  • The best bass player of metallica was jason newsted can you even imagine the concert of seattle without jason ? NOT !

  • wow... i love the other justice for jason tracks, but this is a little much bass, huh? :D

  • one person don´t believe in Jason...

  • Both Jason and Cliff are great bass players, but i think that the compositional capability of Cliff gives him a plus :P

  • @JMC4101994 they never gave jason a chance to compose

  • Oh dude you got some balls to say that!!

  • The only song that normally I can hear the bass.. And in most parts I can't hear it! LOL

  • OMG you unreversed the intro as well. NICE!!

  • So much fucking disrespect to cliff. I cant believe the shit im seeing.

  • @moko9hoko - those people are not showing any disrespect, they are called opinions.

  • Wow. I want my bass to sound like this. It´s fuckin´ awesome!

  • Both the original harmonic intro, and this new backwards version are the coolest things that guitars ever made.

  • Is it just me, or is it impossible to listen to this without solely concentrating on listening to the bass?! :p

  • ok... now the bass is a little TOO loud! Sheesh.

  • the "sloppy" sound comes from highspeed finger picking, but yeah cliff did alot of songwriting.

  • i never listen that before 0:00 0:30

  • @Killingfields16 the original intro is the 0:00 - 0:30 reversed, that's all.

  • hey guys listen to spawn of possession tracks with new bass under my uploads

  • jason era mejor y esta cancion si se nota la diferencia demasiado jason tenia la mejro actitud y su sonido era tan pesado y bueno!!!!!!!!

  • Now the bass is fighting with the guitar and everything else. It's way too loud. Original is better but it's great to hear Jason so well. He's really good.

  • JAsonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn!!!! YOu Are GOD!!!!

  • vamooooo jasonnn la conha de tu m,adreeeeeeeeeee

  • The added bass makes the guitar sound even thinner now. If there was ever an album in need of a proper remixing, this is it.

  • You have to admit Jason's bass playing on One is horrific though..

  • Is this the original Jason's bass? Or recorded by another guy?

  • And Justice For Jason is way better than And Justice For All

  • i like how you added the original intro

  • Comment removed

  • Wow, I just stumbled into this - so much better to hear the bass up the mix! Nice work, people!

  • It sounds even heavier...

  • @wtfjaftw No,fuck YOU,you descendant of the monkey.....Go learn some decencies first! After that, try to learn music (something too difficult for apes like yourself) and when you manage to do those thing, then come again and try to discuss with me the bass guitar thing! SO SEE YOU LATER YOU RETARD

  • Is it wrong to say I like all of the bassists? I am a bassist myself and i love all the albums and in my opinion, jason and cliff had 2 massive albums they worked on; cliff-ride the loghtning and master of puppets and jason-and justice for all and the black album. I still love the load and relad albums but not as much as these. Robert is great too as he loves funk and we all know funk is awesome. I also happen to think that death magnetic is awesome.

  • where can i downloade this version of the album?

  • malditos , como fueron capaces de negar de esa forma el gran talento de Jason , sobre todo que participo en la composicion del tema.Increible

  • wow, it sounds so much better!!

  • Man it's too excessive....The bass it's too loud than a usual bass track. I agree with the fact that Metallica didn't let Jason's bass sound as loud as should to be but dude, that's to loud and it's not nice!!! It's not like Metallica's sound!

  • WHATever they say, JASON is a great bassist!

  • i really apreciate jason's work, but we gotta admit that in this version the bass is too loud and fucks up the song. it would be awesome if someone could do a proper mix, that really would be justice for all!

  • @xurxo12 I agree.....

  • Now I see why they lowered Jason, it makes the guitars sound puny. Where did you get that intro?????? Ive never heard it!!!!

  • @zonie9872 The intro at the beggining is actually the original recording kirk did, but for the studio version they decided to play it backwards, in this video you hear the original version at the beggining then version we all heard with the CD

  • @zonie9872 The intro at the beg

ginning is actually the original recording kirk did, but for the studio version they decided to play it backwards, in this video you hear the original version at the beginning then version we all heard with the CD

  • Holy c rap with the bass the song becomes EVEN more Brutal :-) Loving it thank you for the upload

  • with the bass sound more brutal

  • Tell me where I can download this NAO

  • ...so?

  • maybe it would better justice for both newsted and metallica if the baseline wasn't too much loud in this version... i mean i like the idea of acutally adding the baseline on this record and i totally think metallica as jerks for cutting it off just to make fun at jason... but it would sound better if it was mixed properly...

  • @Mitraeltheprophet This version is a bit over the top, but on the "And justice for Jason" version I have it is mixed in a "Kill'em all" way. To me that's why I love the album, in further releases even your God Cliff is behind the guitars.

  • What a great idea!! Well done who made this!!

  • big fan, shitty version

  • If James had died in the bus accident instead of cliff And justice for all would be an instrumental album.

  • @carcha6669 it was hammet's bunk that cliff took when the bus flipped and killed him numb nuts, james, kirk and lars had no serious injuries while cliff had the bus literally on top of him. so no ...And Justice for All will never be an instrumental.

  • @Masterofthesixstring dude awesome name oh and btw what if James would have died on that horrible night then it may have been instrumental but thankfully he didnt

  • @carcha6669 It was between Kirk or Cliff :(

  • @carcha6669

It would have been Kirk...because Burton took Kirk's bunk.

  • Se hizo justicia ctm ..l..lml..l..

  • Se hizo justicia ctm ..l..lml..l..

  • Love the intro

  • I prefer this album with the louder bass sound, sounds meatier. The bass is audible, but not loud enough to hear the plucking.

  • th bass is too loud

  • @KoolKluxKlan666 Redneck Piece of shit i wouldn't talk you're a fucking nobody

  • the low end on the recording is still missing, I would say...i'm not completely sure this is jason

  • sounds like shit..

  • OK, IS THIS REALLY JASON OR SOME RANDOM DUDE RERECORDING THE SONG?

  • Is that intro part of the song?? I never heard it before! it usually starts with the fade in at 0:28

  • @ammiesro Actually the first 28 seconds is the original intro, and the fade in at 0:28 is the intro being played backwards.

  • @Nubnut I have bought the original CD twice (lost it at first) and non of them have this? where is it from?

  • @ammiesro Truth be told, I'm not really sure, I haven't heard it on any album I've ever heard.

  • @Nubnut Cause it's just some guy who has recorded bass over the top of i think.

  • This song now has balls.

  • too MUCH bass imo. I'd like a nice half-way point between original and this. This is cool stuff though.

  • @MarkRiches I agree, a little too much. Still its way better than the original.

  • damn i love this version with the bass

  • If i had one wish i would wish that metallica make an remaster of AJFA it called And Justice for Jason

  • ..and this has so much more depth to it..thanks!

  • @KoolKluxKlan666 You think you're clever insulting Cliff? He was a million times the musician you'll ever be.

  • I love justice album remix by you tubers loll its way better cause JaSoN is a MoNsTeR on Basssss this is way better then the original version. MEtallica should remix the album and put it out and let the album be renamed and justice for jason....

  • lol i did the same but not with bass

  • Epic Intro.

  • To the people who are asking where the intro is from and "I'm loving the forward intro", that's the way they actually recorded the intro in the studio. The intro we hear on the CD version is just them reversing it.

  • Love the intro! Who came up with that?!

  • @zonie9872 it's the intro of the song but forwards

  • love the forwards intro

  • This is a FAT bass!!!

  • Bass is okay but too much in this one :P I like when things sound raw, and this album sounded very raw because of very little bass too so I ofc prefer the original over this. Other albums sound fine with bass but I think this one is very specific with style and stuff, it sounds very flat (including kick drum) and has complicated rhytmic stuff its what makes it so unique and cool :D

  • @Elvo86 totally agree

  • The enhanced bass also brings up the kicks. Nice.

  • ME GUSTA!! Very well done, I must say Jason!

  • @KKK666....you fucking nigger....hahaha...suck a niggers dick

  • The fast riff sounds like shit with the extra bass...it's too loud, it sounds like Primus...not Metallica.

  • Jason joined Metallica for the money. That was all.....

  • @KoolKluxKlan666 lol slaughter thy fattened calf !!! brb touring denmark....oh shi....

  • genial!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Awesome *-*

  • Robert dont fukn suck.. go listen to suicidal tendencies nd then tell me he sucks

Jason has a natural born talent on the bass...Cliff was fed NOT WITH A BOTTLE

WITH A FUKN BASS GUITAR IN HIS HAND ND A BEER ALONG WITH A FAT BLUNT TO HIS MOUTH (R.I.P Cliff Lee Burton)

  • Overrated white thrash?

Says somebody who's name is 'KOOLKLUXKLAN666' haha douchebag

    Metallica FTW

  • @patrinaina

While I respect your opinion, good sir, I disagree. They are are truly great bass players. Look up trujillo's stuff from Infectious Grooves. He has some serious skill.

  • Or his Suicidal Tendencies stuff.

  • wheres the intro from?

  • What you are hearing is the original intro for Blackened, played normal. They recorded this, then played it backwards for the album.

  • @xbladeincanimation its the intro played forwards

  • Jason is a great bass player and a tough guy that's why he stayed and that's the reason we all miss him and his drive.

  • plz send me a link where i can download that :)

  • jason rules

    yeahh

  • much much better

    whith bass

    and justice for jason jajaja

    lol

  • its just fucked up how they torned of the bass on the album...but these remasters SUCK!!!!!!.the bass is to loud...then i kinda like the sound of the original album

  • it's purposely loud so you can hear it well...

  • Comment removed

  • The intro to this song always pulls me into a majestic world. =3

  • Wow. Deep... Are you like some philosospher?

  • I like Jason, think he's a good player and I've followed his career after he left Metallica but the bass is way to loud in theses remasters. AJFA is my favorite Metallica album so I may be biased. But The bass should never overpower the guitar, unless you're in a bass driven band (primus)

  • Interesting to finally hear the bass line. I think Jaymz said in an interview once that the bass wasn't intentionally turned down, it's just that the guitars and drums were so loud that they overcame the bass track. Also Jason said that he was involved in the mixing process and was happy with the end result. Personally I think Jason was still "new" to the band and didn't have much weight to throw around during mixing...

  • He never said he was happy........ Watch "Classic albums: The making of the black album" and you see he wasn't happy with the result

  • mmm yeah he si good bass olayer but those fucker just care the money

  • are you serious? James said that they weren't confident in Jason's playing abilities, AND Jason said then turning down the bass was the "MEANEST" thing they ever did to him.

  • I know, I know. It sounded strange to me as well since it was the complete opposite to what is generally accepted to be the case. That's why I paid attention to it in the first place. It's been a while, but I'll see if I can dig up the source. If not, then... well, shame on me.

  • they did leaved him play

  • no ma c oye bien cabron asi no c

  • but cliff is/was better

    Rip cliff

  • always the same, cliff was better, lalala, let cliff rest in peace, and jason play the fucking bass

  • Yeah, I agree

  • @diegofacu In my opinion Jason was was actually a much better player than Cliff. If you listen to the master of puppets bass master tracks, they are sloppy as fuck. Jason is rhythmically very tight! I'm probably going to get lots of hate from ignorant bass players. I don't care :P

  • @benbass91 Yeah, no. Cliff was definitely better.

  • @benbass91 cliff burton was their best bass player shut the fuck up and let him rest in peace sloppy verses try hard? i think id rather take sloppy on account of cliff being amazing at playing.

  • @xBOMBxTRACKx Well sloppy playing goes against being a good bass player :P Also Rob is better than Cliff too, he has great groove.

  • Comment removed

  • @benbass91 I totally agree, Jason is better than Cliff...

  • @Pluhy999 I don't want to start a discussion here but... Cliff is way better than Jason, maybe Jason's bass tracks could be a bit fast because he uses a pick but play Fight Fire With Fire using fingers, Cliff destroys Jason's skills.

What about Orion? There's no comparison against the song My friend of Misery... But that's your opinion, I respect I'm just showing mine.

  • @Nonameesg At first, it's about preferences. I like Jason's tone and his way of playing, but sure, Cliff is very good bass player and Orion is awesome song.

  • @benbass91 i agree on bass lines making but not MUCH better =P cliff has some epicness jason will never achieve

  • @benbass91 lol "I'm probably going to get lots of hate from ignorant bass players. I don't care :P" i.e. people who know what they're talking about whereas you're just trying to get attention for saying stupid shit lol

  • @benbass91 From a holding down the beat and meat of a song standpoint, i can see that. Cliff had much more phenomenal overall musical sense, musicianship, and improvisational skills.

  • @benbass91 But Robert it's like the perfect combination between the two techniches (I think I spelled that wrong lol) Rob has Cliff's agility in the fingers and more precision as related to Jason

  • @benbass91

well, he's just overrated like many dead artists...hendrix, 2pac etc

  • @badabumbadabing1 Oh my, the trolls are really out today aren't they :O!

  • @Samage89

Its just my opinion. Dont like it? Tough shit.

  • @badabumbadabing1 Saying you don't like Hendrix's music is fine but saying it's overrated is quite Biggoted. Also, this is the Internet, welcome to people challenging "your opinion" on a public message board.

  • @benbass91 how dare u. they are 2 different types of player, cant never ever be compared!

  • @benbass91 so true cliff could play werid shit but jason was the best bassist in metallica

  • @benbass91 Well, it might sound sloppy (and on occasion it is), but a lot of the sloppy sound is enchanced by his tone (which, although raw and heavy, is pretty poor, barely cuts through the mix) and the fact that he's playing with fingers. Listen to John Myungs bass tracks (ones without distortion). He is extremely precise, however - his bass tracks also sound sloppy due to the tone settings and fingerstyle. And Orion is pretty precise rhytmically, if you ask me.

  • @benbass91 That's why I like Jason better, Cliff wasn't a perfectionist in the studio, he's like my lead guitarist, he just wants it to sound lively, Me and Jason share a trait. We're perfectionists with any recording.

  • @benbass91 I like them both but yeah I think Jason was a more precise player. Cliff was a great composer though... But he was very young when he died and could have used more years to hone his talent.

  • @benbass91 oh my god BLASPHEMY!

WTF do I know though, I dont play bass. All I know is that when Cliff died, Metallica died.

  • @benbass91 Your fucking right, cliff was a very messy bass player where jason was accurate

  • maybe a bit exaggerated...

  • Good job. Really beefs this track up. Might even try to get the tab for it.

The only problem is if that greedy little shit Ulrich hears this he might get his record label to ban it from Youtube.

  • i think so, too

but as long it is here, we should like it

don't know the right word in english

    metallica rulezz

  • Fuck yeah I can finally hear it!

  • why actually is there no bass on thee album?

  • No...they got Jason like a few weeks after Cliff's passing. As a goof on Jason, they omitted his bass lines for ALL of the songs on this album cause they wanted "haze" him.

  • @mrgrayf0x Well, yes and no. The non-existent bass sound on ...And Justice for All is largely the result of three things. They didn't know how well Jason's bass playing would mix with the other band members' playing, and they wanted a more "upfront" sound, so the bass was already going to be kind of low to begin with. But the producer dropped the ball on mixing this album, which is why everything sounded so bone-dry. The guitars and drums were damaged, but the bass was destroyed.

  • actually jason recorded the bass for the album it´s there but james and lars put it very low on the album just listen to anjfa you can kind of hear the bass.

  • easyer to hear it in the middle part of to live is to die. But the drums are too fucking loud sometimes

  • WTH, where's that intro come from lol?

  • It's the actual intro to the song (the one you hear on the album is the reversed version of what you hear at the start of this one)

  • James wrote the bass line for the album.

  • OH YEAH!!!!!!!

  • Yeah, i love the progressive elements, but without the bass its just empty, of course its so much better with bass (like this song) :D

  • where does this intro come from!??!

  • sound a little bit like someone was making a bass cover with the song on the background, but its nice to hear the bass at all in this album

  • JASON ROCKS
