Since Jimmy was apopted and bore a strong resemblance, I truly believe he was a son of Vernon! Jimmy Ellis' version of a song he wrote titled: I'M NOT TRYING TO BE LIKE ELVIS. There is a line in there in which he sings: "AND IF HE WERE IN MY PLACE AND HIS TIME WERE YET TO BE, WOULD HE BE, SINGING MY SONGS AND IMITATING ME. Elvis knew of Jimmy 'cause a cassette of Jimmy's was played for Elvis and he thought it was a recording of his own voice!. Joe

There were a lot of songs Jimmy sang not using Elvis' style and he did fine with them. He couldn't help sounding like Elvis and eventually HAD to sing Elvis' songs as well as his own due to the uncanny vocal similarity. One thing: the photo of Johnny Ace looks too much like the late Otis Redding, so it can't be him. There was a rumour that Elvis was Ellis, faces can be changed voices cant, althought though plastic surgery ya voice does change, however if ya sposed ta get away, ya would'nt take up singing now wud ya..?

Amen tcb ....I agree 110% with you ..I just wish other people would figure out they was 2 totally different people. Both were awesome entertainers with vocal simularity. Jimmy was totally different then Elvis on and off stage if people just paid attention to each one on stage they too would see the difference.

Here Goes, Look At Jimmy Ellis' Picture Here And Compare It To Elvis' Dad Vernon.You Have To Know Some Early History About Jimmy First.But The Resemblance Is Uncanny. You can't say Jimmy was as great as Elvis because without, Elvis there would be no Orion. I think Elvis' voice is much more natural sounding. Not as shakey.

I didnt state Jimmy was as great as Elvis. And without Elvis there may not have been a Orion, But them there might have been a very famous Jimmy also. Think of that. And Jimmys voice is as natural as they get ,he was not imatating anyone. That was his natural voice.

Yeah but this style of music wasn't made famous until Elvis. This type of voice wasn't popular until Elvis started back in the '50s. Im saying, if Jimmy didn't need Elvis and didn't become famous because of Elvis, why didn't he start singing long before he did?

Jimmy started singing right about 1965 but wasnt given any air time because he sounded to much like Elvis.

in my opinion Orion sings better than elvis because he sounds exaktly the same and have done some elvis covers that are better then the kings himselfhe never did drogs like elvis and i think thats why hes voice has been more saved when he sings.the 2 greatest legends that ever lived.peace.

elvisjimpa100... It's great you like them both. And great you like Jimmy better but they do not sound exactly the same. I like Jimmy too but when it gets right down to it and I had a choice between butter and margarine, I'd go for the butter.
