What's wrong with using a good ol fashioned Nikonos V? ya wouldn't need all that extra baggie gear... btw, nice lens changing... when I was in the Navy, a guy did just that! He was serious though. Nice sense of humor you have!
Umm so what camera was that at the beginning(underwater with its lens off) did it still work? If not, which I think it wouldnt, how much was it to repair? be nice if it was covered in the warranty : )
This video should be renamed "Beautiful woman underwater with camera having fun". Nice video Leigh, (sorry if I called you Brittany in my e-mail, didn't realize you prefer that name better). I love watching you swim in your pool, and taking underwater pictures. Please keep making more of these videos.
ok, so what's the point of this, what did I learn? Where is the result? I taught I was going to learn the actual process of it, after fallowing to the first video.
well reports of nikon with wi fi built in and some mobile phone i have heard also added with g.p.s is rumored to be re installed on nikon coolpix cameras.increased 4 stop iso both higher and lower end and full video with 2 k resolution.Cineam screen are 4 k resolution at presentwith a removable and multi adjustable screen and higher fps in full frame dx and live view settings are the rumors mentioned so but could be all bull as well
well usually a 4 year cycle with nikon so it would appear that new camera equipment is called for august 23 or august 24th 2011 is billed as major announcements
well appears that nikon users joe mc nally and also chase jarvis plus uk nature photographer andy rouse all working with nikon on some new nikon project as has being tweets from said individuals. With reports that nikon d700 out of stock in all us stores adds credence that something is in the offing.
Seen you take a Canon camera underwater without a case and at the end of the video took off the lens and emptied out the water.Just curious was the camera a plastic demo mockup version or a real working camera.
My first reaction was What? You took an expensive camera and the lens off underwater noooo! Then I figure yeah its a prop, kinda stimulating and fun to watch a fit girl who knows how to use flash underwater :) I'm assuming the underwater bag has a tight seal similar to what they use in nature documentaries?
@wecontinue Hi! They are much less expensive than a hard case, which would be dedicated for a particular camera model. That being said, I have an inexpensive hard case for my Powershot G7 which works great.
@TheSnapChick Yup I reckon if I don't need to swap camera bodies often, which is fine since I only have the one Nikon camera body and lens then I could do worse then get a cheaper hard case for it.
very impressive, if THIS is outtakes, like a blooper reel I'm guessing, your official thing must be AMAZING... ;) Always refreshing to see a swimmer who says "who needs a mask or goggles when you can just open your eyes?" lol
@aarmington The D7000 is an impressive camera. It's a tremendous leap forward for Nikon in almost any of their product lines. I'm interested in seeing the AF performance.
you should have handled weight on the bottom of the pool so you can grab a hold of something and not float back up unless you want to. I don;'t know if people do that, I just thought of it.
Oh i see you use one of those underwater protective cases... i wanted to get one, but i always feared putting at risk such expensive gear for a plastic bag if you know what i mean...
and how does it work with lenses? say for example 70-200?
@beepIL Anything can happen with any kind of case. Hard cases have many seals and o-rings that can lose integrity. I've had no issues with the bag. It's quite thick and durable. It will work with lenses that do not have a rotating front element. I have not tried to put a 70-200 into the bag, I'm not sure that it would fit in this particular bag, but they do have different sizes of bags for various body and lens sizes.
@raveetard It's possible in the same way it's possible to jump out of a plane at 15,000ft with no parachute. Sure, you can do it but the end result is pretty similar in both cases.
@stavrophotography Mostly with an old Powershot G7 and its matching underwater hard-case. I do also use an ewa-marine case with my DSLR cameras, which you can see me swimming with in this video.
next time if you wanna keep your body drown, or force it to stay underwater, you need to use an extra weight, like the one used in scuba diving, it a belt you wear it !
but don't use too much!! and try to be in shallow water, because it's very dangerous if you aren't (well trained) and keep someone close to you so they can watch over you !
