I hope you fixed it by this point, but if someone runs into this again check the length of your cable too. I had a bad static/flicker problem on mine. Switched out 8ft HDMI for 4ft and haven't had a problem since. Even replaced cable twice before switching length and problem persisted. Sometimes bigger isn't better.

it might be the fuses to the hdmi port that are fucked, try it in a different port or test your ps3 on a different tv and see if u still have the same problem, or cheap cable

@sunnyshinde100 I never had any HDMI issues with my Insignia HDTV using my PS3 and I'm using the Fat model PS3 that plays PS2 games. I suggest going into your PS3's video setting and adjusting the video yourself instead of having the PS3 do it automatically. Does your HDTV support 1080p of just 720p? What model HDTV and what type HDTV (LCD or Plasma)? Do you have a PS3 Fat or PS3 Slim Model? If all else fails call Sony, the number in on your PS3 manual.

@DimebagsZombie unplug the tv, and everything in the back of the ps3. then plug the HDMI chord, power chord on teh ps3 and turn your tv on again. and check your HDMI channels when you press tv/video.. one of them is gonna say HDMI detected ,just click yes.. thts how i got mines it might do the same 4 u

Can your hdmi support 600hz doubtful, thats what you pay more for in hdmi cables. Also some metal such as silver has a cleaner signal then other metals. I may of got ripped off considering i dont need 600hz strength for my hdtv but i got a hdmi cable that supports 600hz and 20mb or gig something. The sony hdmis in walmart only support 240hz which is plenty for me, and 10gig or mb whatever that is flow i dont know i forgot i read it though online.

Keep your finger on the power button until it makes a double-beep (a few seconds after the first beep that indicates the system has turned on). Now it will revert back to the AV Multi-Out

I have a LG 1080, 120Hz, i use standard cheap hdmi cable no problems except for the screen lag, but i use upgraded cable made for 120hz and it begins to blink one to two minutes after use. ALSO ive tried four different brands and all have the same problem. NO PROBLEMS WHEN IVE TRIED USING IT ON MY 360 (same tv). Any help would be awesome! Thanks.

i had this problem, it can be fixed by switching your ps3 from 1080p to 1080i

go to display settings>hdmi>custom. here you will see a bunch of resolutions (420, 720, 1080i, and 1080p). These will all be checkmarked, all you need to do is uncheckmark the 1080p and then save it and it will be 1080i always, and i havent got a problem since
