  • That cartridge slot is for external memory cart.

  • know your facts and shut up and just stick to what you know and forget you punk!!!!

  • He's not that bad of a reviewer. I never got why everyone hates on him, he's just a little bit on the unproffesional side.

  • those game cases are just like the original playstation ones....oh that brings back memories

  • @misterdon666 PSX cases weren't big like the saturn's. But they're both amazing consoles :P

  • @knoxianpanda have you seen the very first early cases? they were just about that size. i specifically remember the original gex game having one

  • the external memory was released and it actually went into the cartridge slot

  • do more console/game reviews man these are awesome

  • is it just me or is guy annoying and a complete jack ass

I like the vid alot, he's very good at reviewing

    Haterss.

  • Dude I love your vidz they're funny as fuck!

  • anyone else think the cartridge slot looks hilariously like a SNES cartridge would fit?

I always did, interesting review, keep on it!

  • u should buy a capture card I'd love to see gameplay vids with ur smart but corny commentary

  • wow nfl quarterback club! holy shikes

  • We Like CD's We Do. LOL

  • Wykapedia? o-o

  • @ThePivotAdventures lol!!!!

  • i literally have every single one of those games...weird

  • Daytona oosah lol

    I like your style

  • u sound wierd

  • yeh that battery managed to save your games and that slot near the CD reader was to put an external memory to save games and play on a friends Sega (as long as he had the game CD :P)

  • Is this Chris-Chan?

  • the slot was used for memory carts and the action replay. The Saturn Had battery backed internal memory.

  • lots of kids are jealous of TKE. they talk shit and all but I'd like to see them do better vids!

  • this is like your most hated vid

  • I think the cart slot was for a memory module like a lil hard drive

  • @sandman360

Unsuccessful troll is probably making less money than the person it is intending to troll.

  • @TolstoyKafkaEvsky u like the beatles, ur awesome

  • @sandman360 that doesn't look like a basement

  • does any one else have a problem with the 3D controller trigger where the magnet in it slips out and stopsworking? if so can you tell me how to fix it if you know?

  • "when doing my reivews I'm not looking to put raw facts, I'm looking to put my opinions"

That is the most closed minded retarded statement I have ever heard.

Should reviews have an opinionated slant? Yes they should to an extent

Should said reviews have factual information and the reviewer have a base level knowledge of what they are reviewing? YES!!!

This review is akin to asking a baseball player his opinion of a doctors open heart surgery technique....

  • Interesting video... you can tell he has NO IDEA about the Saturn. "Daytona Eussa"??? Holy shit, I can't believe someone couldn't figure out it is U.S.A.

Interesting video from the perspective of someone who bought a Saturn without having done any research into it. Kind of entertaining!

  • DAYTONA USA NOT DAYTONA USER

  • @doomlights go watch some Strong Bad Email and he'll say Eussa in one of them

  • You are a horrible reviewer. Why make half-ass review vids?

  • 3:53 Best controller for fighting games.

  • Neil Goldman...

  • saturn was known for its 2D games, no consule of that time and still will not compete with the saturn 2D games. the saturn was and is still original.

  • I agree to the DexterBoyGenius33 let the reviews to people who know

  • @RetroShinigami he doesn't know why there was a MEMORY CART port on top of the saturn.. that's why

  • the cartridge slot is a memory card input.

The internal memory is actually made by some weird watch battery like battery, but the cruel truth is that those batteries go out a lot and there goes your saves.

  • @hobocamptheater

    you tell the nub

  • @hobocamptheater yea and the less you play it the faster they die =/

  • yo this guys videos are brilliant

  • i always thought it was 64 bit

  • can i ask....you still have that?

  • nice review I like how u go over the system instead of giving out a bunch of facts that aren't nessasery because I think that's how reviews are ment to be

  • Wyka pedia? What the fuck?

  • im sorry i´m putt he´s instead of his, im from brazil don´t complain about my grammar

  • Fuck everyone qho complains about him and says he is not qualified to review the saturn! He clearly says that he´s not putting raw facts into his reviews he is putting he´s opinions!!!You hear, OPINIOS not facts! And tose who didn´t like hom, then stop watching his dam videos!!!

  • @thingwatcher thats fine, but he is also putting FALSE facts there to, thats not right

  • you fail at making reviews, its more like "First impressions: Sega saturn by a newfag"

  • you have wrong on the description, its end 1994 no 1995 ^^

  • hey how much are you willing to sell it for? Please, i am desperate for that system. But not so desperate to go broke. reasonable. trinitybroadcast@yahoo.com

  • stop raping your saturn with sonic 3

  • The slot was for ram carts

  • mr tolstoy, if you are not truly convinced that hte saturn is actually 3d you should play burning rangers, sonic r, nights into dreams, or any other of the great saturn games that are 3d, instead of limiting yourself to a couple games, and btw virtua fighter 2 and virtua cop are indeed 3d.

  • I miss this shirt. :'(

  • $40.00 he got jiped none of those games are worth dick.

  • You have gaming gloves?

    LMAO!!

  • 3:25 i have that joypad! eheh

  • Wow. please don't do anymore "reviews"... you are completely ignorant on the product you are reviewing- you should change the title from "Sega Saturn review" to "a newbie's thoughts on the Sega Saturn"- at least that would be accurate.

  • @DexterBoyGenius33

If you listened in the video he said hes not putting facts into his reviews his putting opinions into it..

  • @DexterBoyGenius33

    THEIF!!!

  • @DexterBoyGenius33 SCREW THAT AND SCREW YOUR COMMIT

  • yes you could buy external memory, that's what the cartridge input was for. not trying to be an ass, but why would you buy a gaming console without knowing even the essentials, like how it accomplishes game saves?

  • @MercOfTheSouth1

oh yes i do play cod 6 and its a game i respect, what im saying is this guy who did this review is not qualified to give a good review of the sega saturn.

  • Just admit it; you're a salarian in a human disguise.

  • The music player on the Atari Jaguar CD was alot cooler looking, it was designed by the guy that did tempest 2000 and the player for the Xbox 360.

  • nice choice of album ;)

  • that slot is for memory carts

  • this guy reviewing the saturn in my opinion is a total moron, he sounds too young to fully appreciate what games were like back then, he just went on ebay and purchased a saturn and compared the games against whats on offer today

virtua cop to this day is still a brilliant game and took shooters to a new level, i mean just look at lethal enforcers

  • what does half-breed console mean?

  • @tmsods 3d grafics but can only move in 2ds

  • @tmsods a very shitty system lol

  • @killerpuppetman

    WRONG!

  • Fucking idiot said, "Virtua, i mean Vurtual, no it says virtua, it couldnt say Vitrual" everyone that knows anything knows that sega always puts Virtua on sports games

  • the slot was for memory....

  • Diggin the Boston shirt man.

  • buy Rayman!!

  • why does everyone make fun of this guy! he makes god vids!

  • @goldturtwig he is a clueless moron

  • @cocacolaholic no hes tellin the truth t he saturn is just out date dont get mad dude u know thats true

  • @goldturtwig amen!

  • @goldturtwig

I know, he's real thorough and has a constant theme to all his vids. Doesn't fuck around and have a lot of dead space like some reviewers have. Can't remember the user, but just saw a review in which half was arbitrary dialogue and the actual review didn't start until he was 4 mins in.

  • @goldturtwig hes a little gay and weird.

  • This kid must be rolling in the pussy

  • @JarginScott LMAO.

  • Yup...Sega Saturn's, a Boston Tee and an annoying voice. This kid must be rollin in the pussy.

  • You do realize the Saturn is actually 32 bit, and more powerful than the PS1 and N64 <_<.

  • @DisasterPiece0302

It's got more processing potential than the PS1... but the N64 is another story. Of course, the point is moot, because that potential never fully got utilized.

  • @dunnono00 Well on the Saturn a couple of games that really utilized it, and yes, you're right, it is less powerful than the N64, but had more potential because of CD's. Though I <3 my Saturn and N64, so no point arguing.

  • The slot is for a memory card.

  • i grammer failed cause i wanted to ya nerd 'SHES PRETTY BIG'

  • The cartrige slot on the saturn is for memory and for action reply cartrige

and he complains about the word virtua? you suck ass my friend.

  • dont do a review on a console you dont know about it does play cartidrige games and it not the first that played cds sega cd is

  • @ranchboy1000 "and it not the first that played" Grammar Fail.

  • @ranchboy1000 and it not the first? learn grammer. And the port diden't play cartrige it was an add on for memory

  • @Hubanuche ok first you fag myob and second i spell wrong cuz i wnt to third i dont care wat yu say so suck my dick p.s hop yu can read sling

  • Daytona USA, Virtua Cop, and Virtua Fighter 2 came in a pack in with the Sega Saturn game when I got it for Christmas in 96'. Fun times. Pity it didn't last long, and Sega screwed me again with the Dreamcast (although I still love it). Lots of gems: Radiant Silvergun, Nights into Dreams, Clockwork night, Panzer Dragoon Saga etc...

  • the slot at the back is for erly japan games

  • Never heard of that... I thought it was only for external memory.

  • the slot at the back is for erly japan games

  • I am having problems when I turn in the sega, because when I press the buttom "start" It doesn't appear on TV!!!!

    Can you help me please???

  • You soud exactly like Joe Staten at Bungie!

  • taking this pretty seriously aren't we now.

  • can dreamcast and sega saturn share the same av audio and sterio

  • For the cartridge port, you can also get an Action Replay 4-in-1 cartridge that adds additional RAM as well as bypass the regional lockout to play Japanese games (since in the days of analog TV, Japan and North America both run on the same NTSC resolution settings as well as the same power outlet at 110 volts)

  • Why does my saturn and controller look different? Were there different versions?

  • @DarkMatter43 Yeah, one came with the Model 1 Saturn. And a different one came with the model 2 saturn. This one the guy has in this video is a Model 2 sega Saturn.

  • I have A 32x. I Actually Like it!

  • The slot is not for Genisis games its for memory cards.

  • @nmstric9 Who the fuck really cares

  • @nmstric9

  • @nmstric9 so am 18 and i know more about old games then most ppl of the time of the conslo age has noting to do with knowing some thing dude

  • @wodahsean trust me you were 3 when this came out that is like me claiming to be a pro at f1 pole the first game i ever played on the atari 2600.

so you lost a lot of the legacy in games atari nes snes genesis jaguar 3do turbo graphic 16 amiga intellivision yeah... you dont know anything about those first hand only what you have read therefore "YOU KNOW NOTHING!!!" about them

  • @nmstric9 dude you dont know me so fuck off and yes i do know somethings about them so fuck you friend

  • @wodahsean

yeah i do you said you know something about it and i know you dont know enough about it to have an opinion so yeah i know what you are trying to convince me is false therefore my interest in you is that of amusement.

what is a lagi? answer that one and i might believe you. and just for fun what does a naka make?

  • @nmstric9 just so you know i do have a genesis the genesis was my first system and i do have a snes and tg16 oh and therefore its not just what i have read i was 8 at the time i got the genesis am 18 now and i know much then you think dude

  • @nmstric9 i was but that means nothing the system was discontinued in 1998 i had i lot of time foolish dork i remember i becuz my big brothers had it and i would see them play it

  • according to wiki there was a game adapter to play mark3,genesis,32x and sega cd games on the saturn, but ,m still concurning.

  • Saturn of course

  • u definitly need svideo output and pplay it on a much worthy tv. Also get a modchip and play all the great titles that was never release here in the states.

  • My Favorite Systems are PSOne, Sega Saturn and Sega Dreamcast! oh and Snes.......

  • i have the same Saturn too but the buttons are grey.

  • how old are you , maybe 11, 12?

  • ... ROFL. Seriously? The Genesis dominated in the early 90's, and was on the exact same level as the SNES... Until it released the CD (which is widely considered amazing in cults,) and the 32X. Saturn bombed, and the only reason the Dreamcast had such a short lifespan was how easy it was to burn games onto a blank CD and the CEO of Sega being a stupid asshole. The Dreamcast was ahead of it's time. Hell, Dreamcasts were still being sold in Japan up to 2006.

  • wait what did I say?

  • 2006 really??

  • Mhm. Insane, isn't it?

  • no, it's 32 bit, same as ps1, but bits mean nothing anyways so it's pointless

  • If you're interested in the games for the Saturn, look up sega-saturn[dot]net. It's a cool and huge Saturn-Fanpage. Unfortunately, it's in German, but there isn't much text anyways. Go to the main page, click on the link Software on the left side bar and scroll down. There you can see all the releases, numbers, etc. for that Console. There are also a lot of Screenshot. ;)

  • Seems I was wrong. Well, you learn something new everyday... Thanks for the information. I guess I shouldn't underestimate the power of cheap media and special edition dating sims.

  • You're welcome. But don't forget that there were also bad games on the N64 like Superman 64 or Earthworm Jim 3D, which are even worse than most of those cheesy dating sims. ;)

I have more than 90 games for the Saturn which I'd (mostly) consider as good or very good. And there are still a lot more missing. ;)

  • Oh, I have nothing against dating sims. I'd probably like some of them too, I'm sure. Just a random comment on their popularity.

I've played on the Saturn plenty back then, but I never did get one. Probably the only real regret I have considering console choices. Still, I'd be more than happy if they just re-released Panzer Dragoon Saga and all the Shining Force III scenarios.

  • I was being sarcastic when I said accurate.

  • They are trying to revise history on the internet by saying Stolar did not damage Sega, but this is nonsense. Under Stolar's leadership Sega of America lost over a billion dollars. This trend did not slow down until he was unofficially booted out. The idiot was always making accurate predictions like, "Americans will never buy RPGs".

  • @Mordeth1: Thanks to Bernie Stolar, the Saturn only had a few hundred games officially marketed in the United States, and of those only a few dozen were ever seen by most consumers. Stolar actually thought allowing more games to be ported from Japan, would hurt the Saturn's sales if they were not mainstream games, like NBA JAM or Mario. The idiot also announced the discontinuation of Saturn in 97, which cost Sega millions of dollars and immediately caused developers to bail on Sega.

  • @majesticlizard

You're right that was a pretty stupid move. He discontinued the Saturn on the E3 1997 (original quote: The Saturn is not our Future). Many Companies which made games for the Console were pissed off, a lot of them cancelled their games and some wouldn't ever cooperate with Sega again (f.e. EA). The Dreamcast came later to the US than Solar exspected so Sega fans had no games for their console for more than a year (until 9/9/1999). So, many of them bought PS1 or N64. :(

  • Not enough people have mentioned what the slot is for.

  • the cart slot was for external memorey

  • Yeah thanks.

  • This guy really should do some research. The Saturn was powered by dual 64bit CPUs. The Sega CD and Sega 32X were both 32bit systems. The reason this took off is not because it was not a true 3D system. (It had the power.) It was more an issue that it was VERY difficult to program from by the day's standards. (They didn't like SMP programming back then.) Sega's main issue, as always, it they were to far ahead for the day.

  • The SH-2 is definitely a 32-bit processor as were the VDPs. I mean, if the Saturn was powered by 64-bit CPU's, you'd think Sega would hype the shit out of it. This is the company that coined "Blast Processing", after all.

The Sega CD was 16-bit. The processor is the same as the Genesis, I believe, just clocked higher.

  • Woo! BOSTON!

  • i remember this console like it was yesterday 1995 may to be exact HS graduation the school brought a BIG HUGE SEGA Truck the trailer will open up big tvs w a saturn each one cover w plexy glass. i believe saturn was going to be release on september, SEGA gave out 5 saturns to 5 lucky HS grads. have it before anybody in the world SEGA guy said, unfortunately i did not win one. But i was there, they had virtua fighter panzer dragon n that one nascar game cant remember the name good times.

  • Comment removed

  • The Cardtridge Slot is for the Ram and Backup.

  • That cartridge slot is used for memory/cheat cards, gamesharks, and other utilities and cartridges that make the sega saturn run import games.

  • also the saturn was too difficult to program for with its 2 cpus and many developers couldnt use the saturn to its full potential, i think sony won the console war because it made the least mistakes in that war
