The fires were poorly combusted as confirmed by the lack of visible flame and the very high smoke ratio. If weak isolated fire caused the building to collapse it defys the fire tetrahedron and thermodynamics, specifically the 2nd law. Since we know what happened, the Northwoods question is very significant.

Could be financial incentive, threats or just ignorance (think of a patsy). In actual fact, I've heard government employees apparently join online 911 forum discussions to disrupt them as they are being paid to prevent 'Un-American talk' which could possibly lead to terrorism. Helping a cover up without knowing then..
