can anyone tell me if huskies are good warning dogs? I know they arent good at protecting, but do they bark if someone comes near the house or knocks on the door? I want one very badly, but i'm also afraid because people say it's cruel to have them here in california, the hot weather would be bad. is that true? I keep my house very cold haha.

i have owned huskies for over thirty five years. they are not good watch dogs because they are so friendly. their husky howl might scare an intruder away, either that or lick them to death. huskies can adapt to warm weather, just keep them hydrated, and keep the airconditioning on,lol, good luck with the electric bill!.

Hi no its not cruel... I have a husky we live in texas.. I research for 2 yrs. b4 getting my baby.. he is 2 now, the EXPERTS say they acculmate to there birthplace so my huskie was born in texas.. The EXPERTS also say never shave them cause there hair is a coolant as well as a warmer.. BUT U DO HAVE TO KEEP THEM IN THE HOUSE DURING SUMMER!!!! And they shed badly all year long so keep this all in mind otherwise they r the best dogs ever !!!!!

lol, when the lady keeps asking her if she's naughty, it's like she's replying 'no I'm not!' in a sad voice. Then when she asks 'where's daddy?', it's a clear response of 'I don't know where he is! Stop nagging me'
