  • This is a thing of beauty! If only all dog owners put in this much effort to socialize their dogs.

  • @SilverAlce thank u coz passed this year , heart is broken his many generations reflect this temperament, he was the first CGC of the breed in the world and the only Reg therapy dog of his time and as u see below he did guard dog work and killed coyotes . He was and is the best CAS of all time in the USA.... we did socialized him but he came from a working line not a show line or the russian alabai lines.

  • These are also called Afghan nomad dogs (Sage Kochee)

  • I considered gettin a CAO, because they are simply the most beautiful dogs out there, but the way the breed is described it seems like it is impossible to turn them into "normal" dogs who can behave in public! I wait for the day breeders ease their temperament! I am impressed with the behavior of this one!!

If I got one, I'd want it to behave in this manner

  • @mbilandz cause we stay away from lines with dog aggression, and or unstable dogs we can breed dogs that with work can be social in public yet protective.

sadly in euro they allow dogs to spar and lunge in the ring,

this allows the dog to think he is boss it is not correct

  • @mbilandz every breed has backyard breeds as well guardian dogs attract men who lack the ability to train any dog to be alert protective but stable. We are the only US breeders with 15 years of stable dogs based on that dog that passed this year. he was the first CGC and Therapy dog of the breed yet he also passed guard dog tests

  • Thank godness he's got such a good temperament considering how that lady got on her knees & into his face. Ugh.

  • U r Correct however he has passed the therapy dog test and went to hospitals to work with the sick and elderly so this type of on knees behavior is expected, = he is cued by me with that happy voice. I only have 3 of them that can do this sort of activity, the rest are not as over the top easy in public. However all of these dogs need only to be trained and socialized to accept strangers. U can find him in a middle school doing a demo here as well.

  • this is a central asian ovcharka. in russia and ukraine their called vokodav, and in moldova their called alabai.

  • Thanks for the post the Russian have a new standard and they call them Ovcharka.

Native dogs in Central Asian follow the original standard for a working dog and never use the name Ovcharka.

  • @planetmolosser Its turkmenistan that they are called Alabais though......... BTW you have done a terrific job on socialisation there, lovely dog

  • @edtri19 Well his line is half Koochee dog from Afghanistan and his dad is from

finland from Siberian line. One side has not turkmen lines and the other you have to go back more than 3 generation. So I try to be honest, he has not alabai in him and alabais today look different and act different. in the USA Alabaiusa is the only breeder breeding alabai lines alone together. Thank you we have 3 generations of dogs that work like that

  • @planetmolosser I quite like the dog called Ursa El Vager from the Croatian Alabai kennel. However as you can probably guess from that statement, i prefer the look of the Ovcharkas rather than the lighter aboriginal type. I dont know if you have seen buldozer from daur don?

  • That's Fox Fire Kimpossible's dad; wonderful dog; the dog that confirmed I wanted a Central Asian!

  • Please note to get this tempermanet

I had to buy from a breeder with working dogs, then I did MASSIVE socialization and training with this dog.

This shows my expertise more so then the breed.

I know each of my dogs triggers& how to cue them, as you see he interacts with all who approuch - he accepts friendly strangers, some of my dogs need me to cue more so.

If a breeder can not control their own dogs on and off property.. How can they help buyers?
