Flaming Ember was a blue-eyed soul band from Detroit MI. "Westbound #9" was their biggest charting hit, which followed their debut single, "Mind Body & Soul". The Hot Wax label was started by the production team of Holland, Dozier & Holland who formerly were connected with Berry Gordy's Motown organization.
