I was just watching a 1997 perf of this song, and she was great on it. She's better here, though. I like when artists have a few years and then revisit their emotional songs. This one is more powerful the way she's doing it now -- even that slight rasp in her voice gives it gravitas.

Also, she looks absolutely stunning right here. Better than she did in 1997 -- or maybe she and I have just grown up together, and I like a 30-something chick more than I did when I was in college in 1996.LOL

It is different. but i also understand that it is difficult to sing the same song with the same emotion twice. my feelings for my songs always change and i rarely sing them the same twice. now add in being a performer for umpteen years like jewel and you can see where she must change her perspective on it.
