  • There's a chinese song, sounds very much like this song.. It's called huang something..

  • @luckydesu

Yep Huang Hun. Both versions are good, but i like Pemsi's version better.

  • I would like to thank Pemsi for making such meaningful songs of all time.

Very Happy to hear this song.

Very Sad that it seems some Tibetans don't know what this song is about, Who is Jetsun Pema la!

I hope they will try to learn more about what happen after Tibetan became Exile in 1959. Hey bhopa tso don't just listen to the music,,,,,,,,listen to the meaning dear.

  • This song is really good !

  • Is it for Mothers day

  • just curious.. is this melody originally a tibetan song or chinese?

  • @nkaujhmoobvwj chinese songs are not like this.if you were tibetan/chinese you would knoe the difference.hope that helps.

  • I LOVE THIS SONG ,,,, THANK YOU SO MUCH PEMSI LA,,, KEEP IT UP,,,,YOU DID GREAT JOB MAN,,,FREE TIBETTTTTTTTT,,,

  • pemtse's best work ever!

  • i will be honest

ame jetsun pema is ok but she doesn't deserve that much praise such as "mother of the world" etc etc....

  • @25gawa

She took in more then 2000 tibetans refuges.

She had to build up her own daycare for them from the start.

Even when she was a refugee herself, and had no money.

She was in a new land, a new lanuage, and differnt climate.

But she survived it all. Some parents complain about having 1 or two kids.

SHE HAS 2000. She treats them all with the respect, and affection they deserved.

You dont have to agree with us, but in our hearts she is the mother of MY world.

  • @Lovingboyify you know you dont have to be over dramatic about it.

  • @25gawa

    All facts.

  • 3) She is the mother of the world, to whom our debt of gratitude is as heavy as a mountain

The children of the Land of Snows have been taken care by you throughout their entire life

In order to realise your wishes and your expectations,

We, the children of the Land of Snows, will remember forever

We pray for your longevity, the mother of the Land of Snows, Ama Jetsun Pema

  • 2) You have endured all sorts of hardship for the sake of the children of the Land Snows

How can we forget you, whose kindness to us is as deep as the deepest sea

All the children of the Land of Snow pay tribute to you, Ama Jetsun Pema

It is our Karmic fortune, people of the Land of Snows, that you arrived in the Land of Snows,

You use all your energy to benefit the children of the Land of Snows, regardless of days and nights

  • 1) Even the orphans who are in exile in an alien land,

still have Ama Jetsun Pema who is as compassionate as the Buddhas

She cherishes us and warms our hearts just like our mothers,

She is the mother of the world, to whom our debt of gratitude is as heavy as a mountain.

The children of the Land of Snows have been taken care of by you throughout their entire life

  • i LIKE THIS SONG VERY MUCH!

  • Sometimes [people forget the message given and argue about trivial things that don't really matter.

  • Pemsi bangera

  • I dont understand what the lyrics are saying but I still love this song. Beautiful music

  • i actually met Ama Jetsun Pema la at a Tibetan party down here at Dc. i didnt even know it was her at first.

  • most people tell me japanese!! :)

  • i am tibetan and am pretty fluent. but i just wanna know wat language does tibetan sound like to NON- TIBETANS. mongolian, nepali, indian burmese thai lao chinese?

  • Amdo Tibetan is very uniquely Tibetan, while Lhasan Tibetan is either Thai or Chinese to me.

  • Then Lhasa isn't exactly Chinese/Thai, because of the preponderance of front vowels, od, ud...

  • TOO BAD !!!!!!!!!!!!

WHEN ALL THE TIBETAN IN AND OUTSIDE TIBET MOURN THIS 2009 LOSAR PHURBU T NAMGYAL AND PEMSI PERFORMED LIVE ON THE SECOND DAY OF LOSAR IN SWISS. WHAT A CONTRADICTORY. lets boycott their next album.........I am really disgusted with this act of ARROGANT.

  • Your so Fuckin` Ignorant i almost want to blame people like you for the loss of our Country. Let Ama Jetsun Pema know where you live so that we can concentrate on you people before the Chinese...

  • A man was just arrested in Tibet for having this song on his cellphone! FREE TIBET NOW!

  • this song is sweet i like it but this song original version in chinese song from taiwan. somebody stole its music.

  • Originally from Steve (Chuan-Huing) Chou. Title was "Dusk" 黃昏

    作詞:陳信榮 / 作曲:周傳雄 / 編曲:周傳雄

Other versions exist in Minnan Taiwanese (愛人叼位去) and Vietnamese (Thầm Gọi Tên Anh). I've seen an un-official English version, too (Whispers of Your Name).

  • i can read it but the karaoake thingy goes too slow to catch up to his words

  • This is a beautiful sounding song - wish I knew what the words meant. Does anyone know what the song means in English. I pray for Tibet.

  • The text for this song in three languages - Tibetan, French and English - can be found in the book :Tibet : Les enfants de l'espoir by Phurbu Dolma. de Phurbu Dolma

  • Thank you for the ref - I was just wondering basically what the song is about, a few phrases or something. It is such a beautiful song. God bless Tibet and the Dalai Lama. Have you seen his website? It is wonderful.

  • It is a homage to Jetsun Pema, the sister of the Dalai Lama. She was president of the Tibetan Children's Village for 46 years. Pemsi is a product of TCV.

    quotes from the song

...while I was living in exile as an orphaned child engulfed with sadness, Oh Ama Jetsun Pema! You loved and cared for me like my true mother.

... We the Tibetan children are in deep gratitide and love for the tireless devotion for the wellbeing of us all.

You will understand better after visiting the TCV site.

  • it's great song. love it.

  • je t'aime choesang

  • Love this song. Thanks for uploading.

  • This song is the great, Pemsi La Rocks!
