@JeffreyLWong There's no need to be harsh now... I mean, look at the emotive he added. Pretty sure he was kidding. Great vid though! I want to buy an ebow now especially for those cello sounds you can get. Dissonant ones are a bonus :P
Why do people who hate the Ebow find looking up Ebow videos and commenting so irresistible ? Damn, just go back to your ps2 and fire up guitar hero why don't you.
no, me bicicletearon con el pedido, con el precio, con todo. al final me encontré con el aparatito en mis manos, de plástico y totalmente pedorro y decidí no invertir 600 mangos en un electroimán mal construido :S
does it got any technical complication to do de sweeping? dont you have to mute the strings so they dont keep sounding together? I ask because i've heard it's hard to change string with the ebow, but the sweeping efect is amazing and in the video it doesnt seems to be hard... is there any difference between the red-lighted and the blue-lighted appart from de armonic mode? thanks
My led is red...it's an older version. If you can't get the ebow to vibrate without touching, then try a new battery. if that's the same, return it and get a new one. My plus bow burned out after 6 months where my red one is rockin' after 10 years.
SWEET, I thought you'd move your fingers along with the Ebow, but then I remembered that they don't vibrate like with a regular pick so there's no need. Have you tried Jason Becker's Serrana?
Try also using the ebow as a pick (!), especially on acoustic guitar. I was amazed to discover it sounds better and fatter than the (fat) picks i 've tried over the years :-)
There are some idiotic ideas about this vid clip of ebow, most of you, I really appreciate the feedback & comments. Since you have never seen me perform live, you never really get the full picture on my playing style. If you make an comment that is aimed to make yourself a better player or forthat matter a more important person ,byall means...go for it!Just make sure it makes sense & not come across like a 12 year old looking to be hip in front of a group of giggling girls.
so true. Obviously this guy's more interested in impressing girls with generic shredding rather than creating something new and finding new ways of playing.

can't say I've played a JCM800, but I do have a '2000 and 2 mode 4's at our rehearsal studio, and the mode 4's blow the jcm2000 away.. but its all opinion
You lightly glide over the neck pickup of the guitar. with some practice, you'll get the feel on how hard the pressure the Ebow needs to touch the string.
the Arpeggios come to whatever inversion you fret.
first time I heard this technique from Lenny Walker-The Ebow guy (he's the Ebow demo man at NAMM & on the Ebow instruction tape) I was blown away with the sound. I took lessons from him soon after that.

don't really need overdrive, it's got enough power on its own to get the overdrive sound.

not really. If you learn how to slide up a scale on one string it can be really useful when playing with an ebow.

Use neck pickup...50% volume...let the ebow lay in your hand and glide smoothly up & down while the ebow rub lightly acrossed the strings.

I've heard people saying the E-Bow can damage your Pick Ups? Is this True?
Hyperklown 3 years ago
No.
JeffreyLWong 3 years ago
Fake models or imitation could if the magnetic field is too high or if your pickup is cheap...
Aemyh 3 years ago
um...not meaning to sound retarded, but how does it work? Do you just turn on the power button and wave it over your strings?
crh094 3 years ago
Almost...the amount of pressure changes your note and sound....it does require getting use to & lots of practice.

do ur ebow touch the strings while playing? coz mine need to lie on string otherwise the strings dont vibrate

No...Greg @ ebow makes these in his shop...he'll have to replace everything in it...so I just went back to my old version of Ebow
JeffreyLWong 3 years ago
Why did it burn out so quick? Is this normal?

Guitar playing is not about speed..it's about personlity & texture.
