Automatic mustang arent worth a crap vs a manual in those body styles but that one had a t-45 5spd which isnt much better, but it was stock except for a k an n filter and flowmaster mufflers.... He took me everytime.
Actually u have it backwards. The sticks are faster off the line due to the ability to control the throttle. Autos answer to that are stall converters.
0:21 Mustangs 5pd manual and short geared axle perfomance has been maxed while the tall geared automatic LS1 was just getting started. These Mustang GT's can't win rolls maybe 0-60 thats it.
i test drove an auto ls1 camaro right before i bought my '01 gt and the camaro seemed too slow. my cousins stock gtp felt faster. so i went with what felt faster, the mustang. either those 2.73 gears make these cars feel super slow at low speeds or that motor was messed up. (obviously not the motor in this vehicle), good race. i love both cars.
@muscletruckdude If its gots the 2.73s and was used and probably not maintained properly, I'm not surprised it felt a little slower than the Mustang down low, but put some 3.42s in it, and it would open a can of whoop ass on a Mustang all day. The only reason he got such a jump on the 'maro was cause he had a manual. Manual Mustang vs. auto 2.73 Camaro = Mustang down low, 60+ usually, Camaro by several lengths. Over 100, its no contest. Camaro will win...By far...
@theamishreject yeah your probably right. but im happy with my stang tho. i like the interior better than camaros and i think 4.6 motors sound better and i like the way mustangs handle better even though ive been a die hard chevrolet fan my whole life.

I know these cars like the back of my hand. Honestly, I'd have to respectfully disagree on all counts though. I hate the Mustang interior. Yea, its got a better back seat, but who gives a shit? I LOVE the fact that the Camaro has a hatch instead of trunk. Makes for better audio setup for one. Continued>>>
Continued.....As for the mod motor sounding better, it DOES sound slightly more refined I guess? But the LSx motors sound way more intimidating, aggressive, and down right fucking mean. The Stang doesn't sound like it has any balls. As for handling better, i can't say for sure on that, cause I never really pushed a SN95 Stang that hard through the corners, but the Camaro handles better IMO. It just doesn't ride quite as well since it sits lower and has less body roll. The 2 are often confused.
its always funny to me to see a 2v try an ls1 and I am a ford guy the same outcome everytime I leave ls1 cars out of the hole in my 2v but they always come back and beat me. But in the end when the terminator comes out to play its a diffrent story I love both cars camaros Mustangs and trans ams hell anything american muscle has my respect but good run there

So, in summary, SS has 3.23s, so the Z you ran, proably had the optional 3.23s as well, which equals a even race, but the Z having 2.73s equals a ass whooping down low...The ram air doesn't do shit, unlike ZR1Terror said, but the gears make a HUGE difference on a stock A4 car...

2.73 gear? They came w/ a 3.08 or a 3.23. Hard to believe he pulled on you like that. i know you say the traction deal but he stayed ahead of you for 1st n 2nd. Hard to believe you have traction problems w/ a 2.73. My brother has the same mods you did w/ a 3.23 and he doesn't have that problem hardly at all. I got 4.10's w/ Lt headers n tune, i could see traction problems w/3.73 or 4.10 but 2.73 that's hard to believe. :-/
@SCLUSC1 2.73 were standard on A4 with option for 3.23 (which is standard on A4 SS) & 3.08's were used on the V6's. As far as the video my Z was hesitating (probably due to a fault code at the time) & I absolutely have no traction if i floor it anywhere below 45 because i was lucky enough to get stuck with the V6 wheels (245/50/16's) cause i don't have the money for wider wheels or Nitto DR's & the kuhmo's can't hold on. Hell some times @ WOT when it shifts into 2nd it will spin & even kick out
@djnastymike Same thing happens to me. Had Kumho's, flooring it at 40MPH or less the back end would skid and the car would downshift. Got new tires on it now, doesn't do that anymore. I got an A4 Z28 myself.

see now I have a k and n cai, sct tuner, o/r x-pipe with flowmaster super 44's, underdrive pulley's, and 78mm throttle body/ intake plentum. Bring out the z!!!
