I'm nowhere close to a Photoshop snob or anything like that, but...

If a company is going to finally start an ad campaign using typographic effects... and that company is as big and lucrative as Ford... you'd think they'd go all out and do it right. Half of the time in this commercial they're just popping up words over pictures on the screen. At the risk of sounding too nit picky, I've seen much better from amateurs and I know I'm not alone in this.

Or maybe D. Leary's schtick just bugs me...

If you ask me it also is the difference between genius and insanity. And this truck is insanely ingenious.

This is a very well-done advert, I say.

The excellent use of kinetic typography and the well-done voiceover gets the message across in terms of the audience they're wishing to reach.

"Crazy", in this sense = "insanely" or "unbelievably". And judging from what they've done with the truck, I'd agree. Usually fuel-mileage increases come at the expense of horsepower, but the Ford engineers managed to improve both.
