2nd: how did you do this, by printing out the frames and painting over them ? or some program ? it looks like a program because the lines of the frame are repeating. i think i would have used Studio Artist for it...
I love the red vs. blue. Was there anything specific that made you pick these two colors? I find that 'red vs. blue' shows up in many animated films, especially in anime.
Did you used little of the filmed material faded in with the rotoscoped or did you painted all these shadings and stuffs on the characters? great anyways :D

Looks like some clever work in AE. Three or four frame loop of the charcoal effect blended on top, and masks for the backgrounds and color.
