how do you find the teble output on your r8? and do you think the pick ups are high enough output im not sure with mine..well compared to my uncles classic they dont sound as trebbly or as loud..i might change them but im not sure..
I fell in love with the VT technology and bought an AD30VT and a Tonelab Le. The AD30VT died on camera today. See video response at top. Still great amps for the money. Just wish it had lasted a little longer. :(
I like my Vox AD30VT but you must crank the Master volume all the way up to get it to sound really good. I also think the clean tones are not as good as the gain tones on this amp.
It's a good amp for home playing because you have a lot of sounds and effects. I think the 10" speaker should be a better one or even been replaced with a 12".
I no longer own this amp, I've sold it and bought a Tiny Terror. In my opinion, the Vox had good simulations but can't be compared to a real all tube amp...
I know it probably bothers you and all, but I must know: Does the lack of the fingertip affect your ability to play chording? Great playing and tone by the way!
That axe is freakin´gorgeous and the AD30VT is a great amp fpr movin around in small gigs and practicing at home. I love mine. It will never deliver real valve tone, but got mine for about 220 USD. Hard to beat that tone-price relation!
By the way, is it possible to use several effects simultaneously with that amp? I'd be interested in getting me one of those, but I'd need to know if I could get the "rautalanka" sound (clean tone with reverb+compressor+a bit of delay)
Effects are group in presets. Some effects are alone (comp OR delay) and some are combined (chorus + delay OR flanger + reverb). You can only use 1 preset at the same time.
Take a look at the product manual on Vox website, there's the detail of the presets (Top panel description)

Yes, I use it a lot for playing chords so I got thick skin on it ;-)

These are not the same pickups between reissue and classic lp models.
The classic ones are hi output pickups.

It's more affecting me for playing solos than for playing chords. There are some chords that I must play differently or I use my thumb in them.

Great playing by the way. I would just like to see more vibratto and dynamics, but great job

does your vox amp have the cd/mp3 input option? if not where are you getting your backing music from?
reason im asking is because im interested in buying the same one (ad30vt)
Stillth3sameg 3 years ago
No, it doesn't have the cd/mp3 input option.
I was using GuitarPro 5 on my notebook plugged into the hifi
