Pheel Colins, Gizzent 'e orgeous, oops slurry, on close up I realeyes my glass is is phucked.

BOBOS is very good, but it is dated, I loved one song on the album, can't remember the name, looking for it. If I'd noon Pheel was to be upon it, I'd never have bought it.

  • plants solo music was brilliant... had heart...soul.,,,lyrics.,,.production........yet now we have the music world taken over by mindless rap/hip hop raw sewage,,,,,,i miss the 80's!

  • this is really no good

  • this is really no goo

  • OMFG i LOOOOOOOOVE this so much!!!!!!!! How awesome to see this, tysvm! <3 xx

  • I think Phil played drums on this recording.

  • @PupuTheClown

correct, basically they're pulling the old "air band" technicque, here this is the original recording with Phil on drums, although Barrie (and Collins) played on Plant's 2nd solo album

  • Blunt and Plant are doing it so nice and cool.

  • Didn't recognize Barrie without his "Gilligan" sailor hat!

  • @Cash2112 AH!!!! A Tull head who knows Barrie is the best!!!! SO AMAZING as a zep head to see him behind Robert!!!!! Barrymore FUCKING Barlowe!!!!!!

  • Robbie Blunt is bad to the bone WHO is that Barriemore Barlow? Come on give him an ACE!!! what a bunch of FUN!

  • Robbie Blunt, another kick ass guitar player that is underated!

  • @TheGuitarStarz

     Absolutely!

  • ' don't you know why its good so' - the guy is a consummate pro - everything he does turns to gold -musically anyway

  • Always loved this song.. nice to see Barriemore Barlow from Jethro Tull on the drums.. one of the best drummers ever !!!!!!

  • Bad Ass Song!

  • Exces paper on one side would cause uneven burn.......Great 80's piece!

    DB burns on all sides!

  • Robbie Blunt

An extremely rare clip of him in action. This is the 1st I've ever seen of any detail.

Wow - the man is truly elusive.

  • @talpajam Search "Robert Plant All Your Love" good one with robbie

  • but really does anyone actually know what this song is about cept another rock song about a chick that broke his heart i guess? eh.. well that covers 80% of all rock songs though dont it! lol

  • The hair looks pretty hip considering it was the Flock of Seagulls era!!! lol Robert's just one true bad ass Rock and Roller right to the bone!!

  • its cool cuz, its the same hair he had when communication breakdown came out! ahhaha. awesome

  • @mr8Lataralus it is the same person

  • i meant the hair-do man. it was in response 2 rodentcafeteria.

  • Fucking bad ass!!!

those were the days, i was twenty and having the time of my life !

    *****

  • I hated Robert's hair during this period. And this isn't live!!

  • I think the hair is not that bad

  • Dont think he ever did this live

  • kick ass

  • He's God!

  • Don't talk about Phil Collins that way... we people with respect for great musicians don't feel like stumbling upon that stuff.

  • Comment removed

  • I wasn't talking about the video being fake, I was suggesting you don't talk about Collins the way you did, because "faggy" is something perhaps a typical immature young teen would say about truly great musicians like Phil... What's next, "crank up some pimpin' Lil' Wayne"? Give Collins a break.

  • Hey you go on "tour" enough in your life your gonna have a few "close possibly gay encounters" Look any sailor in the eye and ask him lol

  • I agree sir. He is a very good man, as a friend and as a long time fan :p

  • However, It is not Phil Collins in this clip.

  • No It is not Cozy Powell. It is Barriemore Barlow, who use to be in Jethro Tull..

  • You sure that is'nt Quenten Tarentino drumming - I thought he had another gig than just video store magr back then- the dog

  • sounds damn hot to me but Im just another rocker/fan - not a pseudo producer/critic ;P

  • one of my favorite albums!!~~

  • This isn't live it's the album version, the song where the producer blew it. He should have had a second guitarist on a Les Paul or something with some decent tone getting this song rocking rather than the gonzo doing jack squat on the casio. Just a strat with that much cymbals made Robbert sound too whiny on this tune, plus he was way overprocesseed. Nice example of primitive video effects thrown in there, and love Jeffery Dalmer on the drums too.

  • Yu got that right Robert Plant IS the SHIT!!!

  • Jezz Woodruff,Paul Martinez,Barriemore Barlow,Robbie Blunt and Plant..Great musicians...

  • Percy looks the same way he did in 1968! incredible lol

  • man this tune puts u way back ,its when i knew!

    ,knew what?

idonno ? but, u knew, they knew, and HE hadda know.

guess? that HE was the Shit !

  • Awesome album! This is one of the best songs from his solo work! Pledge pin, Slow dancer and Moonlight in Samosa all smoke! Cozy Powell actually played on at least one track Slow dancer!

  • agree,especially Slow dancer!

I love his solo stuff as much as Zep, i also enjoy 29 palms alot.

    whats he say after

"consumed by the fire in ur eyes"?

    any1?

  • he says

    Do you know why?

    Goodness no. Why?

  • awesome album,pictures at eleven!!

moonlight in Samosa is the best song of the album

  • Barriemore Barlow is such a great drummer.Strange he is never mentioned when the question of top drummers crops up.Heavy Horses and Stormwatch, his last 2 albums with Jethro Tull, are testament too this.Even the great Phil Collins Drumming on this track is copied note for note.Great music will never die.

  • @darkages1979 I saw Barriemore Barlow with Jethro Tull 5 times and Saw Niel Peart also IMO I thought Barlow was the best drummer that I have ever seen.

  • They played this song as an encore for his 83 tour,I saw it in Dallas,Phil Collins was the drummer in his band.I remember Robert wasn't wearing any socks and he got upset with some in the audience who started lighting firecracker's in the arena during his performance. The only thing close to Zeppelin was when he shouted,

    "Good evening Dallas!

    It's been a long time!!"

He said it just just like on the record,"Rock and Roll" that was pretty cool!

  • Good ear, balddanny72. Sounds like the studio version which Phil Collins did play on.

  • That is because it IS the studio version! Phill's "fills" are NOT being played here. They are being faked.

  • the drummer sounds uncannily like Phil Collins lol

  • why does he look so much older in the 90's? He looks like he's in his 20s here.

  • Agreed...An awesome tune!

  • Freakin' great song!

  • This was a VERY FUN TIME IN MY LIFE W/certain

    PEOPLE!

  • Super, není to ale živě , pouze klip

  • This guitar solo is magic

  • What a fake job.Bogus video.Not Live.

  • Lol...yeah. Robbie Blunt's strat is not even plugged up. But that was typical back then. At least we get to see what it might have looked like if they were really playing.

    Great song. Thanks for upload.

  • Can't take my eyes off of Robert Plant!!So charming,so handsome,.. OH MY GOD! And this song is so beautiful! Robert is always perfect..DAMN A GOD!! :)ROBERT I LOVE YOU

    "Try as I might,try as I may,yes I'll try anything to make you stay.Cause I need your love,yes I need your love"

    OH ROBERT.....STAY WITH ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Can't take much more of this tonight, who's posting this stuff! Marry me!

  • Sad to see him lip sync.

  • @budzy68 Agreed, still a good performance. :D

  • I saw Plant in 83 at Seattle Center Coliseum. Great show and I believe his first solo tour.

  • I was there too! Unforgetable show i can still here Plants echo at the end all the way to the car!

  • I saw these guys back in 1983 at the Philadelphia spectrum They rocked the house!!!

  • Robbie Blunt looked hot when he was younger. I would've dated him in a minute.

  • Love this song! Saw Robert do it on tour in 83, first time I got to see him live, it was pure effin heaven!

  • this isn't live. top of the pops? something like that. but i love all these old solo plant songs. he could write like no one, and his use of melody and inflection. sweet. and the guitar... awesome strat tones and smooth play, very nice indeed.

  • yeah Robbie Blunt was a great choice for his new axe sideman then. i'm gonna crank this record when i get back home tonite

  • I saw this band in the UK at this time and they played all except one track from the Pictures At Eleven & Principle of Moments albums. Great stuff but I remember wishing Cozy Powell was there on Slow Dancer!

Anyone know which show this was from?

  • Robbie Blunt on guitar????

  • yes indeed

  • This is awesome, thanks for posting it. It's hard to believe that this is 25 years-old! Where does the time go? I remember this song and the video for it being played on MTV at the time. I'm really dating myself now!

  • this man has enough talent and intelligence to out last anything jimmy page could ever "conjure" up. robert plant is right up there with david bowie and frank sinatra.

  • "Imagine what 80's Led Zeppelin would have sounded like." .....like this..

  • in through the out door was what 80s zep would have been like... like jimmy page said ''it was a troublesome album to make, a different direction from the one zep had travelled, it shows what could have been...

  • In through the out door, was mainly John Paul Jones Album... According to rumors, Jimmy Page was strung out on PCP, and only showed up to do his tracks, then left. and jonesy cleaned it up.. thats why it is has keyboard throughout the album. Presence was Jimmy Pages Album.

  • Actually Page has been quoted in saying that the next album was going to be very guitar driven like Physical Graffiti and Presence. A good example is 'Shake My Tree' from Coverdale Page, which the music was originally worked by Page and Bonham for the 'next album'. Jones and Plant have often said that In Through the Outdoor was primarily done by them since they always arrived to the studio first.

  • yeah guys... I wore out at least 3 cassettes of this great album, figured out a lot of the guitar by ear... Robbie is my guitar hero! Anyone know of any other footage of him playing, please get in touch with me!!!!

  • WHOAH! This may be some of the rarest and only footage that shows this much of Robbie Blunt! That's GREAT! Thanks!

  • Robbie Blunt has a unique style of guitar playing on this Album.

  • i believe i heard robert,(prior to any music being composed) gave blunt a tape of a female arabian or indian singer ,and asked him to try n learn to play gituar how she sings.

i do believe this to be true 99%, i heard this in the early 80's after the release of this album.

  • Man his voice is spell binding. Imagine what 80's Led Zeppelin would have sounded like.

  • like this

  • Don't let it fool you, it is not mimmed. I can tell because LSD is clearing my head.

  • This is so funny, because theres no Amps and it recorded in some cheap studio and I think there trying not to laugh as to the other video of the same song, but its also kool..I love it,a Great Solo cr..Plant strikes again...

  • whEre's jimmy??

  • This was always one of Plant's best solo songs and man did he look young then( 35 I think). That is Barrie Barlow on drums and he was fantastic if you ever saw Jethro Tull in the 70's thet were truly an incredible band live and on record.

  • Good song, really.

    But it's playback isn't it?

It sounds exactly like the recorded version.

  • I wore out no telling how many cassettes (Pic at Eleven)jamming to this song in the 80"s, really like what you did w/ this. Great song!

  • Great Song

  • never seen this one. Thanks for posting. His early solo stuff was great.

  • It's Barriemore Barlow of Jethro Tull at the drums, isn't he?

  • Yep. Phil Collins played on the albums, or at least the majority of them, and Barlow played on the tours.

  • Pictures at Eleven is a great CD

  • One of my favorite albums growing up

  • Pictures at Eleven is such a kick ass album!

  • robert looks young here...today he looks a little craggy, and have you noticed he seems to have a bad eye or something, but who cares i know, he can sing his ass off!

  • robbie blunt very good guitar player, very underated..hard to follow in Page's shoes though.

Plant's solo stuff really good as well after he split with Page.

  • blunt was and is an awesome guitarist!!!

  • robbie blunt is pretty damn good guitar player

  • The back-beat and groove just KILLS!

  • you said it!!

  • ya man!!!!!!!

  • wow.. i never saw this one.. Much greatful!

cept, this is the cut off the song, he is not singing it live..

  • Wasn't it Phil Collins and Cozy Powell playing drums on this album?

  • I would love to hear this one live. Love the part where it looks like his album cover... something not in the video to this song.

  • Thanks guys; Well at least we got to the bottom of that. I looked it up and apparently Bonzo once refered to him as "the greatest Rock Drummer England ever produced." So it makes sense that Plant would chose him for his solo projects.

  • how about ringo starr? he is no slouch!!!

  • Back in the day when the beatles were the biggest act they asked Paul if he thought ringo was the best drummer in the world Mcartneys reply? He's not even the best drummer in the beatles.

  • Ringo is great, king of the "open hight hat"

  • The drummer is actually Barriemore Barlow, former drummer for Jethro Tull. He is miming to Phil Collins's drum track here but did play on Robert's 1983 followup solo album, "The Principle Of Moments". Barrie played on two cuts, "Stranger Here Than Over There", and "Wreckless Love".

  • Barriemore Barlow is one of the best drummers of all time. Where is he now?

  • Last I read of Barrie's musical projects included a theme he wrote for a soccer team ("football" to the U.K.) during a cup championship. He produces other acts as well. Completists should check out his playing on Kerry Livgren's (Kansas keyboardist and guitarist) 1980 solo album, "Seeds Of Change".

  • Blunt was also a session man and played with Edie Brickell on her late 80's album

  • did he, not sure about that , when?

  • he did play with edie! that is a fact jack!!!

  • Robbie Blunt is the guitar player. But does anyone know who the drummer is in this video. They are playing to a recording of course (w/Phil Collins on drums). But that's not Phil in the video. My guess is that you would have to be a REALLY big fan of Plants to know; either that or a relative of the guy; or, maybe the guy himself. Or, maybe someone who was there that day; or the guy who did the payroll and so had to know who he was giving the money to. Yeah, maybe he knows.

  • Yes it was robbie blunt and bonzo on drums but who was the bass player in the strippy shirt, do you now of him and where is he now?

  • No brother, not Bonzo, Barlow. And yeah, I got the Bonzo quote about Barlow from the Widipedia entry on Barlow. The bass player was Paul Marinez.

  • That's right. His playing on Burnin Down The One Side is some of my favorite playing of all time. Do you know what the guy does now?

  • he plays with helen bonham... robbie is still cookin on his strat!!!!

  • That's not Phil Collins on Drums. Anyone know who it is? Great video.

  • I think its Richie Hayward on drums.

  • How about that guitar solo, and the outro licks. Robbie Mann was a great guitarist and then disappeared after this album.

  • Cant believe he would lip sync. Great video

  • i could not believe milli banilli would lip sync either!!!

  • Cool, I put this up for one of my videos, I didn't know this was here...love it!!!!

  • Sweet!

  • Wow this a great vid, Thanks a ton.

  • PICTURES AT ELEVEN! great album! ThanKs DAVE, very good tastes ;-)

  • Phil Collins layed the drums down on the album.

  • Woww I never saw this before, one of his firsts videos of the 80's
