Ma Kelly's Greasy Spoon was such a wonderful album, especially the 9:30 "Is it Me, gotta go home" track. They were a true boogie band and only Dog of Two Head, Piledriver and Hello were better albums. I saw them in '74 and they rocked as hard as any band I ever saw. And I am seeing them again soon!
Thanks for posting this...I never thought I would see a track off of MKGS.
thanks for sharing. blues influences make great rock-n-roll bands. if you listen to an other song called "sweet home chicago", or the famous Bob Seeger's "old time of Rock and roll" and so on. fayçal from France.
Saw Quo yesterday, 4th time! Funny, but these "old" men still rock instead of todays most mainstream rock bands or what they call "rock"! Most of them sound lame and depressive! I don't say there no such newcomer bands, but most of them have no worldwide success! In todays depressive world, why do we need such "modern" rock music? To become more depressive?
At last someone who agrees with me. I cant remember the last time I saw anyone smile on a music video. They either seem to look depressed as blazes or are shoving their crotch in the camea or are pointing at it. They look very unsexy.
So true its Criminal that Pye didnt bother to release any singles of Ma Kellys and the Dog album when they were releases. It might have got the Albums into the chart. They wasted no time in 1973 after Paper Plane hit the chart though in releasing the back catalouge.
Yeah, Roy is in the Quo tribute band "Statoz Quo." There's a good video interview of them on here, just type in "Statoz Quo on Channel 9's Extra." The interviewer gets a few words with him.
brilliant. early quo is so good. esp to me. Ma Kellys Greasy Spoon album and Dog of Two Head. Even people who dont really like later Quo stuff can like those two classic albums !
the production is terrible - but the music is bluesier - even a critic of the band ( well I never !) said the music was good and more varied - putting jigs in the songs etc and the music got worse over the 70's - complement in there - somewhere ?
As good as Piledriver was, also Ma Kelly,s and Dog of two Heads were just as important, for me Caroline was the last great record they released, the worst by far was Rockin all over the world.
Remember this one...but a rarity...see how baby-faced they are...anyone noticed that Francis Rossi still uses the same guitar? At least the same type and colour.
Yes it is the same Fender Telecaster he has used for years. He has changed a few things on it, these days like the Pickups. This show BTW was probably one of its first outings in the fetching Ronseal Green he had just painted it.

Anno 2009 Quo is over and out.
We had the best of rock , fun, partyrock, and thanked them by seeing them at more than 21 gigs...!
I don't want to see old men playing their rocks of their own 20-55 years for the rest of their days!
Let the fresh new rocks come down on us!
lekezenman 2 years ago
lekezenman,
They are playing in France today. Belgium tomorrow, and Germany next week, aren't they? What is "over and out"?
