  • I miss you Lori C

  • For sting i would die ,and for sanborn i would do just the same , they both remind me that god must exist, perfect match!!!!

  • excuse me sir, but the picture just freeze from the start

  • @dhanzartz see "Sting-Ain't No Sunshine" for the video.

  • Bill Frisell on electric guitar...haunting. Sanborn playing soprano!

  • One of the best covers ever

  • Sting on theorbo, what a ham sandwich.

  • Best version - Sting and Sandborn.

  • Ain't no sandwich when she's gone, so i have to grab the phone, and order pizza everyday..

  • I'm always amazed when so many people go out of their way to slag off a cover version of someone else's song. don't they understand that, #1. this is meant as a compliment to Bill Withers talent as a songwriter. and #2. it adds a great deal of much deserved money to Mr Withers bank account. Sting didn't need to cover this. in fact, it costs him a bundle in potential royalties to put a song by someone else on his album.

  • David Dragonborn..

  • What a cover.GREAT. I can see some fuckers want duplicates lol

  • LoL,Bill Withers rulZ this one. This Sting version is ... emotionless compared to Bill's.

  • @Comix888 agreed

  • Why.. the song has been written&perfomncet once.

What, so this is better effort or version, if you will, or what..

Just stupid. Thought Mr Sumner knew better than this.

  • good sting

  • Freddie King nails it, imho - this much too cool for my liking - great song none-the-less

  • This is good but i like the original

  • Soooo True! ;o)

  • Sting can make any song sound Wonderful.... : )

  • The Freddie King version is my favourite. It has so much passion.

  • what's that instrument Sting is playing in the first pic?It ain't a sitar BTW

  • Are you all kidding me, this is pure art, I love all of the artists, Sting was my heart throb in my teenage yrs. I am from Kansas city, saw him with his band POLICE, in a tiny pub, in westport. So maybe ya'll got me wrong, your bad

  • what is the instrument Sting playing on the first photo?

    thank you

  • @marcozinger

    Sitar

  • this pulls my hair of my head!!!

  • Goosebumps listening to this!! Magnificent. Thank you so much

  • Great interpretation. Very original vocals and such a classy jazz sax(if i dont mishear). Sting is the best living-musician of our time.

  • @wyrdo11 Very far from it, and a complete exaggeration from your side.

  • Vídeo recomendado: REVELACION NO EXISTE LA MUERTE

  • Crap. Can't lie.

  • @CrownMe559 iight then the fuck outa here

  • nice

  • nicesong ilike ....

  • Mr sanborn at his best. Still.

  • But I lk

  • Hate this

  • This is like reinventing the wheel.........by making it squared. The original is way better.

  • Amazing! \m/

  • I am sooo sorry to ya'll. I must have punched the wrong key. I am 50 yrs old, and in my teens this was my favorite song, and will always be my favorite song. Please forgive me.

  • David Sanborn in questo brano sembra Garbarek !!!!

  • youtube -> yves paquet - ain't no sunshine

  • A beautiful song. Renewed by the Tenor Sting. A wonderful gift. Thank you for the publication.

  • I love Sting but the original Bill Withers song can't be fucked with...kinda like someone else playing a Hendrix solo...it will just never compare.

  • Random but go follow me on twitter. @Mr_Paper_Plane

  • p.u. Sting moves mountains with his own music, but in my opinion, this collaborative rendition is messy and distracting. Bill Withers emotion soars without all the exaggerated brass and wavering breathy vocals, this sloppy re-make pours on....ugh. just my opinion. Less is More. Bill Withers reigns superior. I have yet to give a listen to Michael Jacksons... scared

  • @MoRock420 you should. its amazing, but not as much "i knows".

  • @MoRock420 ha-ha! VERY true! I like Sting, and he at least puts effort into what he does and this version is enjoyable. I love the original, especially the live version I found here, but I'm not mad at this one.

  • Im 13 and I find this is better than the crap we have today. I love Sting and I noticed that Im probably the only person my age who listens to good music.

  • Ain't no sunshine when she's gone.

It's not warm when she's away.

Ain't no sunshine when she's gone

And she's always gone too long anytime she goes away.

  • @lovecraft4ever Hmm yeah but it is a special kind of lute isn't it? I've seen lutes before just with 8 strings or something, i guess it's called the renaissance lute but what kind of lute is that? :-?

  • does anybody know what instrument that is that sting has in his hands?

  • @NightByrdFlying - that medieval instrument is a "lute" - Sting did a whole album and concert hall tour with this instrument - playing old folklore as well as (during tour at least) covering modern songs including his own.

  • @pistachioguy Jeez.....since you put it that way......

  • @k2ombs - Hope people get that it's a joke.

MJ's version is from the 70's and Sting's is from the 90's - LOL!

  • When I saw the second top comment, It made me sad. Show some respect, whom ever you are!

  • @liznarizona - Errm. OK. It's kind of a joke, but if you feel so strongly about it, why don't you turn off your computer and go outside for a breath of fresh air, instead of writing self-righteous drivel online?

I respect those worthy of respect - too bad you don't fall under that category.

What're you - some kind of online morality police, stuck-up wallflower, or the Church Lady? Go get a life.

  • what kind of weapon does he hold? like this guy anyway..

  • awesome, cool, perfect for after office!!!

  • cool, so cool you can feel the breeze man....

  • more like Featuring Bill Frissell, what a brilliant background texture. WOW.

See, only Bill can sound like that. There's a few Dave Sanborns.

  • This is an absolutely beautiful song and Sting, Sandborn, Michael J just acknowledge this songwriter, what more do you want, if I could play or write music like this I would be a very fortunate person, but I just enjoy it and the musicians performing it.

  • this guitar is truly badass

  • Creative interpretation of the Bill Withers classic from David Sanborn's Mar 1999 release "Inside" - produced by Marcus Miller.

  • Nice version but I'm sure the sax player is not David Sanborn!

    Totally different style!Sorry!

  • Correct if wrong ale green is the original right

  • @maiday12 Bill Withers

  • ke meraviglia! una vera dichiarazione d'amore

  • @TheJuliet19 It's not warm when you'r away...

  • @IceBugsBunny sweeeeeeeeeeeetyyyyyyyyyyyyyy

  • @TheJuliet19 oh, my lady d(isaster)

  • Brilliant..... And to those who said Sanborn doesn't play Soprano, yup, he does, not nearly so often as Alto.

  • Sting is awesome!

  • Amazing job but the original is always the best

  • ummmm nice best cover i've heard yet

  • AMAZING version...

  • First remake I have heard that the artists sound like they can actually feel and relate to the song amazing job that sax draws you into the song not like the bass in all the other remakes that makes me want to puke its way over it shadows the words and the feel of the song that made it famous in the first place.

  • Wow...Thank you...Thank you...I've never heard this version. I LOVE Sting's voice and David Sanborn..Yum! This is orgasmic!

  • super

  • I like it...For me I think he gots a great voice and he doesn't ruin the song!

Was it released anywhere? Because the quality is incredible!

  • David Sandborn playing soprano?

That doesn't sound like him to me, but I've never heard him play soprano.

  • @TBlake34 Dave plays always alto, never soprano ! The song is different here because he changes the mouth piece :)

  • @killerprime3 Check out this video:

    watch?v=zNB4rvHPjPg&feature=player_embedded#

He's actually playing sopranino sax. I knew it didn't sound like an alto, but I've only heard a few people play the sopranino.

    Weird sound.

  • @TBlake34 Sorry all for me:)! I am a big fan

David and having repeatedly played its

Songs I ignored that he had already used the

sopranino. Is that the sound he has on this video themselves

close enough with an alto ebonite mouthpiece

    classic. Sorry again

  • @killerprime3 No problem at all. Just trying to figure out what I was hearing.

  • thanks for the effort dude

  • sting manages to take a great tune and ruin it

  • n o no nooo he can't this song as it request...I like Sting but not in this role...

  • rest in peace my mom

  • Sting is just so comfortable around his voice, it gives that extra umph to anything he sings, especially those soul filled end notes.

  • just found that version... amazing .... youtube.com/watch?v=JQdfKWWJcIg

  • beatifull song watch that very powefull version youtube.com/watch?v=JQdfKWWJcIg

  • This is nice, but I like MJs version better. :)

  • watch this version ... is also amazing

    youtube.com

    /watch?v=JQdfKWWJcIg

  • When was it recorded?

  • bill frisell on guitar???

  • @rorockstaub yeaaaaaaaaaa that's got to be him!

  • Allmost Smooth Jazz!!!

  • This is sexy. I love Sting and David Sanborn and together on this song is just sexy. Im lovin it

  • You shouldn't compare the versions. Each is a unique take. Sting's real genius has always been that he can is a phenomenal arranger. This is no exception. He's not trying to sing Bill Withers. He's doing what he does. I like it.

  • YES HE IS PLAYING TH SH.... OUT OF SAX!!!

  • The BEST version out there, in my opinion.

  • I never knew this version but is really nice! ... Isn´t it ?

  • agree whit all. almost better lenny kravitz version than this

  • bad version, imo the sax doesnt suits the song

  • I love sting, he's from newcastle like moi xx

  • This Sting with David Sanborn is perfect! wow

  • Sorry Sting, Bill Withers version is and always will be better than yours. I didnt feel anything with this version, unlike Bill's.

  • oh ...no good for me...bad version:(..really bad

  • I LOVE this cover.

  • Wonderful song & Sting did a fantastic cover. Although i must say, this version with Sanborn is my favorite :)

  • i love this guy! he is soo cool! he is a natural..

  • hell no lil micheal jacksons version is way beter than even bill withers

  • Tracy Chapman and Buddy Guy have a great version also Picposter. Thanks for asking. Have a great week Picposter.

  • majestuosa

  • I love Sting.. and very sexy!....rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Sting qui joue du théorbe, c´est trop fort.

  • shaun smiths version is the best only my opinion

  • Obviously Wither's version is the original and the best, but this version is way cool and soulful to listen too.

  • @blucinemafilms This is the worst version of this I have ever heard. Why do you like this version so much?

  • @picposter67 It funny how some infants can't help them selves from disrespecting others just to justify their narrow. negative, corn ball opinions. Like the 5th grader who knocks the A student's books from his hand in front of a crowd. Now to answer your question picposter. Wither's version is the soulful original. But, its always great to hear fresh interpretation. Sting has a such soothing cool voice smooth as silk & with the tinge of that classic guitar & Sanborn's sax it just sounds great.

  • assholes saying that this cover is good just because it's the sting , well he sucks here

  • A very nice song.

  • why doses sting have a sitar!? in the first pic...

  • @jayj420 its not a sitar its a lute but still wtf :P

  • Great

  • Sting è un grande, non ci sono dubbi. Sia per quello che ha scritto che per quello che ha interpretato.

  • wow love it!!!

  • I guess you just can't fairly cover Bill Withers.... Its one of those songs you simply cant cover. It simply doesnt match up regardless of how good the cover is...

  • this version is pretty bad

  • hot damn that's a good sax there

  • This is a beautiful interpretation of a great song. Stop being so critical. Music isn't a competition - it's meant to be enjoyed.

  • @te1e Absolutely true it is not for fighting who is good or who is bad its meant to be Enjoyed!!!

  • This pictures crack me up, but I LOVE this song.

  • No to ECT!

No to arbitary law and pharmaceutical order.

    Yes to Humanist Therapy!

Yes to Justice and the recognition of farm workers' unions

  • @8269998 I respond with a rousing "rawraw" ala the Prospector in Blazing Saddles.

  • i like it ! of course the genuine one is better yeah so what ? i've seen and hear so much crap about this song....and i must say this one is good enough to be appreciate :)

  • this fellow butchered this

  • This version is terrible

  • Why does sting have a lute?

  • beautiful combination... love these 2 =)

  • Such a good song... with a bit of Stings flavour ;)

  • MJ forever...

  • MJ doesn't have anything to do with this

  • MJ wrote and sang this song when he was 12 years old.....what do you mean it has nothing to do with him...

  • you mean michael jackson? sorry but Bill Withers wrote this. michael did sing it yes.

  • @jthereal , Bill Withers Sung this song too in 1972, you can find it on yutube itself, and its by far the most amazing version ! :)

  • @mosquitopa He sang it, but he didn't write it. Sorry, I know you MJ fanatics can be very fanatic.

  • @FediTheJoker

MJ sung this song in 1974 !

  • @gautierde Oh sorry.

  • @FediTheJoker : Michael Jackson Did Cover this song !

  • @FediTheJoker : Michael Jackson Did Cover this song !

  • what are u talking about, sting also did it well he has a roguh voice and gives it a whole new version

  • what a beautiful song

  • the beginning reminds me of shennondoah.

  • extremedamente bellisima!!

  • two of the best musicians of the XX and XXI century!!! awesome!! Sublime!

  • Bill withers voice is way better .

  • wat a song ...

  • Sanborn's sax sounds like a New Years Eve blow horn from Walmart

  • but a soulful one.

  • Comment removed

  • this song is propa deep it touches yu within

  • this song is f.....g sad, if you have lost somebody......, but as like night and darkness get changed for sunshine..... :) so final result is probably good opportunity to get better with (to find -maeby- losted files of your own)_ "lonely" introspection time.. something like that....

  • exelent song i like so much thase song beautifull song

  • greattttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttt
