  • Thank god he fixed this song. As it stands now, it is one of the best of all time. No reggae song can say that.

  • cool bass line

  • the box set was missing some rarities. not cool.

  • Billy's best hands down Anthony's song

  • Whoa! This is awesome The McCartneys woulda loved this. This woulda been his Haitian Divorce. I just got one of those old Solid State radio/record/8track players from a Goodwill. Thank God I kept my 52nd Street 8 track! Zanzibar shoulda been a Steely Dan song

  • I got this version when I purchased My Lives. It's amazing

  • @redmario222 I want My Lives :( Need to save up a bit though... I went a bit crazy on amazon the other day and spent £26 (that I don't have yet... ^^;) on CDs (They all looked so cheap until I added them up! XD)

  • I prefer the other version, but this version is very interesting and makes me smile ( :

    BIG QUESTION MARK HERE

  • Same here, it has something that just makes me NEEEEED to smile and sing along.

As a saxophonist I do kind of miss the solo but his voice is so nice that his little sing-song-y bit in its place is good enough :D

  • its got a pretty good sound. was the original on the demo.i would def listen to it. just shows the talent of billy joels singing

  • This is the best quality version that I could find of this (I've got a reeeeeeally naff one on here somewhere!)

His voice is brilliant on this one - especially the bit in the saxophone solo section ^^ It always makes me smile :)

  • not as catchy and harder to get into this ver x3

  • I don't know... I prefer the other version, no question, but this one does gat stuck in my head and still makes me smile

  • true :3

  • Interesting but man, it's a good thing he didn't release it this way.

  • Yeah, I like this one but I know which I'd rather listen to - I've never much liked reggae-esque beats

  • i like this version better...sweet stuff. thanks for uploading:)

  • Oh, you're most welcome ^^

I think I prefer the version that he finally settled on but this really is just so much fun to sing along to... Shame there's no saxophone solo in this one though :)

  • I'm not a huge fan of this particular version of the song. However, when he sings it in the masterclass concert with a reggae beat, it really works.

  • I prefer the other version but this one's quite fun to listen to :)

I've never actually watched the masterclass concert. I need to do that sometime...

  • One of Billy's best songs..... ever.

  • Thank you for the comment :)

I think I would have to choose Only The Good Die Young and Piano Man as my absolute favourite two but after that I just can't choose - his songs are all amazing! I got Piano Man, 52nd Street and Streetlife Serenade for Christmas and can't stop listening to them! :D

  • Who! Really? I got one CD for Christmas with the Hassles' promos on it. ONLY ONE BILLY JOEL CD!! ;( Nah, kidding. I wasn't that sad. XD

My favorite song by Billy is Big Man On Mulberry Street.

  • Oops, I meant to put "Whoo!" not "Who".

  • I'm glad he changed it to the current version.

  • I agree - this one's fun to listen and sing along to but it's nowhere near as good as the version on the Stranger.
