There are thousands and thousands of people working for these companies, they only picked out the gays to target gay children dealing with bullying. Also, more people are comfortable with coming out now more, so there may be many more gay people than one originally thought, supporting the idea that it is a completely normal and natural thing.

I learned to harden my skin against all the bullies. It also helped that I grew to be 6'3" 240lbs too. This is not a ploy by EA to up ratings by disclosing an openness to diversity. It's EA providing another outlet of hope to kids who are suffering through the same throes that plenty of them have struggled through. This shows that people have realized the hate that has been bred in so many communities and that there is hope that it will get better.

@topomusic They write these things also because it is still socially and culturally acceptable in many places, which won't change if there is no penalty for bigotry. The comments shouldn't stay -- a depressed person who watches this video might feel ever so slightly more re-inspired to live. Seeing these comments can knock them right back down. I don't think they should prevent people from commenting all together, but why permit hate-speech on an acceptance-video? It doesn't make any sense.

@topomusic I understand what you're saying, I do... but I have to say that when I was growing up, being bullied and chased down like an animal. I learned to fight back. I learned to harden my skin against all the bullies. It also helped that I grew to be 6'3" 240lbs too. I noticed, at 45.. that the 4 main bullies - two turned out to be gay themselves 1 was living on the streets homeless and the 4th died of a drug overdose... There may be bad comments, but you can also see the fight back too...

I don't want to go to Pride another year and have people throw bottles at my friends for wearing t-shirts that say "I'm gay" or "I'm lesbian". I don't. I don't want the things that are supposed to support me and those like me to be defiled by hate-comments. It's not what I need, and it's not what anyone else who is bullied needs to hear. For once, I'd like to look at something and only see love.
